一方、アシロキシシランや関連するケイ素化合物の応用に関しては、固体材料の表面処理方法の一つとして、トリエトキシまたはトリメトキシシラン等のトリアルコキシシランや、反応性がより高いトリアセトキシシラン等を、いわゆるシランカップリング剤として用いる方法が知られていた(非特許文献3)。

(式中、R7、R8、R9、およびR10は、それぞれ独立に炭素数1~12の炭化水素基または水素原子の一部がハロゲン原子で置換された炭素数1~12の炭化水素基であり、それらのうち少なくとも一つは、炭素数3以上である、アルケニル基である、あるいは、ハロゲン原子を含む。s、t、およびs+tは、0以上2以下の整数である。uおよび4-(s+t+u)は、1以上3以下の整数である。)

本発明の製造方法は、製造プロセスの低コスト化、高効率化を可能にするもので、従来技術に比べて経済性、環境負荷等の面で大きな利点を有すると考える。
本発明の製造方法は、アルコキシランシラン類を、触媒の存在下で、カルボン酸無水物と反応させる反応工程を含むことを特徴とする。

炭化水素基の具体例としては、アルキル基、アリール基、アラルキル基、アルケニル基等が挙げられる。
アリール基の水素原子の一部は、反応に関与しない基で置換されていてもよい。反応に関与しない基の具体例としては、上記のアルキル基の場合に示したもの等を挙げることができる。また、その他の反応に関与しない基として、環上の2つの炭素原子を結合させる2価の基であるオキシエチレン基やオキシエチレンオキシ基等が挙げられる。それらの基等を有するアリール基の具体例としては、メチルフェニル基、エチルフェニル基、ヘキシルフェニル基、メトキシフェニル基、エトキシフェニル基、ブトキシフェニル基、オクトキシフェニル基、メチル(メトキシ)フェニル基、フルオロ(メチル)フェニル基、クロロ(メトキシ)フェニル基、ブロモ(メトキシ)フェニル基、2,3-ジヒドロベンゾフラニル基、1,4-ベンゾジオキサニル基等が挙げられる。
反応に関与しない基の具体例としては、上記のアルキル基の場合について示したもの等を挙げることができる。
それらの基等を有するアラルキル基の具体例としては、ベンジル基、フェネチル基、2-ナフチルメチル基、9-アントリルメチル基、(4-クロロフェニル)メチル基、1-(4-メトキシフェニル)エチル基等が挙げられる。
反応に関与しない基の具体例としては、上記のアルキル基の場合について示したもの等の他、上記に示したアリール基等を挙げることができる。
それらの基等を有するアルケニル基の具体例としては、ビニル基、2-プロペニル基、3-ブテニル基、5-ヘキセニル基、9-デセニル基、2-フェニルエテニル基、2-(メトキシフェニル)エテニル基、2-ナフチルエテニル基、2-アントリルエテニル基等が挙げられる。

それら炭化水素基の具体例としては、アルキル基、アリール基、アラルキル基、アルケニル基等が挙げられ、反応に関与しない基の具体例としては、上記の一般式(I)のR1、R2、またはR3の説明において示したもの等を挙げることができる。
炭化水素基中の炭素数に関しては、炭化水素基がアルキル基の場合には、好ましくは1~20、より好ましくは1~18であり、アリール基の場合には、好ましくは4~20、より好ましくは4~18であり、アラルキル基の場合には、好ましくは5~21、より好ましくは5~19であり、アルケニル基の場合には、好ましくは2~20、より好ましくは2~18である。
それらの基の具体例としては、上記の一般式(I)のR1、R2、またはR3の説明において示したもの等を挙げることができる。
2価の炭化水素基の具体例としては、アルキレン基、アリーレン基、アルケニレン基等が挙げられ、反応に関与しない基の具体例としては、上記の一般式(I)のR1、R2、またはR3の説明において示したもの等を挙げることができる。
また、2価の炭化水素基中の炭素数に関しては、2価の炭化水素基がアルキレン基の場合には、好ましくは1~20、より好ましくは1~18であり、アリーレン基の場合には、好ましくは4~20、より好ましくは4~18であり、アルケニレン基の場合には、好ましくは2~20、より好ましくは2~18である。
それらの基の具体例としては、エチレン基、トリメチレン基、テトラメチレン基、ペンタメチレン基、ヘキサメチレン基、シクロヘキサン-1,2-ジイル基、4-メチルシクロ-1,2-ジイル基、1,2-フェニレン基、4-メチル-1,2-フェニレン基、4-ブロモ-1,2-フェニレン基、ビニレン基、2-メチルプロペニレン基等を挙げることができる。

