Definitions
- the present invention relates to a perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound (fluorooxymethylene group-containing perfluoropolyether modified product).
- the present invention also relates to a surface treatment agent containing such a perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound.
- fluorine-containing silane compounds can provide excellent water repellency, oil repellency, antifouling properties and the like when used for surface treatment of a substrate.
- a layer obtained from a surface treatment agent containing a fluorine-containing silane compound (hereinafter also referred to as “surface treatment layer”) is applied as a so-called functional thin film to various substrates such as glass, plastic, fiber, and building materials. ing.
- a perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound having a perfluoropolyether group in the molecular main chain and a hydrolyzable group bonded to a Si atom at the molecular terminal or terminal part is known. It has been.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 describe a perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound having a hydrolyzable group bonded to a Si atom at the molecular terminal or terminal part.
- the surface treatment layer is required to have high durability in order to provide a desired function to the base material over a long period of time. Since the layer obtained from the surface treatment agent containing a perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound can exhibit the above-described functions even in a thin film, it is suitable for optical members such as glasses and touch panels that require optical transparency or transparency. In particular, these applications are required to further improve the friction durability.
- the layer obtained from the surface treatment agent containing the conventional perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound as described above is no longer necessarily sufficient to meet the increasing demand for improved friction durability.
- the present invention provides a novel perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound capable of forming a layer having water repellency, oil repellency, antifouling properties, waterproof properties and high friction durability.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an intermediate in the production of the perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a surface treatment agent containing such a perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound.
- the present inventors have determined that the ratio of the ethylene chain to the methylene chain in the perfluoro (poly) ether group is 0.2 or more and less than 0.9 in the perfluoro (poly) ether group-containing silane compound. As a result, it was found that a surface treatment layer having better friction durability can be formed, and the present invention has been completed.

- Test example 1 Surface slip evaluation (measurement of dynamic friction coefficient) The coefficient of dynamic friction was measured for the surface treatment layers formed on the substrate surface in Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 described above. Specifically, using a surface property measuring machine (Labthink FPT-1), paper was used as a friction element, and the dynamic friction coefficient ( ⁇ ) was measured in accordance with ASTM D4917. Specifically, the equipment on which the surface treatment layer is formed is placed horizontally, the friction paper (2 cm ⁇ 2 cm) is brought into contact with the exposed upper surface of the surface treatment layer, a load of 200 gf is applied thereon, and then the load is applied. Under the above conditions, the friction paper was moved in equilibrium at a speed of 500 mm / second, and the dynamic friction coefficient was measured. Four samples were measured for each. The results are shown in Table 1.
- Test example 2 Friction durability evaluation About the surface treatment layer formed in the base-material surface in said Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2, friction durability was evaluated by the eraser friction durability test. Specifically, a sample article on which a surface treatment layer is formed is placed horizontally, and an eraser (Kokuyo Co., Ltd., KESHI-70, plane size: 1 cm ⁇ 1.6 cm) is brought into contact with the surface of the surface treatment layer. A load of 500 gf was applied, and then the eraser was reciprocated at a speed of 20 mm / sec with the load applied. The static contact angle (degree) of water was measured every 1000 reciprocations. The evaluation was stopped when the measured value of the contact angle was less than 100 degrees. The results are shown in Table 2.
- the surface treating agent (Examples 1 and 2) using the perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound of the present invention having an EM ratio within the scope of the present invention is excellent.
- the surface slipperiness small coefficient of dynamic friction
- the surface treatment agent (Comparative Example 1) using a conventional perfluoropolyether group-containing silane compound having an EM ratio larger than 9.0 is more slippery and less friction than the surface treatment agent of the present invention.
- the durability was inferior. This is considered that the friction durability was improved because the content ratio of the methyloxy chain of the perfluoropolyether chain in the present invention is larger than that of the conventional product, and the slipperiness of the surface is further improved.
- the present invention can be suitably used for forming a surface treatment layer on the surface of a variety of substrates, particularly optical members that require transparency.
