Abstract

 プラスチックフィルム1の両側縁部3を互いに重ね合わせ、長さ方向にヒートシールするプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置において、両側縁部3を的確にヒートシールし、そのシール強度が低下せず、外観が悪化しないようにする。一対のヒータ5が両側縁部3の両側に配置される。ヒータ5はそれぞれ加熱面6を有する。そして、各加熱面6が間隔を置いて対向し、加熱面6によって両側縁部3が予熱される。さらに、複数のエア吸入孔7が各加熱面6に形成され、各吸入孔7によって両側縁部3が吸引され、両側縁部3が各加熱面6に接触する。

Description

プラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置
 この発明は、プラスチックフィルムを長さ方向に送り、その両側縁部を互いに重ね合わせ、長さ方向にヒートシールするプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置に関する。
 たとえば、ピロー袋と呼ばれるプラスチック袋を製造する製袋機では、プラスチックフィルムが長さ方向に送られ、その両側縁部が互いに重ね合わされ、長さ方向にヒートシールされることが多い。ヒートシールされるとき、普通、特許文献1に記載されているように、一対のヒータが両側縁部の両側に配置される。ヒータはそれぞれ加熱面を有する。そして、各加熱面が間隔を置いて対向し、加熱面によって両側縁部が予熱される。さらに、ヒータの下流位置において、一対のピンチローラが両側縁部の両側に配置され、両側縁部の予熱後、ピンチローラによって両側縁部が挟み付けられ、ヒートシールされる。
 プラスチックフィルムは基材とシーラントをラミネートしたラミネートフィルムからなる。たとえば、プラスチックフィルムとしてOPP(基材)-CPP(シーラント)フィルムが使用される。したがって、ピンチローラによって両側縁部が挟み付けられたとき、シーラントによって両側縁部がヒートシールされるものである。
 この場合、問題はヒータの加熱面の間隔である。加熱面の間隔を精密に調整し、両側縁部の厚さに対応させると、プラスチックフィルムが長さ方向に送られているとき、両側縁部を各加熱面に接触させ、効率的に両側縁部を予熱することができるが、両側縁部が互いに接触することもさけられない。そして、接触すると、両側縁部間において、そのシーラントが部分的に溶着する。このため、その後、ピンチローラによって両側縁部が挟み付けられ、ヒートシールされたとき、そのシール面にエアが混入し、捕捉され、エアによってシール強度が低下し、外観が悪化する。これを踏まえ、加熱面の間隔を両側縁部の厚さよりも拡大すると、両側縁部間に間隙を形成し、両者が互いに接触しないようにすることはできるが、両側縁部を各加熱面に接触させることができず、効率的に両側縁部を予熱することができない。したがって、両側縁部を的確にヒートシールすることができない。
 なお、特許文献1において、複数のエア噴出孔を各加熱面に形成し、各噴出孔からエアを噴出させることも提案されている。エアを噴出させると、エアによって両側縁部を押し付け、ヒートシールすることができ、ピンチローラによって両側縁部を挟み付ける必要はない。ただし、この場合、エアによって両側縁部が押し付けられるだけであり、ピンチローラによって両側縁部を挟み付けるものと比較すると、シール強度が低下すると考えられる。
 したがって、この発明は、プラスチックフィルムを長さ方向に送り、その両側縁部を互いに重ね合わせ、長さ方向にヒートシールするプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置において、両側縁部を的確にヒートシールし、そのシール強度が低下せず、外観が悪化しないようにすることを目的とする。
特公平7-37253号公報
 この発明によれば、一対のヒータが両側縁部の両側に配置される。ヒータはそれぞれ加熱面を有する。そして、各加熱面が間隔を置いて対向し、加熱面によって両側縁部が予熱される。さらに、複数のエア吸入孔が各加熱面に形成され、エア流路が各ヒータに形成され、各吸入孔に連通する。したがって、各吸入孔にエアを吸入し、各吸入孔によって両側縁部を吸引し、両側縁部を各加熱面に接触させることができる。さらに、ヒータの下流位置において、一対のピンチローラが両側縁部の両側に配置され、両側縁部の予熱後、ピンチローラによって両側縁部が挟み付けられ、ヒートシールされる。
 好ましい実施例では、プラスチックフィルムの送り方向において、各吸入孔が間隔を置いて形成される。
 複数のエア吸入孔ではなく、細長いエア吸入みぞを各加熱面に形成し、エア流路を各ヒータに形成し、各吸入みぞに連通させる。そして、各吸入みぞにエアを吸入し、各吸入みぞによって両側縁部を吸引し、両側縁部を各加熱面に接触させてもよい。