また、一般式(IIID)において、R11、R12、R13、およびR14は、それぞれ独立に炭素数1~12の炭化水素基であり、R15は、炭素数2~8の2価の炭化水素基であり、v、w、x、およびv+w+xは、0以上3以下の整数であり、yは、1以上4-(v+w+x)以下の整数である。
さらに、一般式(IIIC)において、R7、R8、R9、およびR10のうち、炭素数3以上である、アルケニル基である、あるいは、ハロゲン原子を含む、少なくとも一つの炭化水素基の具体例としては、プロピル基、ブチル基、フェニル基、ビニル基、アリル基、クロロメチル基、ジクロロメチル基、トリクロロメチル基、クロロジフルオロメチル基、ペンタフルオロフェニル基、3,3,3-トリフルオロプロピル基、1H,1H,2H,2H-トリデカフルオロオクチル基、1H,1H,2H,2H-ヘプタデカフルオロデシル基等を挙げることができる。
一方、一般式(IIID)における炭素数2~8の2価の炭化水素基としては、アルキレン基、アリーレン基、アルケニレン基等を挙げることができ、それらの具体例としては、エチレン基、トリメチレン基、テトラメチレン基、1,2-フェニレン基、ビニレン基等を挙げることができる。
したがって、上記一般式(IIA)で表される非環状のカルボン酸無水物を用いた場合、本発明における反応はカルボン酸エステルの脱離を伴う反応となり、その反応工程は、モノアルコキシシラン類の反応ではたとえば下記反応式で表すことができる。
したがって、たとえば、非環状のカルボン酸無水物を用いる反応では、下記反応式に示すようなアシロキシシラン類を得ることができる。
本発明の製造方法により提供されるアシロキシシラン類は、アルコキシ基よりも反応性が高いアシロキシ基を有しているため、原料のアルコキシシラン類に比べて一般に高い反応性を有する。そのため、合成中間体として利用する際の反応や、表面処理剤、ゾル・ゲル材料等として利用する際の反応を、原料のアルコキシシラン類を用いる場合よりも温和な条件で、より効率的に行うことができると考えられ、機能性化学品として高い利用価値を有する。
酸触媒としては、触媒の分離・回収等が容易な固体酸触媒を用いることができる。
固体酸触媒の具体例としては、金属塩、金属酸化物等の固体無機物等が挙げられ、より具体的に示せば、プロトン性水素原子あるいは金属カチオン(アルミニウム、チタン、ガリウム、鉄、セリウム、スカンジウム等)を有する、ゼオライト、メソポーラスシリカ、モンモリロナイトなどのほか、シリカゲル、ヘテロポリ酸や、カーボン系素材を担体とする無機系固体酸が挙げられる。
さらに、ゼオライトのシリカ/アルミナ比(物質量比)については、反応条件に応じて各種の比を選択できるが、通常は3~1000であり、好ましくは3~800、より好ましくは5~600、さらに好ましくは5~400である。
さらに、ブレンステッド酸性またはルイス酸性を有する、固体酸以外の無機系または有機系の酸も触媒として使用できる。それらの具体例としては、無機系のものとしては、硫酸、硝酸、塩酸等のブレンステッド酸性の化合物や、塩化スカンジウム(III)、塩化イットリウム(III)、塩化チタン(IIIまたはIV)、塩化鉄(III)、臭化鉄(III)、過塩素酸鉄(III)、塩化ルテニウム(III)、塩化亜鉛(II)、フッ化ホウ素(III)、塩化ホウ素(III)、塩化アルミニウム(III)、臭化アルミニウム(III)、塩化ガリウム(III)、塩化インジウム(III)、塩化スズ(IV)、塩化ビスマス(III)等のルイス酸性の化合物が挙げられる。それらの化合物は、水和物の形態で使用してもよい。また、有機系のものとしては、トリフルオロメタンスルホン酸、ペンタフルオロエタンスルホン酸、ノナフルオロブタンスルホン酸、メタンスルホン酸、p-トルエンスルホン酸、ビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミド、ビス(ノナフルオロブタンスルホニル)イミド等のブレンステッド酸性の化合物が挙げられる。加えて、有機系のものとしては、それらブレンステッド酸性の化合物の金属塩やトリス(ペンタフルオロフェニル)ボラン等でルイス酸性の化合物も使用できる。ルイス酸性の金属塩中の金属カチオンの種類としては、スカンジウム(III)、イットリウム(III)、鉄(III)、コバルト(II)、銅(II)、銀(I)、亜鉛(II)、スズ(II)、ビスマス(III)等の他、ランタノイド系元素のランタン(III)、プラセジウム(III)、サマリウム(III)、ネオジム(III)、イッテリビウム(III)等が挙げられる。
