Abstract
Description
本願は、2012年1月12日に日本に出願された特願2012-4101号、及び2012年6月18日に日本に出願された特願2012-137020号に基づいて優先権を主張し、これらの内容をここに援用する。
ここで、鋳片の長辺面を確実に支持するためには、ロール径を小さくして、鋳片支持ロールの間隔を狭くすることが有効である。しかしながら、ロール径を小さくすると、鋳片支持ロールの剛性が不足し、静圧によってたわむように変形してしまい、鋳片を確実に支持することができない。
そこで、特許文献1、2においては、前述の鋳片支持ロールが静圧によって変形しないように、鋳片支持ロールを支持するバックアップロールが配設されている。
そこで、鋳片の段階でポロシティの発生を抑制するために、例えば特許文献3には、鋳片を圧下するロールセグメント装置が提案されている。このロールセグメント装置においては、下フレームと上フレームとを近接させる圧下手段を備えており、鋳片を圧下することが可能とされている。
一方、分割ロールを採用しない場合には、ロールに負荷される荷重を2つの軸受部で受けることになり、大きな圧下力で鋳片を圧下することができず、ポロシティを十分に低減することができなかった。
また、鋳片支持ロールにバックアップロールを配設した鋳片支持装置では、バルジング変形を低減し、中心偏析を低減することはできるが、鋳片を圧下しないので、ポロシティを十分に低減することができなかった。
また、鋳片に接触するロールのロール径を大きくすることにより、ロールの剛性を向上させた場合には、ロールを鋳片引抜方向において距離を隔てて配設する必要がある。そうすると、バルジング変形が大きくなり、中心偏析が発生するおそれがあった。加えて鋳片を局所的に押圧することになり、鋳片に内部割れが発生するおそれがあった。
このように、従来は、鋳片の中心偏析とポロシティを同時に低減させることはできなかった。
また、鋳片押圧ロールを分割ロールとすることなく、鋳片の幅方向全体を充分に押圧することができ、中心偏析の発生を抑制することができる。
また、前記フレームのそれぞれに、前記鋳片押圧ロール及び前記バックアップロールの組が、鋳片引抜方向に3組以上配設されており、このフレームに圧下手段が2箇所以上設けられているので、3組以上の前記鋳片押圧ロール及び前記バックアップロールによって鋳片を均一に圧下することができる。
これによって、未凝固部が存在する鋳片の幅方向中央領域を大径部によって圧下し、完全凝固している鋳片の幅方向端部を圧下しないことが可能となる。よって、圧下荷重を低減することができる。
また、鋳片押圧ロールがバックアップロールによって支持されているので、鋳片押圧ロールの剛性が低い場合であっても、鋳片押圧ロールが圧下方向へたわみ変形することが抑制される。よって、スラブのような比較的幅の広い鋳片であっても、軸方向中央部に径方向外方へ突出した大径部を有する鋳片押圧ロールを適用することができる。
さらに、上述のように、完全凝固している鋳片の幅方向端部には鋳片押圧ロールが押圧されないことから、鋳片押圧ロールの引抜方向へのたわみ変形も抑制することが可能となる。
この場合、バックアップロールがロール軸方向において複数に分割されていることから、分割されたバックアップロールの間には軸受部が配設される。よって、鋳片押圧ロールを介してバックアップロールに負荷される荷重を複数の軸受部で受けることができ、より大きな圧下力で鋳片を圧下することができるため、確実にポロシティを低減することが可能となる。
さらに、前記バックアップロールは鋳片押圧ロールの前記大径部の幅方向内側に配設されていることが好ましい。鋳片押圧ロールとバックアップロールが均等に接触することで、バックアップロールの摩耗を均等にすることができる。
この場合、前記鋳片押圧ロールに対して引抜方向下流側に配設されたバックアップロールによって引抜抵抗を受けることができ、鋳片押圧ロールの引抜方向へのたわみ変形を抑制することができる。なお、バックアップロールが分割されている場合には、分割されたバックアップロールの少なくとも一つが前記鋳片押圧ロールに対して引抜方向下流側に配設されていればよい。
