Description

ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスおよびその製造方法
 本発明は、ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスおよびその製造方法に関する。
 ペン入力装置は、入力ペンを用いて、紙上に文字および図形等を描写する感覚で入力操作を行うことができるという特徴を有し、タブレット型携帯情報端末、電子手帳、画像描画用ペンタブレット、およびタブレット型パーソナルコンピュータ等に、幅広く使用されている。
 このようなペン入力装置は、例えば液晶ディスプレイのようなディスプレイ装置の前面に、例えばガラスや樹脂のようなカバー部材を配置することにより構成される。このカバー部材に対して入力ペンを接触、移動させることにより、様々な入力操作を直感的に行うことができる。
 特許文献1には、ペン入力装置のカバー部材として、表面に防眩層を有する樹脂シートを使用することが記載されている。このようなカバー部材を使用することにより、ペン入力時の筆記感(「書き味」)が高まる上、表面に付着した指紋が目立ち難くなることが開示されている。

 前述の特許文献1に記載のペン入力装置用カバー部材では、入力ペンの筆記感(「書き味」)を高めるため、樹脂シートの表面に防眩層が配置される。
 しかしながら、このような防眩層は、そのアンチグレア特性のため、カバー部材の透明性を低下させる要因となる。例えば、特許文献1に記載のペン入力装置用カバー部材の場合、ヘイズ値は6%以上であり、比較的透明性が低いという問題がある。
 特に、最近はディスプレイ装置の高精細化が進んでおり、今後、ペン入力装置に対しても、高精細性に関するニーズが高まることが考えられる。従って、このような防眩層を有するカバー部材では、ペン入力装置の高精細化のニーズに応えることは難しくなることが予想される。
 本発明は、このような背景に鑑みなされたものであり、本発明では、筆記感(「書き味」)に優れるとともに、高精細なペン入力装置用のカバーガラスを提供することを目的とする。また、本発明では、そのようなペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明では、ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 当該カバーガラスの表面において、150gf(1.47N)の荷重を受けた移動部材を、室温で10mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μは、0.14以上0.50以下であり、前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)は、0.03以下であり、
 前記移動部材は、ロックウェル硬度がM90のポリアセタール系樹脂製のペン先を有し、該ペン先が700μmの曲率半径を有するペンであることを特徴とするカバーガラスが提供される。
 また、本発明では、ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 当該カバーガラスの表面において、移動部材を一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラスが提供される。
 また、本発明では、使用者によって情報が入力される入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、当該カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラスが提供される。
 また、本発明では、ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法であって、
 (a)ガラス基板の表面にフッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスを接触させる工程であって、
 前記(a)の工程後に、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 移動部材を一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下である前記ガラス基板が得られることを特徴とするカバーガラスの製造方法が提供される。
 さらに、本発明では、ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法であって、
 (a)ガラス基板の表面にフッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスを接触させる工程であって、
 前記(a)の工程後に、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 ロックウェル硬度がM90のポリアセタール系樹脂製のペン先を有し、該ペン先が700μmの曲率半径を有するペンを、150gf(1.47N)の荷重で、室温で10mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μは、0.14以上0.50以下であり、前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)は、0.03以下となる前記ガラス基板が得られることを特徴とするカバーガラスの製造方法が提供される。
 本発明では、筆記感(「書き味」)に優れるとともに、高精細なペン入力装置用のカバーガラスを提供することができる。また、本発明では、そのようなペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法を提供することができる。

 以下、本発明の一形態について詳しく説明する。
 (本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラス(「第1のカバーガラス」とも言う)について)
 前述のように、特許文献1に記載のペン入力装置用カバー部材では、入力ペンの筆記感(「書き味」)を高めるため、樹脂シートの表面に防眩層が配置される。
 しかしながら、このような防眩層の設置は、そのアンチグレア特性のため、カバー部材の透明性を低下させる要因となる。例えば、特許文献1に記載のペン入力装置用カバー部材の場合、ヘイズ値は6%以上である。このような比較的高いヘイズ値を有するカバー部材では、将来のペン入力装置の高精細化のニーズに応えることは難しいと思われる。
 これに対して、本発明の一実施例では、
 ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 当該カバーガラスの表面において、移動部材(合成皮革)を一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラスが提供される。
 また、当該カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であっても良い。
 ここで、ヘイズ値は、カバーガラスの不透明性を表す指標であり、ヘイズ値が低いほど、カバーガラスの透明性は高くなる。本願では、ヘイズ値は、JIS K7361-1に準拠した方法で測定される。
 本発明の一実施例では、カバーガラスは、アンチグレア構造を有さないため、1%未満の低いヘイズ値を示す。すなわち、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスは、透明性が高いという特徴を有する。
 従って、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスは、今後のディスプレイ装置の高精細化による、ペン入力装置の高精細性に対するニーズにも十分に対応することが可能となる。
 また、マルテンス硬さは、カバーガラスの表面の柔らかさを表す指標であり、本願では、ISO 14577に準拠した方法で測定される。
 カバーガラスの表面において、マルテンス硬さは、入力ペンの操作時の「へこみ」に寄与する。すなわち、マルテンス硬さが小さすぎると、耐擦傷性が低下してしまう。一方、マルテンス硬さが大きくなりすぎると、カバーガラスの「へこみ」が少なく硬さを感じるようになり、入力ペン操作時の違和感が高まったり、疲れやすくなったりする。
 本発明の一実施例において、カバーガラスは、2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲のマルテンス硬さを有する。この場合、入力ペン操作時に、感覚的に適度な「へこみ」が得られ、筆記感が向上する。また、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスは、2000N/mm以上のマルテンス硬さを有するため、カバーガラスの耐久性が向上するという付随の効果も得られる。
 本発明の一実施例において、マルテンス硬さは、2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であることが好ましく、2000N/mm~3500N/mmの範囲であることがより好ましい。
 また、本発明の一実施例では、カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、前記領域における前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であると言う特徴を有する。
 Y値は、0.05以下であることが好ましく、0.04以下がさらに好ましい。また、動摩擦係数μは0.9~4.0の範囲であることが好ましく、0.9~3.5の範囲であることがさらに好ましい。Y値が0.05以上であると入力ペンにかかる抵抗が不規則になるため、入力ペンの引っかかり(ビビリ)感が大きくなり書き味を損ねる。一方、Y値が0.04以下であると書き味がさらに向上する。また、Y値の下限に特に制限はないが、Y値が小さい方が、引っかかり感が小さくなり「書き味」がスムースになる。
 また、Y値が0.05以下である場合、入力ペンの操作の際の音鳴りが有意に抑制され、ユーザの不快感を解消または軽減することができる。
 動摩擦係数μが0.9以下になると書き味が軽くなり、4.0以上になると重くなる。動摩擦係数μ値は、用途によって適宜設定可能であるが、本実施態様においては、上記の範囲であっても良い。
 このような特徴により、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスでは、筆記感(「書き味」)を有意に向上することができる。
 以下、図面を参照して、この効果について詳しく説明する。
 図1には、一定荷重Pを受けた物体がある表面(以下、「移動表面」という)を一定の速度で移動する際の時間t(または移動距離)と摩擦力Fの関係を模式的に示す。
 図1に示すように、一般に、物体が定常的に動き始めた以降(時間t=t以降)は、摩擦力F(動摩擦力F)と時間tの間には、直線的な関係が得られる。特に、この時間領域では、動摩擦力Fは、時間によらず比較的一定の値となる場合が多い。