それらの中で、触媒活性の点では、無機系の酸においては、鉄、ルテニウム、アルミニウム、スカンジウム、スズ、またはインジウムから選ばれる元素を含む、塩化物、臭化物、または、過塩素酸塩等が好ましく、それらの具体例としては、塩化鉄(III)、臭化鉄(III)、過塩素酸鉄(III)、塩化ルテニウム(III)、塩化インジウム(III)、塩化スズ(IV)等が挙げられる。また、それらの元素の塩化物や臭化物に、過塩素酸銀等を添加し、塩化物や臭化物を過塩素酸塩に変換して使用することも、好ましい方法である。
さらに、有機系の酸においては、スルホン酸、スルホニルイミド等が好ましく、それらの酸と、鉄、ルテニウム、アルミニウム、スカンジウム、スズ、またはインジウム等から選ばれる元素から生成する塩も好ましく使用される。それらのスルホン酸、スルホニルイミドの具体例としては、トリフルオロメタンスルホン酸、ノナフルオロブタンスルホン酸、メタンスルホン酸、ビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミド等が挙げられ、それらと塩を形成する元素のカチオン種としては、スカンジウム(III)、鉄(III)、ルテニウム(III)、アルミニウム(III)、ガリウム(III)、インジウム(III)、ビスマス(III)、スズ(IV)等が挙げられる。固体酸以外の無機系と有機系の酸は、それらを複数組み合わせて使用することもでき、上記の固体酸と組み合わせて使用することもできる。
反応温度は、通常は-20℃以上、好ましくは-10~300℃、より好ましくは、-10~200℃である。また、アルコールの反応性を制御するために、室温で反応を行う場合には、室温の温度範囲としては、通常は0~40℃、好ましくは5~40℃、より好ましくは10~35℃である。
さらに、反応圧力は、通常は0.1~100気圧で、好ましくは0.1~50気圧、より好ましくは0.1~10気圧である。
反応時間は、原料や触媒の量、反応温度、反応装置の形態等に依存するが、生産性や効率を考慮すると、通常は0.1~1200分、好ましくは0.1~600分、より好ましくは0.1~300分程度である。
また、生成したアシロキシシラン類の精製も、蒸留、再結晶、カラムクロマトグラフィー等の有機化学上通常用いられる手段により容易に達せられる。
本発明の製造方法により提供されるアシロキシシラン類は、アルコキシ基よりも反応性が高いアシロキシ基を有しているため、原料のアルコキシシラン類に比べて高い反応性を有し、合成中間体や表面処理剤等の機能性化学品として利用価値が高い。
たとえば、表面処理剤に関しては、ガラス等の固体材料に対して、室温で数分程度の温和な条件下で迅速に表面処理を行うことが可能で、使用するアシロキシシラン類の種類に応じて、固体材料表面の親水性・疎水性を容易に制御することができる。
また、本発明の表面処理剤は、上記の反応で製造されるアシロキシシラン類を含むもので、単離精製したアシロキシシラン類だけでなく、複数のアシロキシシラン類を含む混合溶液を使用することもできる。
さらに、本発明によるアシロキシシラン類の製造方法では、入手容易なアルコキシシラン類を原料として、さまざまなアシロキシシラン類を温和な条件下で簡便に製造できるため、アシロキシシラン類を含む反応液をそのまま使用する表面処理方法も、本発明の特長を示す方法である。
アシロキシシラン類を表面処理剤として用いる場合は、必要に応じて、トルエン、ヘキサン等のアシロキシシラン類と反応しない有機溶剤で希釈して用いることもできる。
固体材料の表面処理の方法については、ディップ法(浸漬法)、キャスト法、スピンコート法、スプレーコート法等、従来公知の各種の方法により行うことができる。
(エトキシ)トリメチルシラン(Ia) 3.2mmol、酢酸無水物(IIAa) 6.4mmol、ゼオライト CBV780(ゼオリスト社製) 5mgの混合物を反応管に入れ、マイクロ波照射装置(Biotage社Initiator)を用いて、110℃で5分攪拌した。生成物をガスクロマトグラフおよびガスクロマトグラフ質量分析計で分析し、生成物の収率をガスクロマトグラフ分析で測定した結果、(アセトキシ)トリメチルシラン(IIIAa)が89%の収率で生成したことがわかった(表1-1参照)。
反応条件(触媒、原料、温度、時間等)を変えて、実施例1と同様に反応および分析を行い、生成物の収率をガスクロマトグラフ分析または核磁気共鳴スペクトル分析で測定した結果を表1-1~表1-7に示す。