操業状況によって鋳造速度(鋳片の引抜速度)が変更される場合には、鋳片押圧ロールに作用する引抜抵抗も変動することになる。そのため、鋳片押圧ロールの引抜方向へのたわみ量が変動し、鋳片押圧ロールに振れが生じることになる。
この点、上記したように、分割された複数のバックアップロールを備えることにより、鋳片押圧ロールを引抜方向の上流側及び下流側から支持することができるので、上述の鋳片押圧ロールの振れを抑制できる。
この場合、完全凝固した鋳片の幅方向端部を圧下しないので、圧下荷重を低減することができる。また、鋳片押圧ロールの圧下方向へのたわみ変形や引抜方向へのたわみ変形を抑制することができる。
大径部によって圧下されない前記鋳片の幅方向端部領域が、鋳片の幅方向端部から60mm未満の場合、鋳片の厚みによらず、十分に圧下荷重を低減することができないため、鋳片押圧ロールの圧下方向へのたわみ変形や引抜方向へのたわみ変形を抑制しにくいことが、実験的知見によりわかった。
他方、鋳片幅方向端部の凝固部領域の幅は、圧下が必要な鋳造方向凝固端部付近では、最大1.5×tであることが実験的知見によりわかった。そのため、大径部によって圧下されない前記鋳片の幅方向端部領域が、鋳片の幅方向端部から1.5×tを超える場合、未凝固部位の幅方向全体を圧下しにくくなり、鋳片にバルジング変形が発生し、中心偏析やポロシティといった内部欠陥に繋がり易くなる。
この連続鋳造設備10は、水冷鋳型11と、この水冷鋳型11の下方に位置する鋳片支持ロール群20と、を備えており、水冷鋳型11から引き抜かれた鋳片1を下方へと引き抜く垂直帯14と、鋳片1を湾曲させる湾曲帯15と、湾曲させた鋳片1を曲げ戻す矯正帯16と、鋳片1を水平方向へ搬送する水平帯17と、を有する垂直曲げ型連続鋳造機とされている。
また、この水冷鋳型11には、矩形孔内の溶鋼を冷却するための1次冷却手段(図示なし)が備えられている。
ここで、これらの鋳片支持ロール群20は、鋳片1の長辺面を支持する構成とされている。
また、2次冷却手段として、鋳片1の長辺面に向けて冷却水を噴出するスプレーノズル(図示なし)が連続鋳造設備10に配設されている。
図2に示すように、鋳片押圧ロール31、32は、そのロール軸方向長さが鋳片1の長辺幅よりも長く設定されている。また、鋳片押圧ロール31、32は、その両端が各々軸受部35によって軸支されており、中心軸を中心に回転自在とされている。また、第1フレーム51の鋳片押圧ロール31と、第2フレーム52の鋳片押圧ロール32とのロール間隔は、鋳片引抜方向Z下流側に向かうにしたがって狭くなるように調整されている。
ここで、本実施形態では、鋳片押圧ロール31、32のロール径が320mm以下、鋳片引抜方向Zのロールピッチが340mm以下とされていることが好ましい。
このバックアップロール40は、図2に示すように、鋳片押圧ロール31、32の軸方向(鋳片1の幅方向)において複数に分割されており、本実施形態では、第1バックアップロール41、第2バックアップロール42、第3バックアップロール43の3つに分割されている。これらの第1バックアップロール41、第2バックアップロール42、第3バックアップロール43は、その両端が軸受部45によって各々軸支されており、それぞれ中心軸を中心に回転自在とされている。
この圧下手段54は、例えばサーボ付きの油圧シリンダで構成されており、シリンダロッド56の一端が第1フレーム51に固定されており、第2フレーム52が第1フレーム51に対して近接離反するように構成されている。
この鋳片1は、図1に示すように、ピンチロール部24によって下方に向けて引き抜かれるとともにベンディングロール部25によって湾曲させられる。そして、矯正ロール部26によって曲げ戻され、水平ロール部27によって水平方向に搬送される。
このとき、水冷鋳型11から引き抜かれた鋳片1は、中心固相率が0.2以上となった領域において、本実施形態である鋳片圧下装置30によって圧下される。
