Description
<第1実施形態>
1.電極1の構成
図1、図2に基づき、電極1の構成を説明する。電極1は帯状の形状を有する。電極1は、集電体3と、活物質層5とを備える。集電体3は帯状の形状を有する。活物質層5は、集電体3の両面にそれぞれ形成されている。
電極製造システム11の構成を、図3~図7に基づき説明する。図3に示すように、電極製造システム11は、電解液処理槽15と、ドープ槽17、19、21と、洗浄槽23と、搬送ローラ25、27、29、31、33、35、37、39、40、41、43、45、46、47、49、51、52、53、55、57、58、59、61、63、64、65、67、69、70、71、73、75、77、79、81、83、85、87、89、91、93(以下ではこれらをまとめて搬送ローラ群と呼ぶこともある)と、供給ロール101と、巻取ロール103と、支持台105と、循環濾過ユニット107と、6つの電源109、110、111、112、113、114と、タブクリーナー117と、回収ユニット119と、端部センサ121と、を備える。なお、図3では、後述する流動ユニット201の記載は便宜上省略している。
対極ユニット137は、上流槽131のうち、上流側に配置されている。対極ユニット139、141は、仕切り板135を両側から挟むように配置されている。対極ユニット143は、上流槽131のうち、下流側に配置されている。
電極製造システム11を使用するとき、電解液処理槽15、及びドープ槽17、19、21に、ドープ溶液を収容する。ドープ溶液は、アルカリ金属イオンと、溶媒とを含む。ドープ溶液は電解液である。
ドープ電極を製造する製造方法は以下のとおりである。プレドープ前の電極1を供給ロール101に巻き回す。次に、プレドープ前の電極1を供給ロール101から引き出し、上述した経路に沿って巻取ロール103までセッティングする。そして、電解液処理槽15と、ドープ槽17、19、21と、洗浄槽23とを上昇させ、図3に示す定位置へセットする。
また、I/Jは1以上であることが好ましく、5以上であることがより好ましく、10以上であることがさらに好ましい。I/Jが5以上である場合には、リチウムのドープを電極面内でより均一に行うことができ、I/Jが10以上である場合には、その効果が一層著しい。
蓄電デバイスとして、例えば、電池、キャパシタ等が挙げられる。電池として、例えば、リチウムイオン二次電池等が挙げられる。キャパシタとして、例えば、リチウムイオンキャパシタ等が挙げられる。蓄電デバイスは電極セルを備える。電極セルは、負極と、正極とを積層した構成を有する。
(1A)本開示のドープ電極の製造方法では、電極1に対し、アルカリ金属イオンを含み、流動しているドープ溶液を接触させることで、アルカリ金属を活物質にドープする。本開示のドープ電極の製造方法によれば、プレドープにおけるドープ速度を向上させることができる。ドープ速度が向上する理由は、ドープ溶液が流動することにより、電極1の表面上の溶媒成分の濃縮が抑制されるためであると推測される。溶媒成分として、例えば、エチレンカーボネート等が挙げられる。
そのことにより、プレドープにおけるドープ速度を一層向上させることができる。

