Description
この発明は、空気入りタイヤに関し、さらに詳しくは、タイヤの騒音性能を向上できる空気入りタイヤに関する。
ピックアップトラック用の空気入りタイヤは、タイヤのウェットトラクション性を向上するために、貫通ラグ溝に区画されたブロック列をトレッド部センター領域に備えている。しかしながら、かかるトレッドパターンでは、タイヤの通過騒音性能が悪化するという課題がある。タイヤの通過騒音性能の向上を目的とする従来の空気入りタイヤには、特許文献1に記載される技術が知られている。
この発明は、タイヤの騒音性能を向上できる空気入りタイヤを提供することを目的とする。
上記目的を達成するため、この発明にかかる空気入りタイヤは、タイヤ赤道面を境界とする一方の領域に配置されたショルダー主溝およびセンター主溝と、前記ショルダー主溝に区画されたショルダー陸部およびミドル陸部とを備える空気入りタイヤであって、前記ショルダー陸部が、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、前記ミドル陸部が、複数のミドルラグ溝と、前記ミドルラグ溝に区画された複数のミドルブロックとを備え、1つの前記ミドルブロックの前記ショルダー主溝側のエッジ部に沿ったタイヤ周方向の区間Aを定義し、且つ、前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅が、区間Aにて連続的に増減することを特徴とする。
この発明にかかる空気入りタイヤでは、ショルダー主溝の溝幅が連続的に増減することにより、ショルダー主溝で発生する気柱共鳴音が低減されて、タイヤの通過騒音性能が向上する利点がある。
以下、この発明につき図面を参照しつつ詳細に説明する。なお、この実施の形態によりこの発明が限定されるものではない。また、この実施の形態の構成要素には、発明の同一性を維持しつつ置換可能かつ置換自明なものが含まれる。また、この実施の形態に記載された複数の変形例は、当業者自明の範囲内にて任意に組み合わせが可能である。
[空気入りタイヤ]
図1は、この発明の実施の形態にかかる空気入りタイヤを示すタイヤ子午線方向の断面図である。同図は、タイヤ径方向の片側領域の断面図を示している。また、同図は、空気入りタイヤの一例として、ピックアップトラック用オールポジションタイヤを示している。

同図において、タイヤ子午線方向の断面とは、タイヤ回転軸(図示省略)を含む平面でタイヤを切断したときの断面をいう。また、符号CLは、タイヤ赤道面であり、タイヤ回転軸方向にかかるタイヤの中心点を通りタイヤ回転軸に垂直な平面をいう。また、タイヤ幅方向とは、タイヤ回転軸に平行な方向をいい、タイヤ径方向とは、タイヤ回転軸に垂直な方向をいう。
空気入りタイヤ1は、タイヤ回転軸を中心とする環状構造を有し、一対のビードコア11、11と、一対のビードフィラー12、12と、カーカス層13と、ベルト層14と、トレッドゴム15と、一対のサイドウォールゴム16、16と、一対のリムクッションゴム17、17とを備える(図1参照)。
一対のビードコア11、11は、スチールから成る1本あるいは複数本のビードワイヤを環状かつ多重に巻き廻して成り、ビード部に埋設されて左右のビード部のコアを構成する。一対のビードフィラー12、12は、一対のビードコア11、11のタイヤ径方向外周にそれぞれ配置されてビード部を補強する。
カーカス層13は、1枚のカーカスプライから成る単層構造あるいは複数枚のカーカスプライを積層して成る多層構造を有し、左右のビードコア11、11間にトロイダル状に架け渡されてタイヤの骨格を構成する。また、カーカス層13の両端部は、ビードコア11およびビードフィラー12を包み込むようにタイヤ幅方向外側に巻き返されて係止される。また、カーカス層13のカーカスプライは、スチールあるいは有機繊維材(例えば、アラミド、ナイロン、ポリエステル、レーヨンなど)から成る複数のカーカスコードをコートゴムで被覆して圧延加工して構成され、絶対値で80[deg]以上90[deg]以下のカーカス角度(タイヤ周方向に対するカーカスコードの長手方向の傾斜角として定義される。)を有する。
ベルト層14は、一対の交差ベルト141、142を積層して成り、カーカス層13の外周に掛け廻されて配置される。一対の交差ベルト141、142は、スチールあるいは有機繊維材から成る複数のベルトコードをコートゴムで被覆して圧延加工して構成され、絶対値で15[deg]以上55[deg]以下のベルト角度を有する。また、一対の交差ベルト141、142は、相互に異符号のベルト角度(タイヤ周方向に対するベルトコードの長手方向の傾斜角として定義される)を有し、ベルトコードの長手方向を相互に交差させて積層される(いわゆるクロスプライ構造)。
トレッドゴム15は、カーカス層13およびベルト層14のタイヤ径方向外周に配置されてタイヤのトレッド部を構成する。一対のサイドウォールゴム16、16は、カーカス層13のタイヤ幅方向外側にそれぞれ配置されて左右のサイドウォール部を構成する。一対のリムクッションゴム17、17は、左右のビードコア11、11およびカーカス層13の巻き返し部のタイヤ径方向内側からタイヤ幅方向外側に延在して、ビード部のリム嵌合面を構成する。
[トレッドパターン]
図2は、図1に記載した空気入りタイヤ1のトレッド面を示す平面図である。同図は、ピックアップトラック用オールポジションタイヤ1のトレッド面を示している。同図において、タイヤ周方向とは、タイヤ回転軸周りの方向をいう。また、符号Tは、タイヤ接地端であり、寸法記号TWは、タイヤ接地幅である。
図2は、図1に記載した空気入りタイヤ1のトレッド面を示す平面図である。同図は、ピックアップトラック用オールポジションタイヤ1のトレッド面を示している。同図において、タイヤ周方向とは、タイヤ回転軸周りの方向をいう。また、符号Tは、タイヤ接地端であり、寸法記号TWは、タイヤ接地幅である。
図2に示すように、空気入りタイヤ1は、タイヤ周方向に延在する複数の周方向主溝21、22と、これらの周方向主溝21、22に区画された複数の陸部31~33とをトレッド面に備える。
主溝は、JATMAに規定されるウェアインジケータの表示義務を有する溝であり、4.0[mm]以上の溝幅および6.5[mm]以上の溝深さを有する。特に、ピックアップトラック用タイヤでは、主溝が10.0[mm]以上の溝深さを有する。また、後述するラグ溝は、タイヤ幅方向に延在する横溝であり、タイヤ接地時に開口して溝として機能する。また、後述するサイプとは、トレッド踏面に形成された切り込みであり、タイヤ接地時に閉塞する点でラグ溝と区別される。
溝幅は、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を充填した無負荷状態にて、溝開口部における左右の溝壁間の距離として測定される。陸部が切欠部や面取部をエッジ部に有する構成では、溝長さ方向を法線方向とする断面視にて、トレッド踏面と溝壁の延長線との交点を測定点として、溝幅が測定される。
溝深さは、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を充填した無負荷状態にて、トレッド踏面から溝底までの距離の最大値として測定される。また、溝が部分的な凹凸部やサイプを溝底に有する構成では、これらを除外して溝深さが測定される。
規定リムとは、JATMAに規定される「標準リム」、TRAに規定される「Design Rim」、あるいはETRTOに規定される「Measuring Rim」をいう。また、規定内圧とは、JATMAに規定される「最高空気圧」、TRAに規定される「TIRE LOAD LIMITS AT VARIOUS COLD INFLATION PRESSURES」の最大値、あるいはETRTOに規定される「INFLATION PRESSURES」をいう。また、規定荷重とは、JATMAに規定される「最大負荷能力」、TRAに規定される「TIRE LOAD LIMITS AT VARIOUS COLD INFLATION PRESSURES」の最大値、あるいはETRTOに規定される「LOAD CAPACITY」をいう。ただし、JATMAにおいて、乗用車用タイヤの場合には、規定内圧が空気圧180[kPa]であり、規定荷重が規定内圧での最大負荷能力の88[%]である。