ちなみに、鋳片の中心固相率が0.2以上では、中心偏析やポロシティの問題が発生することは実験的に知見されており、固相率が0.2以上の領域で圧下することにより、本発明の効果が顕著となることから、鋳片の中心固相率が0.2以上の領域で圧下することが好ましい。
一方、鋳片の中心固相率の上限は、中心偏析やポロシティの問題が発生する領域であることから、1.0である。
また、中心固相率は、伝熱・凝固計算によって求めることができ、伝熱・凝固計算としては、エンタルピー法や等価比熱法などが広く知られており、いずれの方法を用いてもよい。また、簡易的には、下記の式が広く知られており、この式を用いてもよい。
中心固相率=(液相線温度-溶融部温度)/(液相線温度-固相線温度)
ここで、溶融部温度とは、鋳片厚み方向の中心部で、かつ、鋳片幅方向の溶融部分の温度を意味しており、伝熱・凝固計算によって求めることができる。また、液相線温度は、例えば、「鐵と鋼、日本鐡鋼協會々誌、Vol.55、No.3(19690227)S85、社団法人日本鉄鋼協会」を参照して、また、固相線温度は、例えば、「平居、金丸、森;学振19委、第5回凝固現象協議会資料、凝固46(1968年12月)」を参照して、それぞれ算出することができる。
また、鋳片押圧ロール31、32はロール軸方向に分割されていないので、鋳片1の幅方向全体を押圧することができ、バルジング変形に起因する中心偏析の発生を抑制することができる。
なお、鋳片押圧ロール31、32のサイズや、鋳片引抜方向Zのロールピッチの下限値は、特に限定されるものではなく、実際の操業が可能な範囲で設定すればよい。
ちなみに、本実施形態では、鋳片の幅方向の両側2箇所に加えて、各々鋳片引抜方向Zにも2箇所の合計4箇所に設けられているので、鋳片引抜方向Zに圧下勾配を付与することも可能である。
また、フレームに設けた圧下手段を構成する装置(例えば、シリンダー径など)を大きくするだけで圧下力をより大きくできるので、鋳片圧下装置を鋳造方向に大型化すること無く、より大きい圧下力を付与することが可能となる。
ちなみに、バックアップロール40のロール軸方向における分割数は、複数(2つ以上)であればよく、本実施形態では3つの場合を示している。この分割数の上限は特に限定されるものではなく、実際の操業が可能な範囲で設定すればよい。このように、本実施形態である鋳片圧下装置30によれば、ポロシティ、中心偏析、内部割れの発生が抑制された高品質の鋳片1を製造することが可能となる。
例えば、本実施形態では、複数に分割されたバックアップロールを備えたものとして説明したが、これに限定されることはなく、分割されていない1つのバックアップロールを備えたものであってもよい。ただし、バックアップロールを複数に分割することにより、圧下荷重を分散して受けることができ、大きな圧下力で鋳片を圧下できるため、バックアップロールを複数に分割することが好ましい。
また、バックアップロールの分割数に制限はなく、2つ、あるいは、4つ以上に分割したものであってもよい。
さらに、垂直曲げ型連続鋳造機に配設するものとして説明したが、湾曲型連続鋳造機や垂直型連続鋳造機や水平型連続鋳造機に適用してもよい。
具体的には、垂直曲げ型連続鋳造設備の場合、垂直部、湾曲部、水平部のいずれの位置に配置しても良い。湾曲型連続鋳造設備の場合、湾曲部、水平部のいずれの位置に配置しても良い。曲げ部、矯正部を持たない水平連続鋳造設備、垂直連続鋳造設備の場合はいずれの位置に配置しても良い。
なお、鋳片1の幅方向端部領域S2は、鋳片1の厚さtとして、鋳片1の幅方向端部から60mm以上であり、かつ、鋳片1の幅方向端部から1.5×t以下の領域とされている。この例では、鋳片1の幅方向端部から60mm以上であり、かつ、鋳片1の幅方向端部から360mm以下の領域とされている。
ここで、これらのバックアップロール40は、鋳片押圧ロール32の大径部201を支持するように配置されている。
また、これらの第1バックアップロール41、第2バックアップロール42、第3バックアップロール43は、その両端が軸支部45によって軸支されており、それぞれ中心軸Ob1、Ob2、Ob3を中心に回転自在とされている。