(7-1)電極1の作製
SiO31質量部、人造黒鉛62質量部、アセチレンブラック粉体4質量部、SBRバインダー2質量部、カルボキシメチルセルロース1質量部、及びイオン交換水85質量部から成る組成物を、プラネタリーミキサーを用いて充分混合することにより負極スラリーを得た。アセチレンブラックは導電剤に対応する。
電極1から、図9に示す電極試験体301を切り出した。電極試験体301は、長方形の本体部303と、突出部305とを備えていた。本体部303は、電極1のうち、活物質層形成部6から切り出された部分であった。本体部303の短辺の長さは26mmであった。本体部303の長辺の長さは40mmであった。
下段のフッ素ゴムチューブ321から、簡易ドープ電極製造装置339の内部にドープ溶液を供給し、上段のフッ素ゴムチューブ321から同量のドープ溶液を吸い出すことによって、ドープ溶液を流動させた。ドープ溶液の流量は0.37ml/secであった。簡易ドープ電極製造装置339の内部において、ドープ溶液が流動する箇所の断面積は1.84cm2であった。ドープ溶液の平均流速Jは0.2cm/secであった。平均流速Jは、ドープ溶液の流量を、ドープ溶液が流動する箇所の断面積で除した値である。ドープ溶液の温度は25℃であった。供給されたドープ溶液は、対極ユニット333と電極試験体301との間を流動しながら電極試験体301に接触した。ドープ溶液の流動方向は、電極試験体301の表面に対して略平行であった。
(7-4)ドープ電極の評価
得られたドープ電極から、長方形の測定用試料を切り出した。測定用試料の短辺の長さは1.5cmであった。測定用試料の長辺の長さは2.0cmであった。測定用試料の面積は3. 0cm2であった。
ドープ溶液の温度、電解液の種類、電流、電流密度、ドープ溶液の流量、及び平均流速Jを表1及び表2に示す値とした点以外は実施例1と同様に、ドープ電極を製造し、得られたドープ電極の評価を行った。なお、比較例1~5では、簡易ドープ電極製造装置339をドープ溶液で満たした後、ドープ溶液を供給せずにドープを行った。評価結果を表1及び表2に示す。

表1及び表2に記載のように、各実施例では各比較例よりも好ましい結果が得られた。なお、実施形態で説明した電極製造システム11を用いてドープ電極を製造した場合も、各実施例と同様の効果が得られており、ドープ速度が向上していることが確認された。なお、比較例1~3のドープ電極では、リチウムの析出が確認された。
<第2実施形態>
1.第1実施形態との相違点
第2実施形態は、基本的な構成は第1実施形態と同様であるため、相違点について以下に説明する。なお、第1実施形態と同じ符号は、同一の構成を示すものであって、先行する説明を参照する。
第2実施形態によれば、第1実施形態における効果に加えてさらに以下の効果を奏する。

- アルカリ金属がドープされた活物質を含むドープ電極を製造する電極製造方法であって、
集電体と、前記集電体の表面に形成され、前記活物質を含む活物質層とを備える電極に対し、アルカリ金属イオンを含み、流動しているドープ溶液が接触した状態で、アルカリ金属を前記活物質にドープするドープ電極の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載のドープ電極の製造方法であって、
前記電極に対向して設けられた対極ユニットを用いてアルカリ金属を電気的に前記活物質にドープするドープ電極の製造方法。 - 請求項2に記載のドープ電極の製造方法であって、
前記電極と前記対極ユニットとの間のドープ溶液を流動させた状態でアルカリ金属を前記活物質にドープするドープ電極の製造方法。 - 請求項2又は3に記載のドープ電極の製造方法であって、
前記電極と前記対極ユニットとの間に位置するノズルから前記ドープ溶液を送り出すことにより、前記ドープ溶液を流動させるドープ電極の製造方法。 - 請求項4に記載のドープ電極の製造方法であって、

負極集電体と、前記負極集電体の表面に形成され、活物質を含む負極活物質層とを備える負極に対して、アルカリ金属イオンを含み、流動しているドープ溶液を接触させることで、アルカリ金属を前記活物質にドープし、
アルカリ金属を前記活物質にドープした後、前記負極と、前記負極とは異なる電極とを積層して前記電極セルを形成する蓄電デバイスの製造方法。 - 集電体と、前記集電体の表面に形成され、活物質を含む活物質層とを備える電極に対し、アルカリ金属を前記活物質にドープする処理を行うことで、アルカリ金属がドープされた前記活物質を含むドープ電極を製造する電極製造システムであって、
アルカリ金属イオンを含むドープ溶液を収容し、前記処理が行われるドープ槽と、
前記ドープ槽に収容された前記ドープ溶液を流動させる流動ユニットと、
