Definitions
- the present disclosure relates to cargo tank units and ships.
- the present application claims priority with respect to Japanese Patent Application No. 2019-238408 filed in Japan on December 27, 2019, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a configuration in which a cargo tank is supported by a hull via a cylindrical skirt. The upper end of the skirt described in Patent Document 1 is arranged at the equator position of the cargo tank. The upper end of this skirt is fixed to the equator of the cargo tank by welding.
- such cargo tanks are designed in accordance with the requirements of IMO tank type B specified in the IGC (International Gas Carrier) code, which is the safety regulation for liquefied gas vessels established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). ..
- IGC International Gas Carrier
- IMO International Maritime Organization
- the IMO tank type B cargo tank is a format in which the stress of each part of the structure is accurately grasped using model tests and detailed analysis methods, and fatigue analysis and fracture mechanism analysis are accurately performed. Therefore, the welded portion between the cargo tank and the skirt must also meet the same fatigue strength requirements as the tank. For this reason, a ring-shaped member formed by machined processing is generally used for the welded portion between the equator portion of the cargo tank and the skirt. This ring-shaped member is joined between the upper half and the lower half of the cargo tank. The upper end of the lower half of the cargo tank and the upper end of the skirt arranged on the radial outer side of the cargo tank are welded to the lower end of the ring-shaped member. Therefore, the lower end of the ring-shaped member has a thickness that is the sum of the thickness of the lower half of the cargo tank and the thickness of the upper end of the skirt.
- the upper limit of the wall thickness of each part including the ring-shaped member is 40 mm, except when the material is an aluminum alloy.
- the wall thickness of the lower half of the cargo tank is the thickness of the ring-shaped member to be welded (maximum 40 mm) minus the wall thickness of the upper end of the skirt. That is, at least in the lower half of the cargo tank, the wall thickness cannot be increased beyond a certain level. This hinders the increase in size of the cargo tank, which is required to have pressure resistance.
- the present disclosure has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present disclosure is to provide a cargo tank unit and a ship capable of increasing the wall thickness of the cargo tank and, by extension, increasing the size of the cargo tank. To do.

Abstract