例えば、図2の構成では、空気入りタイヤ1が、タイヤ赤道面CL上に中心点をもつ略点対称なトレッドパターンを有している。しかし、これに限らず、空気入りタイヤ1が、例えば、タイヤ赤道面CLを中心とする左右線対称なトレッドパターンあるいは左右非対称なトレッドパターンを有しても良いし、タイヤ回転方向に方向性を有するトレッドパターンを有しても良い(図示省略)。
また、図2の構成では、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とする左右の領域が2本の周方向主溝21、22をそれぞれ有している。また、これらの周方向主溝21、22が、タイヤ赤道面CLを中心として、左右対称に配置されている。また、これらの周方向主溝21、22により、5列の陸部31~33が区画されている。また、1つの陸部33が、タイヤ赤道面CL上に配置されている。
しかし、これに限らず、5本以上の周方向主溝が配置されても良いし、周方向主溝がタイヤ赤道面CLを中心として左右非対称に配置されても良い(図示省略)。また、1つの周方向主溝がタイヤ赤道面CL上に配置されることにより、陸部がタイヤ赤道面CLから外れた位置に配置されても良い(図示省略)。
また、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とする1つの領域に配置された周方向主溝21、22のうち、タイヤ幅方向の最も外側にある周方向主溝21をショルダー主溝として定義し、タイヤ赤道面CL側にある周方向主溝22をセンター主溝として定義する。
例えば、図2の構成では、タイヤ赤道面CLから左右のショルダー主溝21、21の溝中心線までの距離D1が、タイヤ接地半幅TW/2の45[%]以上75[%]以下の範囲にある。また、タイヤ赤道面CLから左右のセンター主溝22、22の溝中心線までの距離D2が、タイヤ接地半幅TW/2の10[%]以上30[%]以下の範囲にある。
溝中心線は、左右の溝壁間の距離の中点を接続した仮想線として定義される。
溝中心線までの距離は、主溝の溝中心線がジグザグ形状あるいは波状形状を有する場合には、溝中心線の左右の最大振幅位置の中点を通りタイヤ周方向に平行な直線を測定点として、距離が測定される。
タイヤ接地幅TWは、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を付与すると共に静止状態にて平板に対して垂直に置いて規定荷重に対応する負荷を付与したときのタイヤと平板との接触面におけるタイヤ軸方向の最大直線距離として測定される。
タイヤ接地端Tは、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を付与すると共に静止状態にて平板に対して垂直に置いて規定荷重に対応する負荷を加えたときのタイヤと平板との接触面におけるタイヤ軸方向の最大幅位置として定義される。
また、最外周方向主溝21に区画されたタイヤ幅方向外側の陸部31をショルダー陸部として定義する。ショルダー陸部31は、タイヤ幅方向の最も外側の陸部であり、タイヤ接地端T上に位置する。
また、最外周方向主溝21に区画されたタイヤ幅方向内側の陸部32をミドル陸部として定義する。ミドル陸部32は、最外周方向主溝21を挟んでショルダー陸部31に隣り合う。
また、ミドル陸部32よりもタイヤ赤道面CL側にある陸部33をセンター陸部として定義する。センター陸部33は、タイヤ赤道面CL上に配置されても良いし(図2参照)、タイヤ赤道面CLから外れた位置に配置されても良い(図示省略)。
なお、図2のような4本の周方向主溝を備える構成では、一対のショルダー陸部31、31と、一対のミドル陸部32、32と、単一のセンター陸部33とが定義される。また、例えば、5本以上の周方向主溝を備える構成では、2列以上のセンター陸部が定義され(図示省略)、3本の周方向主溝を備える構成では、ミドル陸部がセンター陸部を兼ねる(図示省略)。
[ミドル陸部およびセンター陸部]
図3は、図2に記載した空気入りタイヤ1のトレッド部センター領域を示す拡大図である。同図は、ミドル陸部32およびセンター陸部33のブロック列を示している。図4は、図3に記載したトレッド部センター領域の要部を示す拡大図である。図5は、ミドル陸部32の要部を示す断面図である。同図は、ミドルブロック322における切欠部323およびミドルサイプ324を含む断面図を示している。

図2に示すように、ミドル陸部32は、複数のミドルラグ溝321と、複数のミドルブロック322と、切欠部323と、複数のミドルサイプ324とを備える。このため、ミドル陸部32が、ブロック列となっている。
ミドルラグ溝321は、ミドル陸部32をタイヤ幅方向に貫通して、ミドル陸部32を区画する左右の周方向主溝21、22に開口する。また、複数のミドルラグ溝321が、タイヤ周方向に所定間隔で配列される。また、ミドルラグ溝321の最大溝幅W21(図3参照)が、5.0[mm]≦W21≦15[mm]の範囲にある。また、ミドルラグ溝321の最大溝深さH21(図示省略)が、4.0[mm]≦H21の範囲にあり、また、ショルダー主溝21の最大溝深さH1(図示省略)に対して0.30≦H21/H1≦1.00の関係を有する。
例えば、図3の構成では、センター主溝22が、円弧形状の長尺部222と直線状の短尺部221とをタイヤ周方向に交互に接続して成る屈曲形状を有している。また、センター主溝22の溝幅が、第一のミドルラグ溝321との接続部(短尺部221)にて最小値W2’をとり、第二のミドルラグ溝321との接続部(長尺部222)にて最大値W2をとる。また、直線状の短尺部221が、一定の溝幅を有する。また、円弧形状の長尺部222の溝幅が、タイヤ赤道面CLから離間するに連れて増加する。
また、ミドルラグ溝321がタイヤ周方向に湾曲した円弧形状を有し、また、ミドルラグ溝321の最大溝幅W21がタイヤ赤道面CL側に向かって漸減している。また、隣り合うミドルラグ溝321、321が相互に同一方向に湾曲している。また、ミドルラグ溝321が、センター主溝22の長尺部222に対して滑らかに接続している。このため、センター主溝22が、短尺部221とミドルラグ溝321を延長した長尺部222と交互に接続して成るように見える。
ミドルブロック322は、隣り合うミドルラグ溝321、321に区画されて成る。また、複数のミドルブロック322が、タイヤ周方向に一列に配列される。また、ミドルブロック322の接地幅Wb2が、タイヤ接地半幅TW/2に対して0.25≦Wb2/(TW/2)≦0.50の関係を有することが好ましく、0.30≦Wb2/(TW/2)≦0.50の関係を有することがより好ましい。
ブロックの接地幅は、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を付与すると共に静止状態にて平板に対して垂直に置いて規定荷重に対応する負荷を付与したときのブロックと平板との接触面におけるタイヤ軸方向の最大直線距離として測定される。
また、図3に示すように、ミドルブロック322のタイヤ幅方向内側およびタイヤ幅方向外側のエッジ部が、センター主溝22およびショルダー主溝21側に凸となる形状を有している。また、ミドルブロック322のタイヤ幅方向内側のエッジ部が、センター主溝22の長尺部222および短尺部221に沿った形状、すなわち円弧形状を有する長尺部と直線状の短尺部とを接続した屈曲形状を有している。また、ミドルブロック322のタイヤ幅方向外側のエッジ部が、単一円弧から成る円弧形状を有している。