たとえば、(Ii)と(IIAa)の反応では、触媒が存在しない場合、表1-3の比較例1および2に示すように、25℃または100℃で20分撹拌の条件では、アシロキシシランはまったく得られなかったが、触媒を用いる本発明の方法では、実施例31に示すように、25℃で10分撹拌の条件でも、アシロキシシラン(IIIAo)を81%の良好な収率で得ることができた。
この結果は、本発明の方法による触媒を用いることにより、アシロキシシランを低温でも効率的に製造できることを示している。
たとえば、アルコキシシラン(Id)とカルボン酸無水物(IIAa)の反応では、表1-1の実施例20および22に示すように、触媒としてCBV780を用いて25℃で5分撹拌の条件、または、触媒としてCBV600を用いて110℃で5分撹拌の条件で反応を行うことにより、原料のアルコキシシラン中の2個のメトキシ基の1個がアセトキシ基に変換された化合物(IIIAi-1)と2個が変換された化合物(IIIAi-2)を、(≧99:1)の比で得ることができ、2個のメトキシ基のうちの1個だけを変換した化合物を選択的に得ることができた。一方、実施例21に示すように、触媒としてCBV780を用いて110℃で5分撹拌の条件で反応を行うことにより、(IIIAi-1)と(IIIAi-2)を(≦1:99)の比で得ることができ、2個のメトキシ基を全部アセトキシ基に変換した化合物を選択的に得ることができた。
また、アルコキシシラン(Ii)とカルボン酸無水物(IIAa)の反応では、表1-3~表1-4の実施例67~72に示すように、触媒の種類等によってアシロキシ基の導入量を制御でき、触媒として塩化ルテニウム(III)を使用する場合は、原料のアルコキシシラン中の2個のエトキシ基がアセトキシ基に変換された化合物(IIIAo-2)が主に得られ(実施例67)、触媒としてトリフルオロメタンスルホン酸アルミニウム(III)またはトリフルオロメタンスルホン酸を使用する場合は、原料のアルコキシシラン中の3個のエトキシ基がアセトキシ基に変換された化合物(IIIAo-3)が主に得られ(実施例68、72)、触媒として過塩素酸鉄(III)、ビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミドスカンジウム(III)、またはビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホニル)イミドインジウム(III)を使用する場合は、原料のアルコキシシラン中の4個のエトキシ基がアセトキシ基に変換された化合物(IIIAo-4)が主に得られた(実施例69~71)。さらに、触媒として過塩素酸鉄(III)を使用する場合に、溶媒としてアセトニトリルを使用して反応を行うと、原料のアルコキシシラン中の2個のエトキシ基がアセトキシ基に変換された化合物(IIIAo-2)を選択的に得ることができた(実施例72)。
これらの結果は、反応温度、触媒の種類、溶媒等の反応条件を適切に制御することにより、原料のアルコキシシラン中の複数のアルコキシ基の一部または全部を選択的にアシロキシ基に変換できることを示している。
たとえば、アルコキシシラン(Ia)とカルボン酸無水物(IIAc)の反応では、表1-2の実施例48および50に示すように、マイクロ波照射装置を用いて反応を行った場合のアシロキシシラン(IIIAc)の収率は、60℃で5分撹拌または80℃で5分撹拌の反応条件の場合、それぞれ41%または81%であった。一方、実施例49および51に示すように、マイクロ波照射装置の代わりにオイルバス加熱装置を用いて、同じ反応温度と時間で反応を行った場合の(IIIAc)の収率は、それぞれ36%または73%であった。
これらの結果は、本発明の製造方法が、オイルバス加熱等の通常加熱を用いる方法でも十分効率よく行うことができるが、マイクロ波加熱を用いることによりさらに効率よく行うことができることを示している。
(エトキシ)ジメチル(フェニル)シラン(Ib) 4.8mmol、酢酸無水物(IIAa) 19.3mmol、CBV780(ゼオリスト社製) 15mgの混合物を反応管に入れ密閉し、マイクロ波照射装置(バイオタージ製Initiator)を用いて、110℃で10分攪拌した。触媒の固体を遠心分離で分離し、上澄み液を分離した後、触媒をトルエンで洗浄し(1mLで1回)、先の上澄み液と洗浄液を合わせて減圧下濃縮して、ショートパス蒸留装置で蒸留を行った結果、(アセトキシ)ジメチル(フェニル)シラン(IIIAg)が、3.26mmol(収率68%)得られた。