 以下、この発明の実施例を説明する。
 図1はこの発明にかかるプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置を示す。この装置はピロー袋と呼ばれるプラスチック袋を製造する製袋機のヒートシール装置である。その製袋機では、プラスチックフィルム1が長さ方向に送られ、フォーマによってプラスチックフィルム1が案内され、折り曲げられ、ガイドプレート2のまわりにプラスチックフィルム1が配置される。ガイドプレート2のまわりにおいて、プラスチックフィルム1はチューブ状をなす。そして、その両側縁部3が長さ方向折り曲げ線4に沿って折り曲げられ、ガイドプレート2から突出する。その後、プラスチックフィルム1がガイドプレート2に沿って送られ、その両側縁部3が互いに重ね合わされ、長さ方向にヒートシールされる。その後、プラスチックフィルム1がガイドプレート2を通過し、その後、プラスチックフィルム1が幅方向にヒートシールされ、カットされ、プラスチックフィルム1によってプラスチック袋が製造される。これは従来と同様である。
 この装置では、ガイドプレート2の上側において、一対のヒータ5が間隔を置いて配置されており、長さ方向にヒートシールされる前、プラスチックフィルム1がガイドプレート2に沿って送られ、その両側縁部3が各ヒータ5間に挿入される。したがって、一対のヒータ5が両側縁3の両側に配置されるものである。ヒータ5は一定の長さのもので、ガイドプレート2に平行にのびる。その方向はプラスチックフィルム1の長さ方向であり、送り方向Xである。さらに、ヒータ5はそれぞれ加熱面6を有する。そして、各加熱面6が間隔を置いて対向し、加熱面6によって両側縁部3が予熱される。これも従来と同様である。
 さらに、この装置では、複数のエア吸入孔7が各加熱面6に形成され、エア流路8が各ヒータ5に形成され、各吸入孔7に連通し、ブロワまたは真空ポンプがエア流路8に接続されている。さらに、この実施例では、プラスチックフィルム1の送り方向Xにおいて、各吸入孔7が間隔を置いて形成されている。したがって、ブロワまたは真空ポンプによってエア流路8を真空排気し、各吸入孔7にエアを吸入し、各吸入孔7によって両側縁部3を吸引し、両側縁部3を各加熱面6に接触させることができる。
 さらに、ヒータ5の下流位置において、一対のピンチローラ9が両側縁部3の両側に配置され、回転可能に支持されている。その回転軸はガイドプレート2に垂直にのびる。そして、両側縁部3の予熱後、それがピンチローラ9に導かれ、ピンチローラ9によって両側縁部3が挟み付けられ、プラスチックフィルム1の送りにともない、摩擦によってピンチローラ9が回転し、ピンチローラ9によって両側縁部3がヒートシールされ、そのヒートシール部10が形成される。駆動モータによってピンチローラ9を回転させてもよい。
 なお、プラスチックフィルム1は基材とシーラントをラミネートしたラミネートフィルムからなる。たとえば、プラスチックフィルム1としてOPP(基材)-CPP(シーラント)フィルムが使用されることは従来と同様である。したがって、ピンチローラ9によって両側縁部3が挟み付けられたとき、シーラントによって両側縁部3がヒートシールされるものである。
 この装置の場合、加熱面6の間隔を精密に調整し、両側縁部3の厚さに対応させる必要はない。両側縁部3の厚さに対応させず、それよりも拡大させても、プラスチックフィルム1が長さ方向に送られているとき、各吸入孔7によって両側縁部3を吸引し、両側縁部3を各加熱面6に接触させ、効率的に両側縁部3を予熱することができる。しかも、加熱面6の間隔を両側縁部3の厚さよりも拡大させたとき、各吸入孔7によって両側縁部3が吸引される関係上、両側縁部3間に間隙が形成され、両側縁部3が互いに接触することはなく、両側縁部3間において、そのシーラントが部分的に溶着することはない。したがって、その後、ピンチローラ9によって両側縁部3が挟み付けられ、ヒートシールされたとき、そのシール面にエアは混入せず、捕捉されない。
 したがって、効率的に両側縁部3を予熱し、両側縁部3を的確にヒートシールすることができる。そのシール面にエアは混入せず、捕捉されず、エアによってシール強度が低下することもなく、外観が悪化することもない。
 図2は図1の装置でヒートシールした両側縁部3を示す。そのプラスチックフィルム1はOPP(基材)-CPP(シーラント)フィルムであり、78μmの厚さである。図2を見ると、両側縁部3のシール面にエアは混入せず、捕捉されないことがわかる。図3は従来の装置でヒートシールした両側縁部3を示す。その装置もヒータ5およびピンチローラ9を有するが、ヒータ5の加熱面6にエア吸入孔7は形成されていない。プラスチックフィルム1はOPP(基材)-CPP(シーラント)フィルムであり、78μmの厚さである。そして、図3を見ると、従来の装置では、両側縁部3のシール面にエアが混入し、捕捉されることがわかる。
 図4に示すように、複数のエア吸入孔7ではなく、細長いエア吸入みぞ11を各加熱面6に形成し、エア流路8を各ヒータ5に形成し、各吸入みぞ11に連通させてもよい(図4A)。吸入みぞ11はガイドプレート2に平行にのび、プラスチックフィルム1の送り方向Xにのびる。したがって、ブロワまたは真空ポンプによってエア流路8を真空排気すると、各吸入みぞ11にエアを吸入し、各吸入みぞ11によって両側縁部3を吸引し、両側縁部3を各加熱面6に接触させることができる。
 エア吸入孔7と同様、プラスチックフィルム1の送り方向Xにおいて、複数の吸入みぞ12を間隔を置いて形成してもよい(図4B)。この場合、吸入みぞ12はプラスチックフィルム1の送り方向Xのものである必要はなく、送り方向Xに垂直のものであってもよく、斜めのものであってもよい。