切欠部323は、図3に示すように、ミドルブロック322のタイヤ赤道面CL側のエッジ部の中央部に形成される。また、単一の切欠部323が、各ミドルブロック322に形成される。また、切欠部323が、後述するセンターラグ溝331の延長線上に形成されて、センターラグ溝331の溝開口部に向かって開口する。これにより、トレッド部センター領域の排水性が向上して、タイヤのウェットトラクション性が向上する。また、切欠部323の開口幅W23が、後述するセンターラグ溝331の最大溝幅W31に対して0.20≦W23/W31≦1.20の関係を有することが好ましく、0.80≦W23/W31≦1.20の関係を有することがより好ましい。
図2の構成では、図3に示すように、ミドルブロック322の切欠部323が、センターラグ溝331の延長線上に形成されて、センターラグ溝331の溝開口部に向かって開口している。また、切欠部323が、センターラグ溝331の溝中心線の延長線上にある。また、切欠部323の幅W23が、センターラグ溝331のセンター主溝22側の開口幅W31’(図中の寸法記号省略。図3では、W31=W31’)に対して略同一に設定されている。
切欠部は、陸部の踏面に平行な底面をもつステップ状の凹部(すなわち段差部)として定義される。また、切欠部は、切り込み溝あるいは短尺なラグ溝を含む。
切欠部の開口幅は、ブロック踏面の平面視にて、周方向主溝に対する開口幅の最大値として測定される。また、ブロックが切欠部の開口部に面取部(図4の符号325)を有する場合には、ブロックのエッジ部の延長線と切欠部の壁面の延長線との交点を測定点として、切欠部の開口幅が測定される。
面取部は、陸部の踏面と溝壁面との交差部を平面あるいは曲面で接続する部分として定義される。
また、図4において、切欠部323のタイヤ幅方向への延在長さL23が、ミドルブロック322の接地幅Wb2に対して0.10≦L23/Wb2≦0.90の関係を有することが好ましく、0.10≦L23/Wb2≦0.50の関係を有することがより好ましい。
切欠部の延在長さは、ブロック踏面における切欠部の延在長さの最大値として測定される。
また、図4に示すように、切欠部323が、センターラグ溝331に対してタイヤ周方向で同一方向に傾斜することが好ましい。また、タイヤ周方向に対する切欠部323の傾斜角θ23が、35[deg]≦θ23≦85[deg]の範囲にあることが好ましく、60[deg]≦θ23≦75[deg]の範囲にあることがより好ましい。また、切欠部323の傾斜角θ23が、タイヤ周方向に対するセンターラグ溝331の傾斜角θ31に対してθ31≦θ23の関係を有することが好ましい。
切欠部の傾斜角は、切欠部の開口部および終端部を結ぶ直線とタイヤ周方向とのなす角として測定される。
また、図5において、切欠部323の深さH23が、センター主溝22の溝深さH2に対して0.15≦H23/H2≦0.35の関係を有することが好ましい。また、切欠部323の深さH23が、面取部325の深さH25よりも深いことが好ましい。また、切欠部323の深さH23が、面取部325の深さH25よりも深いことが好ましい。また、面取部325が省略されても良い(図示省略)。
切欠部の深さは、ブロック踏面から切欠部の段差部までの最大深さとして測定される。

ミドルサイプ324は、図3に示すように、切欠部323からタイヤ幅方向に延在してミドルブロック322のタイヤ幅方向外側のエッジ部に開口する。このミドルサイプ324により、ミドルブロック322の中央部と周方向エッジ部(ミドルラグ溝321側のエッジ部)との剛性差が緩和されて、タイヤのヒール・アンド・トゥ摩耗が抑制される。また、ミドルブロック322の踏面の排水性が向上して、タイヤのウェットトラクション性が向上する。図3の構成では、ミドルサイプ324が、タイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角をショルダー主溝21側に向かって増加させた緩やかな円弧形状を有し、ミドルラグ溝321に対して略平行に延在している。また、ミドルサイプ324が、切欠部323に沿って延在して切欠部323の段差部を貫通しても良いし(図5参照)、切欠部323との接続部で終端しても良い(図示省略)。
また、図3に示すように、ミドルサイプ324が、ミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部の中央部に開口する。具体的には、ミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部の周方向長さLe2(図8参照)の測定点からミドルサイプ324の開口部までのタイヤ周方向の距離(図中の寸法記号省略)が、周方向長さLe2に対して30[%]以上70[%]以下の範囲にあることが好ましく、35[%]以上65[%]以下の範囲にあることがより好ましい。
また、図3の構成では、ミドルブロック322が、単一のミドルサイプ324を備え、他のサイプあるいは細溝を備えていない。これにより、ミドルブロック322の剛性が高められている。
さらに、切欠部323およびミドルサイプ324により区画されたミドルブロック322の部分の接地面積比が90[%]以上110[%]以下の範囲にあることが好ましく、95[%]以上105[%]以下の範囲にあることがより好ましい。これにより、ミドルブロック322の各部分の接地面積が均一化されて、ミドルブロック322の偏摩耗が抑制される。
サイプは、トレッド踏面に形成された切り込みであり、1.5[mm]未満のサイプ幅および2.0[mm]以上のサイプ深さを有することにより、タイヤ接地時に閉塞する。
サイプ幅は、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を充填した無負荷状態にて、陸部の踏面におけるサイプの開口幅の最大値として測定される。
サイプ深さは、タイヤを規定リムに装着して規定内圧を充填した無負荷状態にて、トレッド踏面からサイプ底までの距離の最大値として測定される。また、サイプが部分的な凹凸部を溝底に有する構成では、これらを除外してサイプ深さが測定される。
また、図4に示すように、ミドルサイプ324が、切欠部323に対してタイヤ周方向で逆方向に傾斜する。このため、ミドルサイプ324と切欠部323との接続部が、タイヤ周方向に凸となる屈曲形状を有する。また、タイヤ周方向に対するミドルサイプ324の傾斜角θ24が、10[deg]≦θ24≦80[deg]の範囲にあることが好ましく、55[deg]≦θ24≦75[deg]の範囲にあることがより好ましい。また、切欠部323とミドルサイプ324とのなす角α、すなわちミドルサイプ324と切欠部323との接続部の屈曲角が、75[deg]≦α≦175[deg]の範囲にあることが好ましく、100[deg]≦α≦145[deg]の範囲にあることがより好ましい。
サイプの傾斜角は、ブロック踏面におけるサイプの両端部を通る直線とタイヤ周方向とのなす角として測定される。
また、ミドルサイプ324の深さH24が、ミドルラグ溝321の溝深さH21(図示省略)に対してH24/H21≦0.95の関係を有することが好ましく、H24/H21≦0.90の関係を有することがより好ましい。したがって、ミドルサイプ324がミドルラグ溝321よりも浅い。また、ミドルサイプ324の深さH24(図5参照)が、ショルダー主溝21の溝深さH1(図示省略)に対して0.30≦H24/H1≦0.60の関係を有することが好ましい。
なお、図2の構成では、上記のように、ミドルブロック322が、ミドルサイプ324を有している。このとき、ミドルサイプ324のエッジ部に面取りが施されても良い。また、ミドルサイプ324に代えて、細溝(図示省略)が配置されても良い。かかる場合には、細溝の溝幅が0.9[mm]以上3.0[mm]以下の範囲にあり、溝深さが5.0[mm]以上10[mm]以下の範囲にあることを要する。
また、図2の構成では、ミドルサイプ324が円弧形状を有するが、これに限らず、ミドルサイプ324が、ストレート形状、S字形状、屈曲形状などを有しても良い(図示省略)。また、ミドルサイプ324のエッジ部に面取部が形成されても良い(図示省略)。
センター陸部33は、図2に示すように、複数のセンターラグ溝331と、複数のセンターブロック332と、複数のセンターサイプ333とを備える。