 また、一般に、動摩擦力F(N)と荷重P(N)の間には以下の関係が成り立つ:

 ここで、μは動摩擦係数であり、移動表面の状態等によって変化する。
 図2~図4には、移動表面の状態が異なる場合の動摩擦力F(N)と時間tの関係を模式的に示す。
 図2には、移動表面が極めて平滑な場合に得られる挙動を示す。このような移動表面では、動摩擦係数μが小さいためY値が大きくなりやすく引っかかりを感じやすくなる。また、動摩擦係数μが小さくなり、従って、動摩擦力Fも小さくなる。
 このような表面を有するカバーガラスに対して入力ペンを使用した場合、入力ペンが滑りすぎて、意図する入力操作を行うことが難しくなる。
 次に、図3には、移動表面が激しい凹凸を有する場合に得られる挙動を示す。このような移動表面では、物体の移動中の動摩擦係数μの変動が大きくなり、従って、動摩擦力Fの変動も大きくなる。その結果、Y値が大きくなり、引っかかりをより感じやすくなる。
 このような表面を有するカバーガラスに対して入力ペンを使用した場合、入力ペンが「引っかかる」感覚が生じ、書き味が悪くなるとともに、使用者のストレスが高くなる。
 これに対して、移動表面が両者の中間の状態を有する場合、動摩擦力F(N)と時間tの間には、図4に示すような関係が得られる。
 すなわち、そのような移動表面では、Y値が小さくなるとともに、動摩擦力Fおよび動摩擦係数μが適度に大きな値を示し、さらに動摩擦力Fおよび動摩擦係数μの変動が有意に抑制される。
 このような表面を有するカバーガラスに対して入力ペンを使用した場合、入力ペンをカバーガラスに対して移動する際に、適度の抵抗力が得られるため、入力ペンの意図しない滑りが生じにくくなる。また、動摩擦係数μの変動が有意に抑制されるため、入力ペンの移動中の「引っかかり」も感じにくくなる。従って、このような表面では、入力ペンをカバーガラスに接触、移動させた際に、筆記感(「書き味」)が向上する。
 ここで本発明の一実施例は、 動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域(図1~図4のt以降の時間参照)における前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であると言う特徴を有する。
 この場合、動摩擦力F(N)と時間tの間に図3に示す関係が得られるような移動表面で起こり得る、前述の入力ペンの「引っかかり」が生じにくくなる。従って、入力ペンの操作に対する違和感が少なくなり、入力ペンを意図した通りに移動させることができる。
 このように、本発明の一実施例では、カバーガラスの表面が、動摩擦力F(N)と時間tの間に図4に示すような関係が得られるように調整されており、これにより、筆記感(「書き味」)を高めることができる。
 上記書き味が得られる領域は、カバーガラスの少なくとも一部に設けられればよい。また、カバーガラスの表面は、互いに異なるσ/Fの値Yを有する複数の領域で構成されてもよい。これにより、カバーガラス上の所定の位置が、筆記感の相違によって認識可能となる。
 ここで、本発明の一実施例は、カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域(図1~図4のt以降の時間参照)における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であるという特徴を有する。
 この場合、入力ペンをカバーガラスに対して移動する際に、適度の抵抗力が得られる。従って、動摩擦力F(N)と時間tの間に図2に示すような関係が得られるような移動表面で起こり得る、入力ペンの意図しない滑りが生じにくくなる。
 本発明の一実施例において、カバーガラスの表面粗さRa(算術平均粗さ)は、0.2nm~20nmの範囲であり、表面粗さRz(最大高さ粗さ)は、3.5nm~200nmの範囲であることが好ましい。表面粗さRaは、例えば、1nm~15nmの範囲である。また、表面粗さRzは、例えば、20nm~150nmの範囲である。
 なお、本願において、表面粗さRaおよび表面粗さRzは、JIS B0601(2001年)に準拠して得られた値を意味するものとする。
 また、カバーガラスの表面は、水滴に対する接触角が100°以上であることが好ましい。この場合、指紋が付着しにくいカバーガラスを得ることができる。水滴に対する接触角は、例えば、110°以上であっても良い。なお、そのような効果は、例えば、カバーガラスの表面に、指紋付着防止材をコーティングすることにより発現させても良い。
このコーティングは、カバーガラスの表面の少なくとも一部に適用されればよい。これにより、カバーガラス上の所定の位置が、筆記感の相違によって認識可能となる。
 (本発明の一実施例による別のカバーガラス(「第2のカバーガラス」とも言う)について)
 次に、本発明の一実施例による第2のカバーガラスについて説明する。
 第2のカバーガラスは、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 当該カバーガラスの表面において、150gf(1.47N)の荷重を受けた移動部材を、室温で10mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μは、0.14以上0.50以下であり、前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)は、0.03以下であり、
 前記移動部材は、ロックウェル高度がM90のポリアセタール系樹脂製のペン先を有し、該ペン先が700μmの曲率半径を有するペンであることを特徴とする。
 このような特徴を有する第2のカバーガラスにおいても、以下に詳しく示すように、前述の第1のカバーガラスと同様の効果、すなわち、
 ペン入力装置の高精細性に対するニーズにも対応可能な高い透明性;
 感覚的に適度な「へこみ」および有意に良好な耐久性;ならびに
 有意に良好な筆記感(書き味);
を得ることができる。
 ここで、上記書き味が得られる領域は、カバーガラスの少なくとも一部に設けられればよい。また、カバーガラスの表面は、互いに異なる動摩擦係数数μおよび動摩擦力の標準偏差σを有する複数の領域で構成されてもよい。これにより、カバーガラス上の所定の位置が、筆記感の相違によって認識可能となる。
 (本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスの他の特徴について)
 (カバーガラスの組成)
 本発明の一実施例において、カバーガラスの組成は、特に限られない。カバーガラスは、例えば、ソーダライムシリケートガラス、アルミノシリケートガラス、および無アルカリガラス等で構成されても良い。
 カバーガラスのガラス組成としては、モル%濃度で61~77%のSiO、1~18%のAl、8~18%のNaO、0~6%のKO、0~15%のMgO、0~8%のB、0~9%のCaO、0~1%のSrO、0~1%のBaO、および0~4モル%のZrOを含む。
 SiOはガラスの骨格を構成する成分であり必須である。61モル%未満では、ガラス表面に傷がついた時にクラックが発生しやすくなる、耐候性が低下する、比重が大きくなる、または液相温度が上昇しガラスが不安定になる等が起こりやすいため、好ましくは63モル%以上である。SiOが77モル%超では粘度が10dPa・sとなる温度T2または粘度が10dPa・sとなる温度T4が上昇しガラスの溶解または成形が困難となる、または耐候性が低下しやすいため、好ましくは70モル%以下である。
 Alはイオン交換性能および耐候性を向上させる成分であり必須である。1モル%未満ではイオン交換により所望の表面圧縮応力や圧縮応力層厚みが得られにくい、または耐候性が低下しやすい等から、好ましくは5モル%以上である。18モル%超では、T2もしくはT4が上昇しガラスの溶解もしくは成形が困難となる、または液相温度が高くなり失透しやすくなる。
 NaOはイオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきを小さくする、イオン交換により表面圧縮応力層を形成させる、またはガラスの溶融性を向上させる成分であり、必須である。8モル%未満ではイオン交換により所望の表面圧縮応力層を形成することが困難となる、または、T2もしくはT4が上昇しガラスの溶解もしくは成形が困難となるため、好ましくは10モル%以上である。NaOが18モル%超では耐候性が低下する、または圧痕からクラックが発生しやすくなる。
 KOは必須ではないがイオン交換速度を増大させる成分であり、6モル%まで含有してもよい。6モル%超ではイオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、圧痕からクラックが発生しやすくなる、または耐候性が低下する。
 MgOは溶融性を向上させる成分であり含有しても良い。MgOが15モル%超ではイオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、液相温度が上昇し失透しやすくなる、またはイオン交換速度が低下するため、好ましくは12モル%以下である。
 Bは溶融性向上のために8モル%以下であることが好ましい。8モル%超では均質なガラスを得にくくなり、ガラスの成型が困難になるおそれがある。
 CaOは高温での溶融性を向上させる、または失透を起こりにくくするために9モル%まで含有してもよいが、イオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、またはイオン交換速度もしくはクラック発生に対する耐性が低下するおそれがある。
 SrOは高温での溶融性を向上させる、または失透を起こりにくくするために1モル%以下で含有してもよいが、イオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、または、イオン交換速度もしくはクラック発生に対する耐性が低下するおそれがある。
 BaOは高温での溶融性を向上させる、または失透を起こりにくくするために1モル%以下で含有してもよいが、イオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、またはイオン交換速度もしくはクラック発生に対する耐性が低下するおそれがある。
 ZrOは必須成分ではないが、表面圧縮応力を大きくする、または耐候性を向上させる等のため、4モル%まで含有してもよい。4モル%超ではイオン交換時の表面圧縮応力のばらつきが大きくなる、またはクラック発生に対する耐性が低下する。
 (寸法)
 カバーガラスの寸法および形状は、特に限られない。カバーガラスは、例えば、0.3mm~2.0mmの厚さを有しても良い。また、カバーガラスの形状は、略矩形状の他、略円形、および略楕円形等であっても良い。また、カバーガラスは、平坦であっても、若干湾曲していても良い。
 (化学強化処理)
 カバーガラスは、化学強化処理されていても良い。これにより、カバーガラスの強度を高めることができる。
 (ペン入力装置について)