Claims (3)

  1.  プラスチックフィルムを長さ方向に送り、その両側縁部を互いに重ね合わせ、長さ方向にヒートシールするプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置であって、
     前記両側縁部の両側に配置され、それぞれ加熱面を有し、各加熱面が間隔を置いて対向し、前記両側縁部を予熱する一対のヒータと、
     前記各加熱面に形成された複数のエア吸入孔と、
     前記各ヒータに形成され、前記各吸入孔に連通し、前記各吸入孔にエアを吸入し、前記各吸入孔によって前記両側縁部を吸引し、前記両側縁部を前記各加熱面に接触させるエア流路と、
     前記ヒータの下流位置において、前記両側縁部の両側に配置され、前記両側縁部の予熱後、前記両側縁部を挟み付け、ヒートシールする一対のピンチローラとからなるプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置。
  2.  前記プラスチックフィルムの送り方向において、前記各吸入孔が間隔を置いて形成されている請求項1に記載のプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置。
  3.  プラスチックフィルムを長さ方向に送り、その両側縁部を互いに重ね合わせ、長さ方向にヒートシールするプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置であって、
     前記両側縁部の両側に配置され、それぞれ加熱面を有し、各加熱面が間隔を置いて対向し、前記両側縁部を予熱する一対のヒータと、
     前記各加熱面に形成された細長いエア吸入みぞと、
     前記各ヒータに形成され、前記各吸入みぞに連通し、前記各吸入みぞにエアを吸入し、前記各吸入みぞによって前記両側縁部を吸引し、前記両側縁部を前記各加熱面に接触させるエア流路と、
     前記ヒータの下流位置において、前記両側縁部の両側に配置され、前記両側縁部の予熱後、前記両側縁部を挟み付け、ヒートシールする一対のピンチローラとからなるプラスチックフィルムヒートシール装置。