センターラグ溝331は、センター陸部33をタイヤ幅方向に貫通して、センター陸部33を区画する左右のセンター主溝22、22に開口する。また、複数のセンターラグ溝331が、タイヤ周方向に所定間隔で配列される。
また、図3において、センターラグ溝331の最大溝幅W31が、2.5[mm]≦W31≦7.0[mm]の範囲にある。また、ミドルラグ溝321の最大溝幅W21が、センターラグ溝331の最大溝幅W31に対して1.10≦W21/W31≦3.50の関係を有することが好ましく、1.50≦W21/W31≦2.50の関係を有することがより好ましい。
また、図4に示すように、センターラグ溝331が、ミドル陸部32のミドルラグ溝321に対してタイヤ周方向で逆方向に傾斜する。また、タイヤ周方向に対するセンターラグ溝331の傾斜角θ31が、35[deg]≦θ31≦85[deg]の範囲にあることが好ましく、65[deg]≦θ31≦80[deg]の範囲にあることがより好ましい。
また、センターラグ溝331の溝深さH31(図示省略)が、5.0[mm]≦H31≦16[mm]の範囲にある。また、センターラグ溝331の溝深さH31が、ミドルラグ溝321の溝深さH21(図示省略)に対して0.80≦H31/H21≦1.20の関係を有する。また、図3の構成では、センターラグ溝331が直線形状を有している。
センターブロック332は、隣り合うセンターラグ溝331、331に区画されて成る。また、複数のセンターブロック332が、タイヤ周方向に一列に配列される。
また、図3において、センターブロック332の接地幅Wb3が、ミドルブロック322の接地幅Wb2に対して0.80≦Wb3/Wb2≦1.40の関係を有することが好ましく、0.90≦Wb3/Wb2≦1.20の関係を有することがより好ましい。
また、図3に示すように、センターブロック332のタイヤ幅方向のエッジ部が、左右のセンター主溝22、22に対して凹となる2つの円弧部を接続した形状を有している。具体的には、センターブロック332のエッジ部が、センター主溝22の一対の長尺部222、222および1つの短尺部221に沿った形状、すなわち一対の円弧部と1つの直線部とを接続した屈曲形状を有している。また、センターブロック332が、タイヤ赤道面CL上にあり、また、点対称な形状を有している。また、センターブロック332の最大接地幅Wb3および最小接地幅Wb3’が、0.50≦Wb3’/Wb3≦0.90の関係を有することが好ましく、0.60≦Wb3’/Wb3≦0.80の関係を有することがより好ましい。
また、図3の構成では、上記したミドルブロック322のエッジ部とセンターブロック332のエッジ部とがタイヤ幅方向にオーバーラップすることにより、センター主溝22がシースルーレス構造を有している。すなわち、センター主溝22側におけるミドル陸部32の陸部幅Wb2の測定点が、センター陸部33の陸部幅Wb3の測定点よりもタイヤ赤道面CL側にある。これにより、トレッド部センター領域の接地面積比が高められている。
センターサイプ333は、図3に示すように、センターブロック332をタイヤ幅方向に貫通して、左右のセンター主溝22、22に開口する。また、センターサイプ333が、2つの屈曲部をもつステップ形状を有し、センター主溝22、22に接続する左右の長尺部(図中の符号省略)にて、センターラグ溝331に対して略平行に延在する。
また、図4において、タイヤ周方向に対するセンターサイプ333の傾斜角θ33が、50[deg]≦θ33≦130[deg]の範囲にあることが好ましい。また、センターサイプ333の深さH33(図示省略)が、ミドル陸部32のミドルサイプ324の深さH24(図5参照)に対して1.05≦H33/H31の関係を有することが好ましく、1.10≦H33/H31の関係を有することがより好ましい。したがって、センターサイプ333がセンターラグ溝331よりも深い。このため、センター陸部33におけるサイプ333およびラグ溝331の深さ関係は、ミドル陸部32におけるサイプ324およびラグ溝321の深さ関係に対して逆の傾向を有している。なお、センターサイプ333の深さH33の上限は、特に限定がないが、上記した比H33/H24の範囲により制約を受ける。
[変形例]
図6は、図2に記載した空気入りタイヤ1の変形例を示す説明図である。同図は、ミドルブロック322の切欠部323とミドルサイプ324との関係を示している。

図2の構成では、図3および図4に示すように、ミドルサイプ324が、切欠部323に接続して開口し、この開口位置から延在してミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部に開口している。かかる構成は、ミドルサイプ324の排水作用が向上する点で好ましい。
しかし、これに限らず、図6に示すように、ミドルサイプ324が、切欠部323に接続することなく切欠部323の近傍で終端し、この終端位置から延在してミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部に開口しても良い。このとき、ミドルサイプ324と切欠部323との距離DgがDg≦1.0[mm]の範囲にあれば、ミドルサイプ324が切欠部323から延在しているといえる。かかる構成は、タイヤ加硫成形時にて、タイヤ成形金型(図示省略)におけるミドルサイプ324の成形ブレードと切欠部323の成形ブレードとの間に微少な隙間を形成できるので、空気溜まりによる加硫故障を低減できる点で好ましい。距離Dgの下限は、特に限定がないが、0.3[mm]以上であれば、空気の流通経路が確保されて、上記した加硫故障の低減作用が確保される。
[ショルダー陸部およびセカンド陸部]
図7は、図2に記載した空気入りタイヤ1のトレッド部ショルダー領域を示す拡大図である。同図は、ショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32のブロック列を示している。図8は、図7に記載したトレッド部ショルダー領域の要部を示す拡大図である。

図2に示すように、ショルダー陸部31は、複数の第一および第二のショルダーサイプ311、312のみを備え、貫通ラグ溝を備えていない。このため、ショルダー陸部31は、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブとなっている。
ショルダーサイプ311、312は、ショルダー陸部31をタイヤ幅方向に貫通してショルダー主溝21およびタイヤ接地端Tにそれぞれ開口する。また、第一および第二のショルダーサイプ311、312がタイヤ周方向に交互に配置される。これらのショルダーサイプ311、312は、タイヤ接地時に閉塞するため、ショルダー陸部31をタイヤ周方向に分断しない。また、ショルダーサイプ311、312が、ミドル陸部32のミドルサイプ324に対してタイヤ周方向で相互に逆方向に傾斜する。
また、図7に示すように、第一ショルダーサイプ311が、後述する円弧部313(図7参照)の接続部に開口し、第二ショルダーサイプ312が円弧部313の最大突出位置に開口する。また、第一および第二のショルダーサイプ311、312が、タイヤ接地端T側に向かってタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角を増加させた緩やかな円弧形状を有する。また、第一および第二のショルダーサイプ311、312が、タイヤ周方向に対して相互に同一方向に傾斜する。また、第一および第二のショルダーサイプ311、312が、ミドルブロック322のミドルサイプ324に対してタイヤ周方向で逆方向に傾斜する。
また、図7に示すように、ショルダー陸部31のタイヤ幅方向内側のエッジ部が、複数の円弧部313を接続して成る連続円弧形状を有する。すなわち、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部が、ショルダー主溝21側に凸となる複数の円弧部313を有し、これらの円弧部313が、タイヤ周方向に連なって設けられて連続円弧形状を形成する。これにより、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部の偏摩耗が抑制される。