 次に、図5を参照して、前述のような特徴を有する本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスの適用例について説明する。
 なお、ここでは、前述の第1のカバーガラスを例に、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスの適用例について説明する。ただし、前述の第2のカバーガラスにおいても、同様の説明が適用できることは、当業者には明らかであろう。
 図5には、本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスを備えたペン入力装置の一例の断面を概略的に示す。
 図5に示すように、このペン入力装置100は、カバーガラス110と、ディスプレイ装置120と、デジタイザー回路130とを有する。
 カバーガラス110は、前述のような特徴を有する本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスであり、ディスプレイ装置120の前面に配置される。
 ディスプレイ装置120は、画像を表示できる装置であれば特に限られない。ディスプレイ装置120は、例えば、液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)、プラズマディスプレイ(PDP)、エレクトロルミネッセント(EL)ディスプレイ、またはブラウン管(CRT)ディスプレイ等で構成されても良い。
 デジタイザー回路130は、ディスプレイ装置120の後面に配置され、電極140、スペーサー150、グリッド160、および検出回路170を有する。
 このようなペン入力装置100に入力操作を行う際には、入力ペン180が使用される。
 入力ペン180は、鉛筆またはボールペン等の筆記用具を模擬した形状となっており、入力ペン180をカバーガラス110の表面に接触させ、描画する動作を行うことにより、入力操作が可能となる。例えば、入力ペン180は、該入力ペン180自体に回路を有しても良く、この場合、入力ペン180とペン入力装置100とにより、電磁誘導を利用した入力システムが構築される。
 前述のように、カバーガラス110は、アンチグレア構造を有さず、透明性が高いという特徴を有する。このため、ディスプレイ装置120に高精細な装置が使用された場合であっても、カバーガラス110によって、ディスプレイ装置120の高精細性が損なわれるという問題が有意に抑制される。
 従って、ペン入力装置100では、従来に比べて、高精細な描画およびより繊細な入力操作が可能となる。例えば、ペン入力装置100がタブレット式画像描画装置の場合、より繊細で豊かな表現を行うことができるようになる。
 また、カバーガラス110は、前述のように、マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲に調整されている。このため、入力ペン180による操作時に、カバーガラス110には感覚的に適度な「へこみ」が得られ、入力ペン180による筆記感が向上する。
 また、カバーガラス110の耐久性が向上し、その結果、耐久性に優れたペン入力装置100を提供することができる。
 さらに、カバーガラス110は、前述のように、カバーガラス110の表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、前記領域における前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であるという特徴を有する。
 このため、ペン入力装置100に対して入力ペン180を使用した際に、カバーガラス110に対して入力ペン180が滑りすぎたり、反対に滑りが悪くなったりして、入力ペン180の軽快な動きが損なわれるという問題が生じ難くなる。
 従って、ペン入力装置100では、入力ペン180の操作性が高まり、良好な書き味を実現することが可能となる。
 なお、図5に示したペン入力装置100は、単なる一例に過ぎず、本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスは、いかなる構造のペン入力装置にも適用することができる。例えば、ペン入力装置は、タブレット型携帯情報端末、電子手帳、画像描画用ペンタブレット、およびタブレット型パーソナルコンピュータ等であっても良い。
 (本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスの製造方法)
 次に、図6を参照して、前述のような特徴を有する本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスの製造方法について説明する。
 図6には、本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスの製造方法(以下、「第1の製造方法」と称する)の概略的なフローを示す。図6に示すように、この第1の製造方法は、
 (a)ガラス基板の表面に、フッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスを接触させる工程(ステップS110)と、
 (b)前記ガラス基板を化学強化処理する工程(ステップS120)と、
 (c)前記ガラス基板に指紋付着防止材をコーティングする工程(ステップS130)と、
 を有する。ただし、ステップS120およびステップS130は、任意に実施されるステップであり、何れか一方または両方は、省略されても良い。
 以下、各工程について説明する。
 (ステップS110)
 まず、ガラス基板が準備される。
 ガラス基板の種類は、特に限られない。例えば、ガラス基板は、ソーダライムシリケートガラス、アルミノシリケートガラス、または無アルカリガラスであっても良い。ただし、次工程(ステップS120)において化学強化処理を実施する場合、ガラス基板は、アルカリ金属元素を含む必要がある。
 なお、ガラス基板に、アルカリ金属元素、アルカリ土類金属元素、および/またはアルミニウムが含まれる場合、フッ化水素(HF)ガスによる処理の際に、ガラス基板の表面近傍にフッ素化合物が残留しやすくなる。
 このような残留フッ素化合物は、ガラス基板の光透過率の向上に寄与する。すなわち、残留フッ素化合物の屈折率(n)は、通常、ガラス基板の屈折率(n)と、空気の屈折率(n)の間の屈折率を有する。このため、ガラス基板、フッ素化合物、および空気がこの順に配置されることにより、ガラス基板の光透過率が向上する。
 ガラス基板は、350nm~800nmの波長領城に高い透過率、例えば80%以上の透過率を有することが好ましい。また、ガラス基板は、十分な絶縁性を有し、化学的物理的耐久性が高いことが望ましい。
 ガラス基板の製造方法は、特に限られない。ガラス基板は、例えばフロート法で製造しても良い。
 ガラス基板の厚さは、2mm以下であることが好ましく、例えば、0.3mm~1.5mmの範囲であっても良い。ガラス基板の厚さは、0.5mm~1.1mmの範囲であることがより好ましい。ガラス基板の厚さが2mm以上の場合、重量が上昇して軽量化が難しくなり、また原材料コストが上昇してしまう。
 次に、準備されたガラス基板がフッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスに晒され、ガラス基板の「エッチング処理」が実施される。
 なお、本願において、「エッチング処理」とは、実際のエッチング量にかかわらず、フッ化水素を含む処理ガスを、ガラス基板の表面に接触させる処理を意味する。従って、実際には、エッチング量が極めて少ない処理(例えば、1nm~200nmオーダの凹凸が形成されるレベルの処理)であっても、そのような処理は、「エッチング処理」に含まれる。
 この工程は、ガラス基板の表面に、例えば1nm~200nmのオーダの微細な凹凸からなる処理層を形成するために実施される。これらの微細な凹凸の存在により、ガラス基板に反射防止性が発現し、透過性の高いガラス基板を得ることができる。
 エッチング処理の温度は、特に限られないが、通常、エッチング処理は、400℃~800℃の範囲で実施される。エッチング処理の温度は、500℃~700℃の範囲であることが好ましく、550℃~650℃の範囲であることがより好ましい。
 ここで、処理ガスは、フッ化水素ガスの他、キャリアガスおよび希釈ガスを含んでも良い。キャリアガス、希釈ガスとしては、これに限られるものではないが、例えば、窒素および/またはアルゴン等が使用される。また、水を加えても構わない。
 処理ガス中のフッ化水素ガスの濃度は、ガラス基板の表面が適正にエッチング処理される限り、特に限られない。処理ガス中のフッ化水素ガスの濃度は、例えば、0.1vol%~10vol%の範囲であり、0.3vol%~5vol%の範囲であることが好ましく、0.5vol%~4vol%の範囲であることがより好ましい。このとき、処理ガス中のフッ化水素ガスの濃度(vol%)は、フッ素ガス流量/(フッ素ガス流量+キャリアガス流量+希釈ガス流量)より求められる。
 ガラス基板のエッチング処理は、反応容器中で実施しても良いが、ガラス基板が大きい場合など、必要な場合、ガラス基板のエッチング処理は、ガラス基板を搬送させた状態で実施しても良い。この場合、反応容器中での処理に比べて、より迅速かつ高効率な処理が可能となる。
 ここで、後述するように、本発明による第1の製造方法において、エッチング処理は、ガラス基板が過度にエッチングされない条件で実施されることが好ましい。ガラス基板に対して、過度のエッチング処理を実施した場合、得られるカバーガラスの書き味が低下するからである。
 なお、ガラス基板のエッチングの程度は、処理温度、フッ化水素ガスの濃度、および処理時間等に大きな影響を受けるため、本願では、これらの条件を組み合わせた相対的な指標として、「エッチング強度」と言う用語を使用することにする。
 例えば、処理温度、フッ化水素ガスの濃度、および処理時間の少なくとも一つが比較的小さな値を示す条件では、これらが「標準的な」値を有する条件に比べて、「エッチング強度」が小さいと表現することができる。この場合、ガラス基板に対するエッチングの程度は、「標準的な」値を有する条件に比べて小さくなる。
 また、例えば、処理温度、フッ化水素ガスの濃度、および処理時間の少なくとも一つが比較的大きな値を示す条件では、これらが「標準的な」値を有する条件に比べて、「エッチング強度」が大きいと表現することができる。この場合、ガラス基板に対するエッチングの程度は、「標準的な」値を有する条件に比べて大きくなる。
 このような表現を使用した場合、第1の製造方法では、「エッチング強度」が小さいことが好ましいと言える。
 (エッチング処理に使用される装置について)
 ここで、ステップS110におけるエッチング処理に使用され得る装置の一例について簡単に説明する。
 図7には、ガラス基板のエッチング処理を実施する際に使用される処理装置の一構成例を示す。図7に示す処理装置は、ガラス基板を搬送させた状態で、ガラス基板のエッチング処理を実施することができる。
 図7に示すように、この処理装置300は、インジェクタ310と、搬送手段350とを備える。