メチルジ(メトキシ)(フェニル)シラン(Id) 7.5mmol、プロピオン酸無水物(IIAb) 11.3mmol、CBV780(ゼオリスト社製) 45mgの混合物を反応管に入れ密閉し、室温(25℃)で15分攪拌した。実施例86と同様に後処理および蒸留を行った結果、メチル(メトキシ)(フェニル)(プロパノイロキシ)シラン(IIIAj-1)が、5.78mmol(収率77%)得られた。

沸点:125-130℃/5mmHg(ショートパス蒸留での留出温度)

29Si-NMR (CDCl3): δ 23.6
トリ(エトキシ)(フェニル)シラン(Il) 2.0mmol、酢酸無水物(IIAa) 2.2mmol、CBV780(ゼオリスト社製) 10mgの混合物を反応管に入れ密閉し、室温(25℃)で20分攪拌した。触媒の固体を遠心分離で分離し、上澄み液をガスクロマトグラフ分析または核磁気共鳴スペクトル分析で測定した結果、アシロキシシラン((アセトキシ)ジ(エトキシ)(フェニル)シラン(IIIAs-1)およびジ(アセトキシ)(エトキシ)(フェニル)シラン(IIIAs-2)、(IIIAs-1):(IIIAs-2)=83:17)が、1.7mmol(収率84%)生成していることがわかった。
このアシロキシシランを含む上澄み液0.04mLをトルエン0.96mLに溶解して、表面処理用の溶液を調製した。調製溶液にガラス板(1.8×1.8cm)を室温で2分間浸漬し、トルエン3mLおよびアセトン3mLで順次洗浄し、80℃で5分間乾燥させた。ガラス板の水に対する接触角を、接触角計(協和界面科学製 自動接触角計 DMe-201)で測定した結果、未処理の状態の20°から処理後の状態の71°に変化したことがわかった。このことは、ガラス板の表面が、アシロキシシランにより修飾され、撥水性が高くなったことを示している(表3)。
トリ(エトキシ)(フェニル)シラン(Il) 0.04mlをトルエン0.96mLに溶解して、表面処理用の溶液を調製した。この溶液にガラス板(1.8×1.8cm)を室温で2分間浸漬し、実施例98と同様に、ガラス板を洗浄、乾燥後、水の接触角を測定した結果、接触角は23°で、未処理の状態の20°とほとんど同じであった。このことは、実施例98のアセトキシシランによる表面処理の場合とは異なり、原料のアルコキシシランのままでは固体材料表面との反応性が低く、同じ処理条件ではガラス板表面がほとんど修飾されないことを示している(表3)
反応条件(原料、温度、時間等)を変えて、実施例98と同様に、アルコキシシランの反応と分析を行い、得られたアシロキシランを用いてガラス板の表面処理を行った結果を表3に示す。
Claims (13)
- アルコキシシラン類とカルボン酸無水物を触媒存在下で反応させる反応工程を含むアシロキシシラン類の製造方法であって、前記アルコキシシラン類が、下記一般式(I)で表されるアルコキシシラン類であり、前記カルボン酸無水物が、下記一般式(IIA)または(IIB)で表されるカルボン酸無水物であり、前記触媒が、酸触媒であり、前記反応工程で得られるアシロキシシラン類が、下記一般式(IIIA)または(IIIB)で表されるアシロキシシラン類であることを特徴とする、アシロキシシラン類の製造方法。