また、上記のように、ミドル陸部32が複数のミドルラグ溝321に区画された複数のミドルブロック322を備え、これらのミドルブロック322のタイヤ幅方向外側のエッジ部が単一の円弧部326から成る円弧形状を有する。このため、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部の連続円弧形状とミドル陸部32のエッジ部の円弧形状とが、ショルダー主溝21を挟んで相互に対向する。
1つの円弧部は、トレッド平面視にて陸部の主溝側のエッジ部の輪郭線を抽出し、この輪郭線上にある隣り合う変曲点に区画された部分として定義される。
また、円弧部313、326の曲率半径が、40[mm]以上150[mm]以下の範囲にあることが好ましい。
また、図7に示すように、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の最大突出位置(図中の符号省略)と、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の最大突出位置とが、タイヤ周方向に千鳥状に配列される。このため、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313が、ミドル陸部32のミドルラグ溝321の開口部に対向し、また、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326が、ショルダー陸部31の隣り合う円弧部313の接続部(図7では、第一ショルダーサイプ311の開口部)に対向する。
また、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の最大突出位置とミドルブロック322の円弧部326の最大突出位置とのタイヤ周方向の距離Dpが、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313のピッチ長P1に対して0.20≦Dp/P1≦0.60の関係を有することが好ましく、0.35≦Dp/P1≦0.50の関係を有することがより好ましい。したがって、ショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32の円弧部313、326がタイヤ周方向に千鳥状に配列される。
また、ショルダー陸部31の接地幅Wb1とミドル陸部32の接地幅Wb2とが、0.80≦Wb2/Wb1≦1.20の関係を有することが好ましく、0.90≦Wb2/Wb1≦1.10の関係を有することがより好ましい。
また、図7に示すように、ショルダー主溝21がタイヤ周方向にシースルー構造を有する。すなわち、左右の陸部31、32のエッジ部が、タイヤ周方向への投影視にてタイヤ幅方向にオーバーラップしない。また、ショルダー主溝21のシースルー幅Dtと最大溝幅W1とが、0.60≦Dt/W1≦0.90の関係を有することが好ましく、0.70≦Dt/W1≦0.80の関係を有することがより好ましい。これにより、タイヤの通過騒音性能およびウェット性能が向上する。
シースルー幅Dtは、左右の陸部の最大幅位置のタイヤ幅方向の距離Dtとして測定される。
また、図8において、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の周方向長さLa1およびピッチ長P1が、0.80≦La1/P1≦1.00の関係を有することが好ましく、0.90≦La1/P1≦1.00の関係を有することがより好ましい。したがって、1つの円弧部313の周方向長さLa1が円弧部313のピッチ長P1(図7参照)に対して略等しく、隣り合う円弧部313が近接して配置されてショルダー陸部31のエッジ部を形成する。
円弧部の周方向長さは、円弧の両端部を接続する弦のタイヤ周方向への延在長さとして測定される。
また、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の周方向長さLa2と、そのエッジ部の周方向長さLe2とが、0.80≦La2/Le2≦1.00の関係を有することが好ましく、0.85≦La2/Le2≦1.00の関係を有することがより好ましい。したがって、円弧部326の周方向長さLa2がエッジ部の周方向長さLe2に対して略等しく、1つの円弧部326がミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部の全域に渡って延在する。
ブロックのエッジ部の周方向長さは、ブロックを区画する周方向主溝の溝壁と一対のラグ溝の溝壁との各交点のタイヤ周方向の距離として測定される。ブロックの角部が面取部を有する場合には、溝壁の延長線により上記した溝壁の交点が定義される。
また、図7に示すように、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の端部から最大突出位置までのタイヤ周方向の距離(図中の寸法記号省略)が、円弧部313の周方向長さLa1に対して40[%]以上60[%]以下の範囲にあることが好ましく、45[%]以上55[%]以下の範囲にあることがより好ましい。したがって、最大突出位置が円弧部313の中央に位置する。同様に、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の端部から最大突出位置までのタイヤ周方向の距離(図中の寸法記号省略)が、円弧部326の周方向長さLa2に対して40[%]以上60[%]以下の範囲にあることが好ましく、45[%]以上55[%]以下の範囲にあることがより好ましい。
例えば、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部が凸となる位置でミドル陸部32のエッジ部が凹となり、逆に、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部が凹となる位置でミドル陸部32のエッジ部が凸となる。また、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の最大突出位置が、ミドル陸部32の円弧部326の最大突出位置に対してタイヤ周方向の略同位置にあり、図7における比Dp/P1が約50[%]である。このため、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部とミドル陸部32のエッジ部との距離、すなわちショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、タイヤ周方向で周期的かつ連続的に増減する。これにより、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が向上して、タイヤのウェットトラクション性が向上する。
また、ショルダー主溝21の最大溝幅W1が、センター主溝22の最大溝幅W2(図3参照)よりも大きい。これにより、トレッド部センター領域の接地面積を確保しつつウェット性能が高められる。また、ショルダー主溝21の最大溝幅W1が、センター主溝22の最大溝幅W2に対して0.70≦W2/W1≦0.95の関係を有することが好ましく、0.70≦W2/W1≦0.80の関係を有することがより好ましい。
[ショルダー主溝の溝幅の変化]
図9は、図8に記載したショルダー主溝の溝幅の変化を示すグラフである。同図は、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が所定区間にて連続的に増減する様子を示している。