 搬送手段350は、上部に置載されたガラス基板380を、矢印F301に示すように、水平方向(X方向)に搬送することができる。
 インジェクタ310は、搬送手段350およびガラス基板380の上方に配置される。
 インジェクタ310は、処理ガスの流通路となる複数のスリット315、320、および325を有する。すなわち、インジェクタ310は、中央部分に鉛直方向(Z方向)に沿って設けられた第1のスリット315と、該第1のスリットを取り囲むように、鉛直方向(Z方向)に沿って設けられた第2のスリット320と、該第2のスリット320を取り囲むように、鉛直方向(Z方向)に沿って設けられた第3のスリット325とを備える。
 第1のスリット315の一端(上部)は、フッ化水素ガス源(図示されていない)とキャリアガス源(図示されていない)とに接続されており、第1のスリット315の他端(下部)は、ガラス基板380の方に配向される。同様に、第2のスリット320の一端(上部)は、希釈ガス源(図示されていない)に接続されており、第2のスリット320の他端(下部)は、ガラス基板380の方に配向される。第3のスリット325の一端(上部)は、排気系(図示されていない)に接続されており、第3のスリット325の他端(下部)は、ガラス基板380の方に配向される。
 このように構成された処理装置300を使用して、ガラス基板380のエッチング処理を実施する場合、まず、フッ化水素ガス源(図示されていない)から、第1のスリット315を介して、矢印F305の方向に、フッ化水素ガスが供給される。また、希釈ガス源(図示されていない)から、第2のスリット320を介して、矢印F310の方向に、窒素等の希釈ガスが供給される。これらのガスは、排気系により、矢印F315に沿って水平方向(X方向)に移動した後、第3のスリット325を介して、処理装置300の外部に排出される。
 なお、第1のスリット315には、フッ化水素ガスに加えて、窒素などのキャリアガスを同時に供給しても良い。
 次に、搬送手段350が稼働される。これにより、ガラス基板380が矢印F301の方向に移動する。
 ガラス基板380は、インジェクタ310の下側を通過する際に、第1のスリット315および第2のスリット320から供給された処理ガス(フッ化水素ガス+キャリアガス+希釈ガス)に接触する。これにより、ガラス基板380の表面がエッチング処理される。
 なお、ガラス基板380の表面に供給された処理ガスは、矢印F315のように移動してエッチング処理に使用された後、矢印F320のように移動して、排気系に接続された第3のスリット325を介して、処理装置300の外部に排出される。
 このような処理装置300を使用することにより、ガラス基板を搬送しながら、処理ガスによる表面のエッチング処理を実施することができる。この場合、反応容器を使用してエッチング処理を実施する方法に比べて、処理効率を向上させることができる。また、このような処理装置300を使用した場合、大型のガラス基板に対してもエッチング処理を実施することができる。
 ここで、ガラス基板380への処理ガスの供給速度は、特に限られない。処理ガスの供給速度は、例えば、5SLM~1000SLMの範囲であっても良い。ここで、SLMとは、Standard Litter per Minute(標準状態における流量)の略である。また、ガラス基板380のインジェクタ310の通過時間(図7の距離Sを通過する時間)は、1秒~120秒の範囲であり、2秒~60秒の範囲であることが好ましく、3秒~30秒の範囲であることがより好ましい。ガラス基板380のインジェクタ310の通過時間を320秒以下とすることにより、迅速なエッチング処理を実施することができる。
 このように、処理装置300を使用することにより、搬送状態のガラス基板に対して、エッチング処理を実施することができる。
 なお、図7に示した処理装置300は、単なる一例に過ぎず、その他の装置を使用して、フッ化水素ガスを含む処理ガスによるガラス基板のエッチング処理を実施しても良い。例えば、図7の処理装置300では、静止しているインジェクタ310に対して、ガラス基板380が相対的に移動する。しかしながら、これとは逆に、静止しているガラス基板に対して、インジェクタを水平方向に移動させても良い。あるいは、ガラス基板とインジェクタの両者を、相互に反対方向に移動させても良い。
 また、図7の処理装置300では、インジェクタ310は、合計3つのスリット315、320、325を有する。しかしながら、スリットの数は、特に限られない。例えば、スリットの数は、2つであっても良い。この場合、一つのスリットが処理ガス(キャリアガスとフッ化水素ガスと希釈ガスとの混合ガス)供給用に利用され、別のスリットが排気用に利用されても良い。また、スリット320と排気用スリット325との間に1つ以上のスリットを設けて、エッチングガス、キャリアガス、希釈ガスを供給させても良い。
 さらに、図7の処理装置300では、インジェクタ310の第2のスリット320は、第1のスリット315を取り囲むように配置され、第3のスリット325は、第1のスリット315および第2のスリット320を取り囲むように設けられている。しかしながら、この代わりに、第1のスリット、第2のスリット、および第3のスリットを、水平方向(X方向)に沿って一列に配列しても良い。この場合、処理ガスは、ガラス基板の表面を、一方向に沿って移動し、その後、第3のスリットを介して排気される。
 さらに、複数個のインジェクタ310を搬送手段350の上に、水平方向(X方向)に沿って配置させても良い。
 さらに、別装置等によって、エッチング処理した面と同じ面に酸化ケイ素を主成分とする層を積層させても良い。該層を積層させることにより、エッチング処理した面の化学的耐久性を向上させることができる。
 以上の工程により、ガラス基板の少なくとも一方の表面がエッチングされる。
 また、ガラス基板上に予めマスクを施した上でエッチング処理を行うことにより、ガラス基板表面の所望の領域を部分的にエッチング処理したり、領域によって異なるエッチング条件を適用したりすることが可能である。
 (ステップS120)
 次に、必要な場合、エッチング処理されたガラス基板に対して、化学強化処理が実施される。
 ここで、「化学強化処理(法)」とは、アルカリ金属を含む溶融塩中にガラス基板を浸漬させ、ガラス基板の最表面に存在する原子径の小さなアルカリ金属(イオン)を、溶融塩中に存在する原子径の大きなアルカリ金属(イオン)と置換する技術の総称を言う。「化学強化処理(法)」では、処理されたガラス基板の表面には、処理前の元の原子よりも原子径の大きなアルカリ金属(イオン)が配置される。このため、ガラス基板の表面に圧縮応力層を形成することができ、これによりガラス基板の強度が向上する。
 例えば、ガラス基板がナトリウム(Na)を含む場合、化学強化処理の際、このナトリウムは、溶融塩(例えば硝酸塩)中で、例えばカリウム(K)と置換される。あるいは、例えば、ガラス基板がリチウム(Li)を含む場合、化学強化処理の際、このリチウムは、溶融塩(例えば硝酸塩)中で、例えばナトリウム(Na)および/またはカリウム(K)と置換されても良い。
 ガラス基板に対して実施される化学強化処理の条件は、特に限られない。
 溶融塩の種類としては、例えば、硝酸ナトリウム、硝酸カリウム、硫酸ナトリウム、硫酸カリウム、塩化ナトリウム、および塩化カリウム等の、アルカリ金属硝酸塩、アルカリ金属硫酸塩、およびアルカリ金属塩化物塩などが挙げられる。これらの溶融塩は、単独で用いても、複数種を組み合わせて用いても良い。
 処理温度(溶融塩の温度)は、使用される溶融塩の種類によっても異なるが、例えば、350℃~550℃の範囲であっても良い。
 化学強化処理は、例えば、350℃~550℃の溶融硝酸カリウム塩中に、ガラス基板を2分~20時間程度浸演することにより、実施しても良い。経済的かつ実用的な観点からは、350~500℃、1~10時間で実施されることが好ましい。
 これにより、表面に圧縮応力層が形成されたガラス基板を得ることができる。
 前述のように、このステップS120は、必須の工程ではない。しかしながら、ガラス基板に対して化学強化処理を実施することにより、ガラス基板の曲げ強度を高めることができる。この場合、入力ペンの当接に対するカバーガラスの耐破砕性が向上する。また、カバーガラス全体の強度が向上する。
 (ステップS130)
 次に、必要な場合、ガラス基板のエッチング処理表面に対して、指紋付着防止材がコーティングされる。この処理を、以下、「AFPコーティング処理」と称する。
 ここで、AFPコーティング処理は、カバーガラスの表面に指紋や油脂などの汚れが付着することを防止したり、そのような汚れの除去を容易にするために実施される。
 AFPコーティング処理は、ガラス基板と結合する官能基およびフッ素を含むフッ素系シランカップリング剤を用いて、ガラス表面を処理することにより実施される。
 なお、指紋付着防止材は、ガラス基板の末端OH基の水素をフッ素系部分と交換することにより形成される。この交換は、例えば、下記の反応に従って行われる:

 ここで、Rは、C-C22アルキルペルフルオロカーボンまたはC-C22アルキルパーフルオロポリエーテル、好ましくはC-C10アルキルペルフルオロカーボン、さらに好ましくはC-C10アルキルパーフルオロポリエーテルであり、nは1~3の範囲の整数であり、Xはガラスの末端OH基と交換することができる加水分解性基である。
 Xは、フッ素以外のハロゲンまたはアルコキシ基(-OR)であることが好ましく、ここで、Rは1~6の炭素原子の直鎖または分岐鎖炭化水素であり、例えば、-CH、-C、-CH(CHの炭化水素が挙げられる。一部の実施の形態では、n=2または3である。好ましいハロゲンは、塩素である。好ましいアルコキシシランは、トリメトキシシラン、RFSi(OMe)である。
 追加のペルフルオロカーボン部分としては、(RF)SiCl、RF-C(O)-Cl、RF-C(O)-NH、およびガラスのヒドロキシル(OH)基と交換可能な末端基を有する他のペルフルオロカーボン部分が挙げられる。
 本願では、「ペルフルオロカーボン」、「フッ化炭素」およびパーフルオロポリエーテルとは、本明細書に記載される炭化水素基を有する化合物を意味し、ここで、実質的にすべてのC-H結合はCF結合に転換されている。
 これらは、単独で使用しても、混合して使用しても良い。また、予め、酸またはアルカリなどで部分的に加水分解縮合物を作製してから、使用しても良い。
 AFPコーティング処理は、乾式法で実施されても、湿式法で実施されても良い。
 このうち乾式法では、蒸着法等の成膜プロセスにより、ガラス基板上にフッ素系シランカップリング剤が成膜される。この処理の前には、必要に応じて、ガラス基板に対して下地処理を実施しても良い。また、コーティングの密着力向上のため、加熱処理および加湿処理等を実施しても良い。
 一方、湿式法では、フッ素系シランカップリング剤を含む溶液をガラス基板に塗布した後、ガラス基板を乾燥することにより、指紋付着防止材をコーティングすることができる。この処理の前には、必要に応じて、ガラス基板に対して下地処理を実施しても良い。また、コーティングの密着力向上のため、加熱処理および加湿処理等を実施しても良い。