(式中、p、q、r、およびp+q+rは、0以上3以下の整数である。R1、R2、およびR3は、それぞれ独立に炭素数1~24の炭化水素基または水素原子であり、R4は、炭素数1~6のアルキル基である。R1、R2、およびR3が、炭化水素基である場合、炭化水素基の水素原子の一部が反応に関与しない基で置換されていてもよい。)
(R5CO)2O (IIA)
(式中、R5は、炭素数1~24の炭化水素基であり、炭化水素基の水素原子の一部が反応に関与しない基で置換されていてもよい。)
(式中、R6は、炭素数2~24の2価の炭化水素基であり、炭化水素基の水素原子の一部が反応に関与しない基で置換されていてもよい。)

(式中、p、q、r、R1、R2、R3、R4、およびR5は、それぞれ前記と同義であり、sは、1以上4-(p+q+r)以下の整数である。)
(式中、p、q、r、R1、R2、R3、R4、およびR6は、それぞれ前記と同義であり、sは、1以上4-(p+q+r)以下の整数である。) - 前記酸触媒が、無機系または有機系の酸である、請求項1に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記無機系の酸が、規則的細孔および/または層状構造を有する無機系固体酸である、請求項2に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記無機系固体酸が、ゼオライトおよび/またはモンモリロナイトである、請求項3に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記ゼオライトのシリカ/アルミナ比(物質量比)が3~1000である、請求項4に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記ゼオライトが、USY型、ベータ型、Y型、ZSM-5型、およびモルデナイト型からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である、請求項4又は5に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記無機系の酸が、鉄、ルテニウム、アルミニウム、スカンジウム、スズ、またはインジウムから選ばれる元素を含む、塩化物、臭化物、または過塩素酸塩である、請求項2に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記無機系または有機系の酸が、スルホン酸、スルホニルイミド、または、それらの酸と、鉄、ルテニウム、アルミニウム、スカンジウム、スズ、またはインジウムから選ばれる元素から生成する塩である、請求項2に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 前記反応工程がマイクロ波照射下で行われる、請求項1~8の何れか1項に記載のアシロキシシラン類の製造方法。
- 下記一般式(IIIC)または(IIID)で表されるアシロキシシラン類。

(式中、R7、R8、R9、およびR10は、それぞれ独立に炭素数1~12の炭化水素基または水素原子の一部がハロゲン原子で置換された炭素数1~12の炭化水素基であり、それらのうち少なくとも一つは、炭素数3以上である、アルケニル基である、あるいは、ハロゲン原子を含む。s、t、およびs+tは、0以上2以下の整数である。uおよび4-(s+t+u)は、1以上3以下の整数である。)
(式中、R11、R12、R13、およびR14は、それぞれ独立に炭素数1~12の炭化水素基であり、R15は、炭素数2~8の2価の炭化水素基である。v、w、x、およびv+w+xは、0以上3以下の整数である。yは、1以上4-(v+w+x)以下の整数である。) - 請求項1~9の何れかに記載の方法で製造されるアシロキシシラン類を含む表面処理剤。
- 請求項10に記載の一般式(IIIC)または(IIID)で表されるアシロキシシラン類を含む表面処理剤。
- 請求項11または12に記載の表面処理剤を用いて、固体材料の表面処理を行う方法。