図8において、1つのミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部に沿ったタイヤ周方向の区間Aを定義する。具体的には、区間Aが、ミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部における一方の端点C1から他方の端点C5までのタイヤ周方向の区間として、定義される。この区間Aでは、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部とミドル陸部32のエッジ部とが対向し、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が測定可能である。また、区間Aは、ミドルラグ溝321の開口位置を含まない。また、複数組のミドルブロック322およびミドルラグ溝321がタイヤ周方向に所定ピッチで配列されることにより、複数の区間Aがタイヤ周方向に所定ピッチで配列される。
このとき、図8および図9に示すように、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、区間Aにて連続的に増減する。具体的には、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の一方の端点C1から漸減して点C2で極小値をとり、その後に漸増して点C3で極大値をとる。次に、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、点C3から漸減して点C4で極小値をとり、その後に円弧部326の他方の端点C5に向かって漸増する。このため、図9に示すように、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、区間Aにて波状かつ滑らかに増減する。また、ミドルラグ溝321の開口部では、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅を測定できない。そして、上記溝幅の変化がタイヤ周方向で周期的に繰り返される。
上記の構成では、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が連続的に増減することにより、ショルダー主溝21で発生する気柱共鳴音が低減されて、タイヤの通過騒音性能が向上する。
また、区間Aおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大点C3と極小点C2、C4とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ld(図9参照)の最小値Ld_minが、ミドルラグ溝のピッチ長P2に対して0.20≦Ld_min/P2の関係を有することが好ましく、0.25≦Ld_min/P2の関係を有することがより好ましい。また、距離Ldの最小値Ld_minが、10[mm]≦Ld_minの範囲にあることが好ましい。これにより、溝幅の増減の波長が緩やかになり、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保される。
また、区間Aおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大点C3と極小点C2、C4とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ld(図9参照)の最大値Ld_maxが、ミドルラグ溝のピッチ長P2に対してLd_max/P2≦0.35の関係を有することが好ましく、Ld_max/P2≦0.30の関係を有することがより好ましい。また、距離Ldの最大値Ld_maxが、Ld_max≦20[mm]の範囲にあることが好ましい。これにより、溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される。
また、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極値点が、3つ以上であることが好ましい。溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される。極値点の数の上限は、特に限定がないが、上記した距離Ld範囲により制約を受ける。例えば、図8の構成では、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313とミドルブロック322の円弧部326とがタイヤ周方向に千鳥状に配列されることにより、図9に示すように、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が1つの極大点および2つの極小点を区間Aに有する。また、点C2における極小値と点C4における極小値とが、同一値W1bを有する。しかし、これに限らず、2つの極小値W1bが相互に異なる値を有しても良い。
また、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大値W1aおよび極小値W1bが、1.05≦W1a/W1b≦1.50の関係を有することが好ましく、1.10≦W1a/W1b≦1.25の関係を有することがより好ましい。これにより、溝幅の振幅が適正化される。なお、溝幅の極大値W1aおよび極小値W1bは、タイヤ全周における溝幅の最大値W1および最小値W1’に対して、W1a≦W1およびW1’≦W1bの関係を有する。
[効果]
以上説明したように、この空気入りタイヤ1は、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とする一方の領域に配置されたショルダー主溝21およびセンター主溝22と、ショルダー主溝21に区画されたショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32とを備える(図2参照)。また、ショルダー陸部31が、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、ミドル陸部32が、複数のミドルラグ溝321と、これらのミドルラグ溝321に区画された複数のミドルブロック322とを備える。また、1つのミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部に沿ったタイヤ周方向の区間Aを定義するときに、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、区間Aにて連続的に増減する(図8および図9参照)。
以上説明したように、この空気入りタイヤ1は、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とする一方の領域に配置されたショルダー主溝21およびセンター主溝22と、ショルダー主溝21に区画されたショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32とを備える(図2参照)。また、ショルダー陸部31が、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、ミドル陸部32が、複数のミドルラグ溝321と、これらのミドルラグ溝321に区画された複数のミドルブロック322とを備える。また、1つのミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部に沿ったタイヤ周方向の区間Aを定義するときに、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が、区間Aにて連続的に増減する(図8および図9参照)。