 AFPコーティング処理により、カバーガラスの表面が改質され、液体に対する濡れ性が変化する。例えば、水滴に対する接触角が100°を超える表面を得ることができる。
 なお、前述のように、このステップS130は、必須の工程ではない。
 しかしながら、ガラス基板に対してAFPコーティング処理を実施することにより、カバーガラスの表面に指紋などの汚れが付着することを抑制したり、汚れの除去を容易化することができる。この時、ガラス基板上に予めマスキングを施した上でAFPコーティング処理を行うことにより、ガラス基板の表面の所望の領域を部分的にAFPコーティングすることも可能である。これにより、カバーガラス上の所定の位置が、筆記感の相違によって認識可能となる。
 また、ステップS130を実施することにより、前述の特徴、すなわち、カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、前記領域における前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であるという特徴を有する表面を、比較的容易に得ることが可能になる。
 以上の工程を経て、前述のような特徴を有する本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスを製造することができる。
 なお、上記の製造方法は、単なる一例であって、本発明の一実施例による第1のカバーガラスは、別の方法で製造されても良い。
 (本発明の一実施例による第2のカバーガラスの製造方法)
 本発明の一実施例による第2のカバーガラスは、前述のような第1のカバーガラスの製造方法と同様の製造方法により、製造することができる。
 以上、本発明の一実施例によるペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの構成およびその製造方法について、具体的に説明した。ただし、本発明の一実施例によるペン入力装置用のカバーガラスは、入力手段が必ずしもペンに限られるものではない。特に、最近では、入力手段として、ペンによる入力に加えて、指によるタッチ入力が可能な入力装置が多く認められるようになってきている。
 本発明の一実施例によるカバーガラスは、そのような指を用いて入力することが可能な装置用のカバーガラスとしても適用が可能である。例えば、
 ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
 マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
 動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、当該カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラスは、指を使用した場合も、ペンと同様にビビリ感を抑制しながら、筆記感を有意に高めることができる。
 次に、本発明の実施例について説明する。
 (例1-1)
 以下の方法により、ガラス基板に対してエッチング処理を実施して、カバーガラスを製造した。また、得られたカバーガラスの特性を評価した。
 (エッチング処理)
 まず、フロート法で製造した厚さ1.1mmのアルミノシリケートガラス基板を準備した。
 次に、このガラス基板に対して、HFガスによるエッチング処理を実施した。エッチング処理には、前述の図7に示した処理装置300を使用した。
 処理装置300において、第1のスリット315には、フッ化水素ガスと窒素ガスを、第2のスリット320には窒素ガスを供給し、HFガスの濃度が1.4vol%となるようにした。
 第3のスリット325からの排気量は、全供給ガス量の2倍とした。
 ガラス基板は、第1の表面(被エッチング処理面)を上側(インジェクタ310に近い側:すなわち処理面)とし、580℃に加熱した状態で搬送した。なお、ガラス基板の温度は、熱電対を配置した同種のガラス基板を、同様の熱処理条件で搬送しながら測定した値である。ただし、ガラス基板の表面温度は、直接放射温度計を用いて測定しても良い。
 エッチング処理時間(図7において、ガラス基板が距離Sを通過する時間)は、約5秒とした。
 この処理により、ガラス基板の第1の表面がエッチング処理された。以下、得られたガラス基板を「例1-1に係るガラス」と称する。
 (例2-1、例3-1および例4-1)
 例1-1と同様の方法により、例2-1、例3-1および例4-1に係るカバーガラスをそれぞれ製造した。ただし、これらの例では、エッチング処理の際のHFガスの濃度を変えて、カバーガラスを製造した。
 すなわち、例2-1では、HFガスの濃度を1.9vol%とした。また、例3-1では、HFガスの濃度を2.4vol%とした。さらに、例4-1では、HFガスの濃度を2.9vol%とした。
 その他の条件は、例1-1の場合と同様である。
 (評価)
 例1-1、2-1、3-1、および4-1に係るカバーガラスを用いて、以下の各値を測定した。
 (ヘイズ値)
 ヘイズ値の測定には、ヘーズメータ(HZ-2:スガ試験機)を使用し、JIS K7361-1に基づいて実施した。光源には、C光源を使用した。
 (マルテンス硬さ)
 マルテンス硬さの測定には、(Picodenter HM500:Fisher社製)を使用し、ISO 14577に基づいて実施した。圧子には、ビッカース圧子を使用した。
 (表面粗さ)
 表面粗さRaおよびRzの測定には、走査型プローブ顕微鏡(SPI3800N:エスアイアイ・ナノテクノロジー社製)を使用し、JIS B0601(2001年)に基づいて実施した。測定は、カバーガラスの2μm四方の領域に対して、取得データ数1024×1024として実施した。
 以下の表1には、各例に係るカバーガラスのエッチング処理条件および測定結果をまとめて示す。

 なお、表1には、参考のため、エッチング処理を実施する前のガラス基板において得られた各測定結果を同時に示した。
 表1に示すように、ヘイズ値の測定結果から、例1-1に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は1%未満であるのに対して、例2-1、例3-1および例4-1に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は1%を超えることがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、ヘイズ値が大きくなり、カバーガラスの透明性が低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、1%以下のヘイズ値を得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 一方、マルテンス硬さの測定結果から、例1-1に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは2850N/mmであるのに対して、例2-1、例3-1および例4-1に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは、最大でも1060N/mm程度であり、あまり大きくないことがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、マルテンス硬さが低下し、カバーガラスの硬さが低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲のマルテンス硬さを得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 また、表面粗さの測定結果から、例1-1に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは0.2nm~20nmの範囲にあり、表面粗さRzは3.5nm~200nmの範囲にあることがわかった。これに対して、例2-1、例3-1および例4-1に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは最小でも30nmを超え、表面粗さRzは最小でも220nmを超えることがわかった。
 この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、表面粗さRa、Rzが増加し、カバーガラスの表面の凹凸が激しくなる傾向にあることがわかった。
 図8および図9には、それぞれ、例1-1に係るカバーガラスの断面写真および表面写真を示す。また、図10および図11には、それぞれ、例3-1に係るカバーガラスの断面写真および表面写真を示す。
 これらの写真から、例3-1に係るカバーガラスの表面は、凹凸が激しく、多数の微細な突起および孔が3次元的に分布されて構成されていることがわかる。これに対して、例1-1に係るカバーガラスの表面は、多数の微細な孔を含むものの、比較的平面的で平滑な表面形態を有することがわかる。従って、この表面形態の違いが、例1-1に係るカバーガラスと例2-1~例4-1に係るカバーガラスにおける特性評価結果に起因しているものと予想される。
 すなわち、例1-1に係るカバーガラスでは、エッチング強度が比較的小さく、比較的平滑な表面が得られるため、表面粗さRa、Rzが小さく抑制される。また、同じ理由により、エッチング処理前のガラスに比べてマルテンス硬さの低下が抑制されるとともに、ヘイズ値の上昇が抑制され、透明性が高まるものと考えられる。
 (例5-1)
 以下の方法により、ガラス基板に対してエッチング処理を実施して、カバーガラスを製造した。また、得られたカバーガラスの特性を評価した。
 (エッチング処理)
 まず、フロート法で製造した厚さ0.7mmのアルミノシリケートガラス基板を準備した。
 次に、このガラス基板に対して、HFガスによるエッチング処理を実施した。エッチング処理には、前述の図7に示した処理装置300を使用した。
 処理装置300において、第1のスリット315には、フッ化水素ガスと窒素ガスを、第2のスリット320には窒素ガスを供給し、HFガスの濃度が1.2vol%となるようにした。
 第3のスリット325からの排気量は、全供給ガス量の2倍とした。
 ガラス基板は、第1の表面(被エッチング処理面)を上側(インジェクタ310に近い側:すなわち処理面)とし、580℃に加熱した状態で搬送した。なお、ガラス基板の温度は、熱電対を配置した同種のガラス基板を、同様の熱処理条件で搬送しながら測定した値である。ただし、ガラス基板の表面温度は、直接放射温度計を用いて測定しても良い。
 エッチング処理時間(図7において、ガラス基板が距離Sを通過する時間)は、約5秒とした。
 この処理により、ガラス基板の第1の表面がエッチング処理された。以下、得られたガラス基板を「例5-1に係るガラス」と称する。
 (例6-1)
 例5-1と同様の方法により、例6-1に係るカバーガラスを製造した。ただし、この例6-1では、HFガスの濃度を0.5vol%とした。その他のエッチング処理条件は、例5-1の場合と同様である。
