Description
本発明は、基板に実装されるシールドケースに関する。
従来、高周波回路基板の電子部品または回路パターンをシールドするシールドケースは、高周波回路基板のグランドパターンに実装される。シールドケースは、グランドパターンと導通するように、シールドケースの外周端部とグランドパターンとの間に半田を盛り付けて実装される(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
従来のシールドケースを高周波回路基板のグランドパターンに実装する際には、シールドケースの外周端部とグランドパターンとの間に盛り付けられた半田またはフラックスが、グランドパターンの外に染み出すことがある。グランドパターンから染み出した半田またはフラックスは、高周波回路基板上に設けられたアンテナパターンに付着してアンテナ性能を低下させてしまうという課題がある。
本発明は、上記のような課題を解決するためになされたものであり、基板の実装面におけるケース実装領域から半田及びフラックスが染み出すことを抑制することのできるシールドケースを得ることを目的とする。
本発明に係るシールドケースは、基板の実装面に設けられた回路パターンの少なくとも一部を覆うケース本体と、ケース本体の外周端部から、実装面に沿って前記ケース本体から離れる方向に延びるフランジ部と、フランジ部の外周端部から、実装面に対して離れる方向に曲がって延びる屈曲部とを備え、フランジ部とフランジ部が配置される基板に設けられたケース実装領域との間、及び屈曲部とケース実装領域との間に設けられる接合部材によって基板に実装される。
本発明のシールドケースによれば、基板の実装面におけるケース実装領域から半田及びフラックスが染み出すことを抑制することができる。
以下、この発明を実施するための形態について、図面を参照して説明する。
実施の形態1.

図1及び図2に示すように、高周波回路基板1の実装面1aには、グランドパターン12、レジスト部14、及び複数のアンテナパターン16が設けられている。なお、アンテナパターン16は、実装面1aに形成される回路パターンの少なくとも一部を構成する。

ケース本体20は、高周波回路基板1の実装面1a側に配置されて、実装面1aに形成された回路パターンの少なくとも一部の上方を覆っている。ケース本体20は、天板20aと傾斜面20bとを有する。天板20aは、矩形の平板状に形成されている。傾斜面20bは、天板20aの外周端部から、高周波回路基板1の実装面1a側に向かって下る方向に傾斜している。このようにケース本体20を 形成することによって、ケース本体20の天板20aと実装面1aに形成された回路パターンとの間には空間が形成される。
傾斜面20bの外周部分には、傾斜面20bの外周端部から、高周波回路基板1の実装面1aに沿ってケース本体20から離れる方向に延びる環状のフランジ部21が設けられている。フランジ部21は、ケース実装領域としてのグランドパターン12に接合される接合面21aを有している。
フランジ部21の外周部分には、フランジ部21の外周端部から、実装面1aに対して離れる方向に曲がって延びる環状に形成された屈曲部22が設けられている。図2の例では、屈曲部22は、実装面1aに対して垂直な方向に延びている。
シールドケース2は、フランジ部21とフランジ部21が配置されるグランドパターン12との間、及び屈曲部22とグランドパターン12との間に設けられる接合部材としての半田30によって、高周波回路基板1に実装される。この結果、シールドケース2は、半田30を介してグランドパターン12と電気的に接続される。

図3は、屈曲部22が設けられていないフランジ部21がグランドパターン12に実装された場合の半田30及びフラックス32の状態を示す断面図である。フランジ部21に屈曲部22が設けられていない場合には、フランジ部21とグランドパターン12との間に盛られた半田30及びフラックス32は、あまり盛り上がらずにグランドパターン12上に広がる。すると、図3に示す染み出し部32aのように、フラックス32がレジスト部14を超えて、アンテナパターン16の一部を覆ってしまう場合がある。
これに対し、図2に示す実施の形態1のシールドケース2のように、フランジ部21に屈曲部22が設けられている場合には、屈曲部22とグランドパターン12との間に盛られた半田30が、屈曲部22の壁面22aの表面張力によって壁面22aに沿って盛り上がる。よって、半田30がグランドパターン12上に広がって、フラックス32がグランドパターン12のレジスト部14を超えて染み出すことが抑制される。
このように、実施の形態1におけるシールドケース2は、フランジ部21に屈曲部22が設けられており、フランジ部21とフランジ部21が配置されるグランドパターン12との間、及び屈曲部22とグランドパターン12との間に設けられる半田30によって高周波回路基板1に実装される。
そして、屈曲部22とグランドパターン12との間に設けられる半田30を、壁面22aに沿って盛り上がらせている。このため、半田30及びフラックス32がレジスト部14を超えてグランドパターン12の外に染み出すことが抑制される。この結果、フラックス32によってアンテナパターン16が覆われることが抑制でき、高周波回路基板1のアンテナ性能を低下させることが抑制できる。
なお、実施の形態1では、シールドケース2の外形形状を矩形とした。しかし、シールドケース2の外形形状は、これに限るものではない。例えば、シールドケース2の外形形状は、楕円形、または六角形などの多角形であってもよい。
また、実施の形態1では、ケース本体20は、平板状の天板20aと傾斜面20bとによって構成されていた。しかし、ケース本体20の構成は、これに限るものではない。例えば、傾斜面20bの全体または一部を曲面で形成して、天板20aとフランジ部21とを曲面で接続するように構成してもよい。また、天板20a及び傾斜面20bの全体を曲面で形成するように構成してもよい。この場合には、ケース本体20に傾斜面20bを設ける必要はない。