かかる構成では、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が連続的に増減することにより、ショルダー主溝21で発生する気柱共鳴音が低減されて、タイヤの通過騒音性能が向上する利点がある。また、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅が連続的に増減することにより、センター主溝の溝幅が連続的に増減する構成と比較して、通過騒音性能を向上できる利点がある。特に商用車用タイヤでは、トラクション性能およびウェット性能を向上するために、幅広なラグ溝をショルダー陸部に備えるトレッドパターンが広く採用されている。しかしながら、かかるトレッドパターンでは、幅広なラグ溝に起因して、通過騒音性能が悪化する傾向にある。この点において、上記の構成では、通過騒音性能とトラクション性能およびウェット性能とを両立できる点で有益である。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大点C3と極小点C2とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ld(図9参照)の最小値Ld_minが、ミドルラグ溝321のピッチ長P2に対して0.20≦Ld_min/P2の関係を有する。これにより、溝幅の増減の波長が緩やかになり、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保される利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大点C3と極小点C2とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ld(図9参照)の最小値Ld_minが、10[mm]≦Ld_minの範囲にある。これにより、溝幅の増減の波長が緩やかになり、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保される利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極値点が、3つ以上である(図9参照)。これにより、溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、区間Aにおけるショルダー主溝21の溝幅の極大値W1aおよび極小値W1bが、1.05≦W1a/W1b≦1.50の関係を有する。これにより、溝幅の振幅が適正化されて、タイヤの通過騒音性能およびウェット性能が向上する利点がある。すなわち、上記下限により、溝幅の振幅が確保されて、溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される。上記上限により、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保されて、ハイドロプレーニング現象の発生が抑制される。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー主溝21のシースルー幅Dt(図7参照)と最大溝幅W1とが、0.60≦Dt/W1≦0.90の関係を有する。これにより、タイヤの通過騒音性能およびウェット性能が向上する利点がある。すなわち、上記下限により、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保される。上記上限により、溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31のエッジ部が、ショルダー主溝21側に凸となる複数の円弧部313を接続して成る形状を有する(図7参照)。また、ミドルブロック322のエッジ部が、ショルダー主溝21側に凸となる単一の円弧部326から成る形状を有する。これにより、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅の増減(図9参照)を効率的に形成できる利点がある。また、陸部のエッジ部がジグザグ形状を有する構成(図示省略)と比較して、陸部の接地面積が増加して、陸部の摩耗耐久性が向上する利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31あるいはミドルブロック322の円弧部313;326の曲率半径が、40[mm]以上150[mm]以下の範囲にある。上記下限により、ショルダー主溝21の排水性が確保されて、ハイドロプレーニング現象の発生が抑制され、また、上記上限により、溝幅の増減による気柱共鳴音の低減作用が確保される利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31あるいはミドルブロック322の円弧部313;326の端部から最大突出位置までのタイヤ周方向の距離(図示省略)が、円弧部313;326の周方向長さLa1;La2に対して40[%]以上60[%]以下の範囲にある(図9参照)。かかる構成では、円弧部313;326の最大突出位置が円弧部313;326の中央部に配置されるので、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅の増減(図9参照)を効率的に形成できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の最大突出位置と、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の最大突出位置とのタイヤ周方向の距離Dp(図7参照)が、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313のピッチ長P1に対して、0.20≦Dp/P1≦0.60の関係を有する。かかる構成では、ショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32の円弧部313、326がタイヤ周方向に千鳥状に配列されるので、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅の増減(図9参照)を効率的に形成できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313の周方向長さLa1およびピッチ長P1が、0.80≦La1/P1≦1.00の関係を有する(図8参照)。これにより、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅の増減(図9参照)を効率的に形成できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ミドルブロック322の円弧部326の周方向長さLa2とエッジ部の周方向長さLe2とが、0.80≦La2/Le2≦1.00の関係を有する(図8参照)。これにより、ショルダー主溝21の溝幅の増減(図9参照)を効率的に形成できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤでは、ショルダー陸部31が、隣り合う円弧部313、313の接続部に開口するサイプ311(図7参照)あるいは細溝(図示省略)を有する。これにより、ウェット性能を維持しつつトラクション性能を向上できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ショルダー陸部31が、円弧部313の最大突出位置に開口するショルダーサイプ312を有する(図7参照)。これにより、ウェット性能を維持しつつトラクション性能を向上できる利点がある。
また、この空気入りタイヤ1では、ミドル陸部32が、円弧部326の最大突出位置に開口するミドルサイプ324を有する(図7参照)。これにより、ウェット性能を維持しつつトラクション性能を向上できる利点がある。
図10は、この発明の実施の形態にかかる空気入りタイヤの性能試験の結果を示す図表である。
この性能試験では、複数種類の試験タイヤについて、(1)騒音性能、(2)ウェット性能および(3)耐偏摩耗性能に関する評価が行われた。また、タイヤサイズ225/70R19.5の試験タイヤがJATMAの規定リムに組み付けられ、この試験タイヤにJATMAの規定内圧および規定荷重が付与される。また、試験タイヤが、試験車両である2ーD(ピックアップトラック)の前輪に装着される。