 (評価)
 例5-1および6-1に係るカバーガラスを用いて、前述の方法により、ヘイズ値、マルテンス硬さ、および表面粗さの各値を測定した。
 以下の表2には、各例に係るカバーガラスのエッチング処理条件および測定結果をまとめて示す。

 なお、表2には、参考のため、エッチング処理を実施する前のガラス基板において得られた各測定結果を同時に示した。
 (例1-2)
 以下の方法により、カバーガラスを製造した。また、得られたカバーガラスの特性を評価した。
 カバーガラスは、例1-1において使用したガラス基板に対してエッチング処理を実施した後、化学強化処理を行うことにより製造した。得られたカバーガラスを、例1-2に係るカバーガラスと称する。
 エッチング処理の条件は、前述の例1-1の場合と同様である。また、化学強化処理は、450℃の100%硝酸カリウム溶融塩中に、ガラス基板を2時間浸漬することにより、実施した。
 化学強化処理により、ガラス基板の表面に、圧縮応力層が形成された。
 ガラス表面応力計(FSM-6000LE:折原製作所製)を用いて、例1-2に係るカバーガラスの表面圧縮応力を測定した。測定の結果、第1の表面(エッチング処理した表面)における表面圧縮応力は、約835MPaであった。また、第2の表面(第1の表面とは反対側の表面)における表面圧縮応力も、同様に約835MPaであった。
 また、同装置を用いて、化学強化処理後のカバーガラスの表面の圧縮応力層の厚さ(深さ)を測定した。測定の結果、第1の表面および第2の表面における圧縮応力層の厚さは、いずれも約36μmであった。
 (例2-2、例3-2および例4-2)
 前述の例1-2と同様の方法により、例2-2、例3-2および例4-2に係るカバーガラスをそれぞれ製造した。ただし、これらの例では、エッチング処理の際のHFガスの濃度を変えて、カバーガラスを製造した。
 すなわち、例2-2では、HFガスの濃度を1.9vol%とした。また、例3-2では、HFガスの濃度を2.4vol%とした。さらに、例4-2では、HFガスの濃度を2.9vol%とした。
 その他の条件は、例1-2の場合と同様である。
 (評価)
 例1-2、2-2、3-2、および4-2に係るカバーガラスを用いて、前述の方法により、ヘイズ値、マルテンス硬さ、および表面粗さRa、Rzの各測定を実施した。
 以下の表3には、各例に係るカバーガラスのエッチング処理条件および測定結果をまとめて示す。

 なお、表3には、参考のため、エッチング処理を実施せず、化学強化処理のみを実施したガラス基板(厚さ1.1mm)において得られた各測定結果を同時に示した。
 表3に示すように、ヘイズ値の測定結果から、例1-2および例2-2に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は1%未満であるのに対して、例3-2および例4-2に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は2%を超えることがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、ヘイズ値が大きくなり、カバーガラスの透明性が低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、1%以下のヘイズ値を得るには、HF濃度は、2.4vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 一方、マルテンス硬さの測定結果から、例1-2に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは2950N/mmであるのに対して、例2-2、例3-2および例4-2に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは、最大でも1390N/mm程度であり、あまり大きくないことがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、マルテンス硬さが低下し、カバーガラスの硬さが低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲のマルテンス硬さを得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 また、表面粗さの測定結果から、例1-2に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは0.2nm~20nmの範囲にあり、表面粗さRzは3.5nm~200nmの範囲にあることがわかった。これに対して、例2-2、例3-2および例4-2に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは最小でも25nmを超え、表面粗さRzは最小でも230nmを超えることがわかった。
 この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、表面粗さRa、Rzが増加し、カバーガラスの表面の凹凸が激しくなる傾向にあることがわかった。
 図12には、例1-2に係るカバーガラスの表面写真を示す。また、図13には、例3-2に係るカバーガラスの表面写真を示す。
 図12および図9の比較、ならびに図13と図11の比較から、化学強化処理の前後で、カバーガラスの表面形態は、ほとんど変化しないことがわかる。
 すなわち、例3-2に係るカバーガラスの表面は、凹凸が激しく、多数の微細な突起および孔が3次元的に分布されて構成されていることがわかる。これに対して、例1-2に係るカバーガラスの表面は、多数の微細な孔を含むものの、比較的平面的で平滑な表面形態を有することがわかる。
 このように、例1-2に係るカバーガラスでは、エッチング強度が比較的小さく、比較的平滑な表面が得られるため、表面粗さRa、Rzが小さく抑制される。また、同じ理由により、エッチング処理前のガラスに比べてマルテンス硬さの低下が抑制されるとともに、ヘイズ値の上昇が抑制され、透明性が高まるものと考えられる。
 (例1-3)
 以下の方法により、カバーガラスを製造した。また、得られたカバーガラスの特性を評価した。
 カバーガラスは、例1-2で得られたカバーガラスの表面に、AFPコーティング処理を実施することにより製造した。得られたカバーガラスを、「例1-3に係るカバーガラス」と称する。
 AFPコーティング処理は、蒸着法により、例1-2に係るカバーガラスの第1の表面に、KY185(信越化学社製)を成膜することにより実施した。
 (例2-3、例3-3および例4-3)
 前述の例1-3と同様の方法により、例2-3、例3-3および例4-3に係るカバーガラスをそれぞれ製造した。ただし、これらの例では、AFPコーティング処理に供される化学強化処理後のガラス基板として、例1-3の場合とは異なるガラス基板を使用して、カバーガラスを製造した。
 すなわち、例2-3では、例2-2で得られたカバーガラスの第1の表面に、AFPコーティング処理を実施することにより、例2-3に係るカバーガラスを製造した。また、例3-3では、例3-2で得られたカバーガラスの第1の表面に、AFPコーティング処理を実施することにより、例3-3に係るカバーガラスを製造した。さらに、例4-3では、例4-2で得られたカバーガラスの第1の表面に、AFPコーティング処理を実施することにより、例4-3に係るカバーガラスを製造した。
 なお、これらの例において、AFPコーティング処理の条件は、例1-3の場合と同様である。
 (例5-3)
 以下の方法により、前述の例5-1に係るカバーガラスを用いて、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理を実施した。得られたカバーガラスを「例5-3に係るカバーガラス」と称する。
 化学強化処理は、450℃の100%硝酸カリウム溶融塩中に、例5-1に係るカバーガラスを1時間浸漬することにより実施した。化学強化処理により、カバーガラスの表面に、圧縮応力層が形成された。
 化学強化処理後のカバーガラスにおいて、前述の方法により、第1の表面(エッチング処理した表面)における表面圧縮応力を測定した。測定の結果、表面圧縮応力は、約760MPaであり、圧縮応力層の厚さは、約25μmであった。
 次に、化学強化処理後のカバーガラスを用いて、AFPコーティング処理を実施した。
 AFPコーティング処理の条件は、例1-3の場合と同様である。
 (評価)
 例1-3、2-3、3-3、4-3、および例5-3に係るカバーガラスを用いて、前述の方法により、ヘイズ値、マルテンス硬さ、および表面粗さRa、Rzの各測定を実施した。
 また、例1-3、2-3、3-3、4-3、および例5-3に係るカバーガラスを用いて、以下の方法により、接触角の測定、摩擦挙動の評価、および書き味の評価試験を実施した。
 (接触角の測定)
 接触角は、カバーガラスの表面に純水1μlを滴下してから3秒後の水滴で測定した。測定には、接触角計(CA-X:協和界面科学社製)を使用した。
 (摩擦挙動の評価)
 以下の方法により、各例に係るカバーガラスの動摩擦係数μおよびY値(=σ/F)を測定した。
 まず、各カバーガラスの第1の表面に、ロードセル付きの平面型圧子を50gf(0.49N)の荷重で配置する。圧子の少なくともカバーガラスと接触する面(面積1cm)には、合成皮革(厚さ0.6mm、表面粗さRa=15μm)を配置した。
 次に、圧子を水平方向に一定の移動速度(1mm/秒)で移動させる。移動距離は、20mmである。そして、圧子の移動中に生じる動摩擦力F(N)および動摩擦係数μを、表面性試験機(トライポギア TYPE38:新東科学社製)を用いて測定した。
 動摩擦係数μは、動摩擦力F(N)と移動時間t(秒)の間に、近似的に直線関係が成立する領域(以下、「直線領域」という)において算出した。
 また、Y値は、直線領域における動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)を、動摩擦力F(N)で除することにより算定した。
 なお、この実験は、室温(25℃)で実施した。
 (書き味の評価試験)
 例1-3、2-3、3-3、4-3、および例5-3に係るカバーガラスを用いて、書き味の評価試験(官能試験)を実施した(○×評価)。
 試験では、入力ペン(ワコム社製 プロペンKP-503E)を使用して、実際にカバーガラスの上に描画した際に、HBの鉛筆で普通紙に書いたときの感覚と近いものを○とし、書きづらい場合を×として、書き味を判定した。
 以下の表4には、各例に係るカバーガラスのエッチング処理条件および測定結果をまとめて示す。

 なお、表4には、参考のため、エッチング処理を実施せず、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理のみを実施したガラス基板(板厚1.1mm)において得られた各測定結果を同時に示した。