図4は、実施の形態1のシールドケース2の第1変形例を示す断面図である。第1変形例では、屈曲部22は、実装面1aから離れる方向に、実装面1aに対して90°未満の角度で傾斜して延びている。第1変形例によっても、実施の形態1のシールドケース2と同様の効果が得られる。
また、図5は、実施の形態1のシールドケース2の第2変形例を示す断面図である。第2変形例では、屈曲部22は、実施の形態1の屈曲部22と同様に、フランジ部21の外周端部から、実装面1aに対して離れる方向に、実装面1aに対して垂直に延びるように形成されている。第2変形例では、屈曲部22は、さらに、フランジ部21から遠ざかる方向に、実装面1aに沿って曲がって延びている。第2変形例によっても、実施の形態1のシールドケース2と同様の効果が得られる。
実施の形態2.
図6は、本発明の実施の形態2におけるシールドケース2が実装された高周波回路基板1を示す斜視図である。図7は、図6のA部を拡大して示した平面図である。図8は、図6のVIII-VIII線に沿う断面図である。

実施の形態2におけるシールドケース2は、ケース本体20の形状が実施の形態1とは異なる。他の構成は、実施の形態1と同様である。
図6~図8に示すように、実施の形態2におけるシールドケース2は、ケース本体20の傾斜面20bに複数の貫通穴24が設けられている。
実施の形態2におけるシールドケース2は、傾斜面20bに複数の貫通穴24を設けることによって、シールドケース2内の回路パターンまたは電子部品から発生される熱を、各貫通穴24を介して放散することができる。
また、各貫通穴24の直径は、高周波回路基板1の回路パターンから発生する高周波の波長の1/4以下になるように設定されている。これは、当該高周波が各貫通穴24を介してシールドケース2を通過することを抑制するためである。
図8に示すように、傾斜面20bのフランジ部21に近い領域に貫通穴24を設けることによって、貫通穴24の中まで半田30及びフラックス32が盛られる。これにより、フランジ部21とグランドパターン12とを接合する面積が広くなる。このため、シールドケース2とグランドパターン12との間の接合強度を高めることができる。
なお、各貫通穴24は、ケース本体20で覆われるアンテナパターン16の上方に設けてもよい。この場合には、各貫通穴24を介して、アンテナパターン16に半田30及びフラックス32が浸み出していないかを目視で確認することができる。
実施の形態3.
図9は、本発明の実施の形態3におけるシールドケース2が実装された高周波回路基板1を示す斜視図である。図10は、図9のX-X線に沿う断面図である。

実施の形態3におけるシールドケース2は、ケース本体20に開口部26を設けた点が実施の形態2とは異なる。他の構成は、実施の形態2と同様である。
シールドケース2のケース本体20には、天板20aの中央付近に矩形状の開口部26が設けられている。この開口部26は、シールドケース2を高周波回路基板1に実装した後に、導電性テープなどの導電性部材によって閉塞される。
実施の形態3におけるシールドケース2は、ケース本体20に開口部26を設けることによって、高周波回路基板1にシールドケース2を実装した後であっても、開口部26を介して、ケース本体20で覆われる実装面1aの状態を確認することができる。このため、ケース本体20で覆われるアンテナパターン16の上に、半田30またはフラックス32が付着していないかを、シールドケース2の実装後に確認することができる。
また、シールドケース2の実装後にアンテナパターン16に半田30またはフラックス32が付着していた場合であっても、開口部26を介してアンテナパターン16に付着した半田30またはフラックス32を除去することができる。
なお、実施の形態3のシールドケース2は、開口部26の形状を矩形状としていた。しかし、開口部26の形状は、これに限るものではない。例えば、開口部26の形状は、楕円形、または六角形などの多角形形状であってもよい。また、開口部26は、2つ以上の開口部に分割されていてもよい。

Claims (8)
- 基板の実装面に設けられた回路パターンの少なくとも一部を覆うケース本体と、
前記ケース本体の外周端部から、前記実装面に沿って前記ケース本体から離れる方向に延びるフランジ部と、
前記フランジ部の外周端部から、前記実装面に対して離れる方向に曲がって延びる屈曲部と
を備え、
前記フランジ部と前記フランジ部が配置される前記基板に設けられたケース実装領域との間、及び前記屈曲部と前記ケース実装領域との間に設けられる接合部材によって前記基板に実装されるシールドケース。 - 前記屈曲部は、さらに、前記フランジ部から遠ざかる方向に、前記実装面に沿って曲がって延びている請求項1に記載のシールドケース。
- 前記ケース本体の外周部分には、
前記ケース本体の中央側から前記フランジ部に向かって下る方向に傾斜する傾斜面が設けられており、
前記傾斜面には、少なくとも一つの貫通穴が設けられている請求項1または請求項2に記載のシールドケース。 - 前記基板は、高周波回路基板であり、
前記貫通穴の直径は、前記回路パターンから発生される高周波の波長の1/4以下である請求項3に記載のシールドケース。 - 前記貫通穴は、前記傾斜面における前記フランジ部に近い側に設けられている請求項3または請求項4に記載のシールドケース。
- 前記回路パターンはアンテナパターンを含み、
前記貫通穴は、前記アンテナパターンの上方に設けられている請求項4または請求項5に記載のシールドケース。 - 前記ケース本体の中央付近には、開口部が設けられている請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のシールドケース。
- 前記開口部には、前記開口部を閉塞する導電性部材が取付け可能になっている請求項7に記載のシールドケース。