(1)騒音性能に関する評価では、UN R117-02環境規則の試験条件にて、車両の通過音が計測されて、評価が行われる。この評価は、従来例を基準(100)とした指数評価により行われ、その数値が大きいほど好ましい。
(2)ウェット性能に関する評価では、試験車両が水深1[mm]で散水したアスファルト路を走行し、5~20[km/h]の速度区間での加速度が測定される。そして、測定結果に基づいて従来例を基準(100)とした指数評価が行われる。評価は、その数値が大きいほど好ましい。
(3)耐偏摩耗性能に関する評価では、試験車両が舗装路を4万[km]走行し、その後にブロックに発生したヒール・アンド・トゥ摩耗が観察されて、評価が行われる。この評価は、従来例を基準(100)とした指数評価により行われ、その数値が大きいほど好ましい。また、評価が98以上であれば、性能が適正に確保されているといえる。
実施例1~16の試験タイヤは、図1および図2の構成を備え、ショルダー陸部31がタイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、ミドル陸部32およびセンター陸部33がラグ溝に区画されたブロック列である。また、タイヤ接地幅TWが190[mm]であり、ショルダー主溝21およびセンター主溝22の距離D1、D2が55.5[mm]および16.3[mm]である。また、ショルダー主溝21の最大溝幅W1が12.5[mm]であり、センター主溝22の最大溝幅W2が3.5[mm]である。また、ショルダー陸部31およびミドル陸部32の接地幅Wb1、Wb2が36.0[mm]および33.5[mm]である。また、ショルダー陸部31の円弧部313のピッチ長P1が43.0[mm]以上46.0[mm]以下であり、ミドル陸部32のミドルラグ溝322のピッチ長P2が43.0[mm]以上46.0[mm]以下である。
従来例の試験タイヤは、実施例1の構成において、センター陸部33が、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、ラグ溝を備えていない。また、ショルダー陸部31およびミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部がストレート形状を有することにより、ショルダー主溝21がストレート形状を有し、一方で、センター陸部33およびミドルブロック322のセンター主溝22側のエッジ部がショルダー陸部31およびミドルブロック322のショルダー主溝21側のエッジ部と同様な連続円弧形状および単一円弧形状を有することにより、センター主溝22の溝幅がタイヤ周方向で連続的に増減している。なお、図10の表では、比較のために、従来例のセンター主溝の数値がショルダー主溝の数値として記載されている。
試験結果に示すように、実施例1~16の試験タイヤでは、タイヤの騒音性能、ウェット性能および耐偏摩耗性能が向上することが分かる。

Claims (15)
- タイヤ赤道面を境界とする一方の領域に配置されたショルダー主溝およびセンター主溝と、前記ショルダー主溝に区画されたショルダー陸部およびミドル陸部とを備える空気入りタイヤであって、
前記ショルダー陸部が、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブであり、
前記ミドル陸部が、複数のミドルラグ溝と、前記ミドルラグ溝に区画された複数のミドルブロックとを備え、
1つの前記ミドルブロックの前記ショルダー主溝側のエッジ部に沿ったタイヤ周方向の区間Aを定義し、且つ、
前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅が、区間Aにて連続的に増減することを特徴とする空気入りタイヤ。 - 区間Aにおける前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅の極大点と極小点とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ldの最小値Ld_minが、前記ミドルラグ溝のピッチ長P2に対して0.20≦Ld_min/P2の関係を有する請求項1に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 区間Aにおける前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅の極大点と極小点とのタイヤ周方向の距離Ldの最小値Ld_minが、10[mm]≦Ld_minの範囲にある請求項1または2に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 区間Aにおける前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅の極値点が、3つ以上である請求項1~3のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 区間Aにおける前記ショルダー主溝の溝幅の極大値W1aおよび極小値W1bが、1.05≦W1a/W1b≦1.50の関係を有する請求項1~4のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー主溝のシースルー幅Dtと最大溝幅W1とが、0.60≦Dt/W1≦0.90の関係を有する請求項1~5のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部のエッジ部が、前記ショルダー主溝側に凸となる複数の円弧部を接続して成る形状を有し、且つ、
前記ミドルブロックのエッジ部が、前記ショルダー主溝側に凸となる単一の円弧部から成る形状を有する請求項1~6のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。 - 前記ショルダー陸部あるいは前記ミドルブロックの前記円弧部の曲率半径が、40[mm]以上150[mm]以下の範囲にある請求項7に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部あるいは前記ミドルブロックの前記円弧部の端部から最大突出位置までのタイヤ周方向の距離が、当該円弧部の周方向長さに対して40[%]以上60[%]以下の範囲にある請求項7または8に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部の前記円弧部の最大突出位置と、前記ミドルブロックの前記円弧部の最大突出位置とのタイヤ周方向の距離Dpが、前記ショルダー陸部の前記円弧部のピッチ長P1に対して、0.20≦Dp/P1≦0.60の関係を有する請求項7~9のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部の前記円弧部の周方向長さLa1およびピッチ長P1が、0.80≦La1/P1≦1.00の関係を有する請求項7~10のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ミドルブロックの前記円弧部の周方向長さLa2と前記エッジ部の周方向長さLe2とが、0.80≦La2/Le2≦1.00の関係を有する請求項7~11のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部が、隣り合う前記円弧部の接続部に開口するサイプあるいは細溝を有する請求項7~12のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ショルダー陸部が、前記円弧部の最大突出位置に開口するショルダーサイプを有する請求項7~13のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
- 前記ミドル陸部が、前記円弧部の最大突出位置に開口するミドルサイプを有する請求項7~14のいずれか一つに記載の空気入りタイヤ。