 表4に示すように、ヘイズ値の測定結果から、例1-3および例5-3に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は1%未満であるのに対して、例2-3、例3-3、および4-3に係るカバーガラスでは、ヘイズ値は1%を超えることがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、ヘイズ値が大きくなり、カバーガラスの透明性が低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、1%以下のヘイズ値を得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 一方、マルテンス硬さの測定結果から、例1-3に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは3300N/mmであり、例5-3に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは3850N/mmである。これに対して、例2-3、例3-3および例4-3に係るカバーガラスでは、マルテンス硬さは、最大でも920N/mm程度であり、あまり大きくないことがわかる。この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、マルテンス硬さが低下し、カバーガラスの硬さが低下することがわかった。
 本実験条件では、2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲のマルテンス硬さを得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 また、表面粗さの測定結果から、例1-3および例5-3に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは0.2nm~20nmの範囲にあり、表面粗さRzは3.5nm~200nmの範囲にあることがわかった。これに対して、例2-3、例3-3および例4-3に係るカバーガラスでは、表面粗さRaは最小でも24nmを超え、表面粗さRzは最小でも230nmを超えることがわかった。
 この結果から、エッチング処理の際のHF濃度、すなわち「エッチング強度」が大きいほど、表面粗さRa、Rzが増加し、カバーガラスの表面の凹凸が激しくなる傾向にあることがわかった。
 なお、顕微鏡観察の結果、例1-3に係るカバーガラスの表面は、例1-1および例1-2に係るカバーガラスと同様であった。また、例3-3に係るカバーガラスの表面は、例3-1および例3-2に係るカバーガラスとほぼ同様であった。このことから、AFPコーティング処理を実施しても、表面形態はほとんど変化しないことがわかった。
 また、接触角の測定の結果、いずれのカバーガラスにおいても、接触角は、100°以上であることがわかった。
 また、摩擦挙動の評価の結果、例1-3に係るカバーガラスは、動摩擦係数μ=1.49であり、例5-3に係るカバーガラスは、動摩擦係数μ=1.523であることがわかった。一方、例2-3、例3-3および例4-4に係るカバーガラスでは、動摩擦係数μは、最大でも0.869程度(例3-3)であり、あまり大きくないことがわかった。ちなみに、AFPコーティング処理後のガラス基板の動摩擦係数μは、0.105であり、極めて小さいことがわかった。
 さらに、例1-3に係るカバーガラスでは、Y値=0.018であり、例5-3に係るカバーガラスは、Y値=0.010であることがわかった。これに対して、例2-3、例3-3および例4-4に係るカバーガラスでは、Y値は、最小でも0.065程度(例3-3)であり、あまり小さくないことがわかった。ちなみに、AFPコーティング処理後のガラス基板のY値は、0.115であった。
 本実験条件では、0.9以上の動摩擦係数μおよび0.05以下のY値を得るには、HF濃度は、1.9vol%未満であることが必要であると言える。
 図14には、例1-3および例3-3に係るカバーガラスにおける摩擦挙動の評価試験結果をあわせて示す。なお、この図には、参考のため、エッチング処理を実施せず、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理のみを実施したガラス基板(厚さ1.1mm)において得られた結果が同時に示されている。
 図14から、例3-3に係るカバーガラスは、動摩擦係数μと時間tの関係が、前述の図3に示したものに近く、このため、入力ペンの書き味が劣るものと予想される。これに対して、例1-3に係るカバーガラスは、動摩擦係数μと時間tの関係が、前述の図4に示したものに近く、このため良好な書き味が得られるものと予想される。
 書き味の評価試験の結果、例2-3~例4-3に係るカバーガラスでは、入力ペンの移動の際に、入力ペンが引っかかる感覚が生じることがわかった。また、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理のみを実施したガラス基板では、入力ペンが滑り過ぎ、この場合も書きにくいことがわかった。これに対して、例1-3および例5-3に係るカバーガラスでは、入力ペンの引っかかりや滑りがなく、良好な書き味が得られることが確認された。
 また、指による入力(以下、指入力ともいう)により、同様に摩擦感を評価したところ、例1-3および例5-3に係るカバーガラスでは、指入力の際に適度な摩擦感が得られ、良好な筆記感が得られることが確認された。一方、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理のみを実施したガラス基板では、指が滑り過ぎ、例2-3~例4-3に係るカバーガラスでは、指入力の際に、ビビリ感が生じた。
 (例5-4)
 次に、以下の方法により、前述の例5-1に係るカバーガラスを用いて、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理を実施した。得られたカバーガラスを「例5-4に係るカバーガラス」と称する。
 化学強化処理は、450℃の100%硝酸カリウム溶融塩中に、例5-1に係るカバーガラスを1時間浸漬することにより実施した。化学強化処理により、カバーガラスの表面に、圧縮応力層が形成された。
 化学強化処理後のカバーガラスにおいて、前述の方法により、第1の表面(エッチング処理した表面)における表面圧縮応力を測定した。測定の結果、表面圧縮応力は、約760MPaであり、圧縮応力層の厚さは、約25μmであった。
 次に、化学強化処理後のカバーガラスを用いて、AFPコーティング処理を実施した。
 AFPコーティング処理は、蒸着法により、カバーガラスの第1の表面に、optool DSX(ダイキン社製)を成膜することにより実施した。
 AFPコーティング処理後に、蛍光X線分析装置を用いて、フッ素の線強度(F-Kα)を分析することにより、AFPコーティングの塗布量を把握した。すなわち、AFPコーティングは、フッ素を含有するため、フッ素の評価により、AFPコーティングの塗布量を評価することができる。
 蛍光X線測定装置には、ZSX PrimusII((株)リガク社製:出力:Rh50kV-72mA)を使用した。
 AFPコーティング付着量Wの評価の際には、以下の式を使用した:
 
  AFPコーティング付着量W={(AFPコーティング処理後のカバーガラスのF-Kα線強度)-(AFPコーティング施工前のカバーガラスのF-Kα線強度)}
   /(標準試料のF-Kα線強度-AFPコーティング施工前のカバーガラスのF-Kα線強度)
 
 なお、標準試料には、フッ素を2wt%含有するアルミノシリケートガラスを使用した。
 評価の結果、AFPコーティング処理されたカバーガラス、すなわち例5-4に係るカバーガラスにおいて、AFPコーティング付着量W=0.8であった。
 (例5-5、例5-6、および例5-7)
 前述の例5-4と同様の方法により、例5-5、例5-6および例5-7に係るカバーガラスをそれぞれ製造した。ただし、これらの例では、AFPコーティング処理によるAFPコーティング付着量Wを変化させて、カバーガラスを製造した。
 すなわち、例5-5に係るカバーガラスでは、AFPコーティング付着量W=1.3とし、例5-6に係るカバーガラスでは、AFPコーティング付着量W=0.6とし、例5-7に係るカバーガラスでは、AFPコーティング付着量W=2.8とした。その他の製造条件は、例5-4の場合と同様である。
 (例6-4)
 前述の例5-4と同様の方法により、例6-4に係るカバーガラスを製造した。ただし、この例6-4では、前述の例6-1に係るカバーガラスを用いて、化学強化処理およびAFPコーティング処理を実施した。また、AFPコーティング処理によるAFPコーティング付着量W=0.2であった。その他の製造条件は、例5-4の場合と同様である。
 (評価)
 例5-4、5-5、5-6、5-7および6-4に係るカバーガラスを用いて、前述の方法により、ヘイズ値、マルテンス硬さ、表面粗さRa、Rz、および接触角の各測定を実施した。
 また、これらのカバーガラスを用いて、以下の方法により、入力ペンによる摩擦挙動の評価試験を実施した。
 入力ペンには、ペン先がポリアセタール系樹脂(ロックウェル硬度M90)で構成されているものを使用した。ペン先の曲率半径は、約700μmである。
 摩擦挙動の評価は、各カバーガラスの第1の表面に、ロードセル付きの平面型圧子を150gf(1.47N)の荷重で配置する。圧子のカバーガラスと接触する面(面積1cm)に、入力ペンを垂直に配置した。
 次に、圧子(すなわち入力ペン)を水平方向に一定の移動速度(10mm/秒)で移動させる。移動距離は、20mmである。そして、圧子の移動中に生じる動摩擦力F(N)および動摩擦係数μを、表面性試験機(トライポギア TYPE38:新東科学社製)を用いて測定した。
 動摩擦係数μは、動摩擦力F(N)と移動時間t(秒)の間に、近似的に直線関係が成立する領域(以下、「直線領域」という)において算出した。
 また、直線領域における動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σを算定した。
 なお、この評価試験は、室温(25℃)で実施した。
 また、摩擦挙動の評価試験に使用したものと同じ入力ペンを使用して、各カバーガラスにおける書き味の官能試験を実施した。
 以下の表5には、各例に係るカバーガラスの測定結果をまとめて示す。

 表5に示すように、各例に係るカバーガラスにおいて、ヘイズ値は、いずれも1%未満であった。また、各例に係るカバーガラスにおいて、マルテンス硬さは、いずれも2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であった。
 しかしながら、書き味の官能試験の結果、例5-6に係るカバーガラスでは、入力ペンによる操作の際に、大きな引っかかり(ビビリ)感が感じられ、あまり良い書き味は得られなかった。また、例5-7に係るカバーガラスでは、入力ペンが滑りすぎて、しばしば、意図した入力操作を行うことが難しくなることがわかった。
 これに対して、例5-4、5-5、6-4に係るカバーガラスでは、入力ペンの引っかかりや、意図しない入力ペンの滑りが生じにくく、良好な書き味が得られた。
 ここで、動摩擦係数μおよび動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σの測定結果を参照すると、例5-6に係るカバーガラスでは、動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σが0.04と大きくなっており、例5-7に係るカバーガラスでは、動摩擦係数μが0.13と小さくなっている。これに対して、例5-4、5-5、6-4に係るカバーガラスでは、いずれも動摩擦係数μが0.14~0.50の範囲にあり、動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σは、0.03以下の値となっている。
 従って、例5-6および例5-7に係るカバーガラスの書き味の低下は、動摩擦係数μ、および動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σの影響によるものであると考えられる。すなわち、例5-6および例5-7に係るカバーガラスでは、動摩擦係数μが比較的小さく、あるいは動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σが比較的大きくなっている。これに対して、例5-4、5-5、6-4に係るカバーガラスでは、動摩擦係数μが所定の範囲に収まっている上、動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σが有意に小さく抑制されており、この結果、良好な書き味が得られたものと考えられる。

Claims (22)

  1.  ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
     ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
     マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
     当該カバーガラスの表面において、150gf(1.47N)の荷重を受けた移動部材を、室温で10mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μは、0.14以上0.50以下であり、前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)は、0.03以下であり、
     前記移動部材は、ロックウェル硬度がM90のポリアセタール系樹脂製のペン先を有し、該ペン先が700μmの曲率半径を有するペンであることを特徴とするカバーガラス。
  2.  当該カバーガラスの前記表面は、複数の領域を有し、該複数の領域は、相互に異なる動摩擦係数μおよび動摩擦力の標準偏差σを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカバーガラス。
  3.  ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
     ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
     マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
     当該カバーガラスの表面において、移動部材を一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラス。
  4.  当該カバーガラスの前記表面は、複数の領域を有し、該複数の領域は、相互に異なる動摩擦係数μおよび動摩擦力の標準偏差σを有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載のカバーガラス。
  5.  前記マルテンス硬さは、2000N/mm~3500N/mmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載のカバーガラス。
  6.  前記移動部材は合成皮革であり、
     当該カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた前記移動部材を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であることを特徴とする請求項3乃至5のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  7.  表面粗さRa(算術平均粗さ)が0.2nm~20nmの範囲であり、
     表面粗さRz(最大高さ粗さ)が3.5nm~200nmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  8.  前記表面には、指紋付着防止材がコーティングされていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  9.  前記指紋付着防止材は、前記表面の少なくとも一部の領域にコーティングされていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のカバーガラス。
  10.  当該カバーガラスのガラス組成として、モル%濃度で
     SiO 61~77%、
     Al 1~18%、
     NaO 8~18%、
     KO 0~6%、
     MgO 0~15%、
     B 0~8%、
     CaO 0~9%、
     SrO 0~1%、
     BaO 0~1%、
     ZrO 0~4%、
    を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至9のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  11.  化学強化処理されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至10のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  12.  水滴に対する接触角が100°以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至11のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラス。
  13.  使用者によって情報が入力される入力装置用のカバーガラスであって、
     ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
     マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
     動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、当該カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた合成皮革を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であり、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下であることを特徴とするカバーガラス。
  14.  当該入力装置用のカバーガラスは、使用者が指で触れて入力することを特徴とする請求項13に記載のカバーガラス。
  15.  当該入力装置用のカバーガラスは、ペンで触れて入力することを特徴とする請求項13に記載のカバーガラス。
  16.  ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法であって、
     (a)ガラス基板の表面にフッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスを接触させる工程であって、
     前記(a)の工程後に、
     ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
     マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
     移動部材を一方向に移動させた際に、動摩擦力をF(N)とし、該動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差をσ(N)としたとき、σ/Fの値Yが0.05以下である前記ガラス基板が得られることを特徴とするカバーガラスの製造方法。
  17.  前記マルテンス硬さは、2000N/mm~3500N/mmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のカバーガラスの製造方法。
  18.  前記移動部材は合成皮革であり、
     前記カバーガラスの表面において、50gf(0.49N)の荷重を受けた前記移動部材を、室温で1mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μが0.9以上であることを特徴とする請求項16または17に記載のカバーガラスの製造方法。
  19.  ペン入力装置用のカバーガラスの製造方法であって、
     (a)ガラス基板の表面にフッ化水素(HF)ガスを含む処理ガスを接触させる工程であって、
     前記(a)の工程後に、
     ヘイズ値が1%未満であり、
     マルテンス硬さが2000N/mm~4000N/mmの範囲であり、
     ロックウェル硬度がM90のポリアセタール系樹脂製のペン先を有し、該ペン先が700μmの曲率半径を有するペンを、150gf(1.47N)の荷重で、室温で10mm/秒の速度で一方向に移動させたとき、動摩擦力F(N)と時間の関係が直線で近似される領域における動摩擦係数μは、0.14以上0.50以下であり、前記動摩擦力F(N)の標準偏差σ(N)は、0.03以下となる前記ガラス基板が得られることを特徴とするカバーガラスの製造方法。
  20.  前記(a)の工程後の前記ガラス基板の表面粗さRaは、0.2nm~20nmの範囲であり、
     前記(a)の工程後の前記ガラス基板の表面粗さRzは、3.5nm~200nmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項16乃至19のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラスの製造方法。
  21.  さらに、前記(a)の工程の後に、
     (c)前記ガラス基板に指紋付着防止材をコーティングする工程
     を有することを特徴とする請求項16乃至20のいずれか一つに記載のカバーガラスの製造方法。