すなわち、第1バックアップロール41及び第3バックアップロール43と、第2バックアップロール42と、によって、鋳片押圧ロール31、32を引抜方向Zで挟持するようにしてもよい。
また、鋳片押圧ロール32の中心軸Owと第1バックアップロール41及び第3バックアップロール43の中心軸Ob1,Ob3との引抜方向Zのずれ量Xは、sin0.23°×(Rw+Rb)≦X≦sin5°×(Rw+Rb)の範囲内とされている。なお、Rwは鋳片押圧ロール32の大径部201の半径であり、Rbはバックアップロール40の半径である。
また、前記角度θを、θ≧0.23°としているので、前記バックアップロールによって確実に引抜抵抗を受けることができ、鋳片支持ロールの引抜方向へのたわみ変形を抑制することが可能となる。
さらに、完全凝固している鋳片1の幅方向端部領域S2に鋳片押圧ロール32の小径部202が位置されていることから、未凝固部3が存在する幅方向中央領域S1においてのみ引抜抵抗が作用することになり、鋳片押圧ロール32の引抜方向へのたわみ変形も防止することが可能となる。
さらに、前記した例では、鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロール31、32のうちの一方の鋳片押圧ロール32が大径部201を有するものとして説明したが、これに限定されることはなく、鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロール31、32の両方が大径部を有していてもよい。
900mm以上の幅広の鋳片であっても、鋳片押圧ロール31、32がバックアップロールによって支持されているので、鋳片押圧ロール31、32が圧下方向へたわみ変形することが抑制されることになる。また、鋳片押圧ロール31、32の引抜方向へのたわみ変形も抑制される。したがって、確実に鋳片1の幅方向中央部を圧下でき、バルジング変形による中心偏析やポロシティといった内部欠陥の発生を抑制することが可能となる
この実験では、図1に示す垂直曲げ型連続鋳造機の水平帯に、図8から図12に示す鋳片圧下装置を、鋳片の引抜方向に2台連続に設置し、鋳造中の鋳片を圧下し、圧下力指数、バルジング指数、中心偏析指数、ポロシティ指数を評価した。
鋳片のサイズは、厚さ300mm×幅2200mm、鋳造速度は0.9m/min、鋳片圧下装置を配置した鋳片中心固相率が0.2~1.0の範囲となるように、鋳型下22mの位置から鋳片の引抜方向に2台連続に鋳片圧下装置を設置した。
また、鋳片押圧ロール及びバックアップロールのロール径を270mmとし、フレームの鋳片引抜方向に、7組の鋳片押圧ロールを配設した。さらに、第1フレーム及び第2フレームは、4つの圧下手段(油圧シリンダ)で連結されたものとした。
本発明例1として、図9に示すように、鋳片の幅よりもロール軸方向長さの長い鋳片押圧ロール31、32を有し、この鋳片押圧ロール1本に対して、1本のバックアップロールを配設した構造の鋳片圧下装置を用いた。
本発明例3として、図11に示すように、鋳片の幅よりもロール軸方向長さの長い鋳片押圧ロール31、32を有し、この鋳片押圧ロール1本に対して、ロール軸方向に3分割したバックアップロール40を配設した構造の鋳片圧下装置を用いた。
本発明例4として、図12に示すように、鋳片の幅よりもロール軸方向長さの長い鋳片押圧ロール31、32を有し、上側の鋳片押圧ロール32が、軸方向中央部に径方向外方へ突出した大径部を有し、この鋳片押圧ロール1本に対して、ロール軸方向に3分割したバックアップロール40を配設した構造の鋳片圧下装置を用いた。鋳片を押圧する大径部のロール径を270mmとし、それ以外の部分のロール径を255mmとした。大径部の長さは1900mmとした。複数のバックアップロールで支持する大径部の範囲を1890mmとした。

ちなみに、(1)式の5.0という値は、操業実績から、軸受への荷重の適正範囲内の値であることから、5.0に設定した。
圧下量指数は、鋳造後、鋳片厚みを実測し、圧下を加えた場合と加えなかった場合との厚み差を、鋳片に加えられた圧下量として求め、従来例における圧下量を基準として、相対値で示した。

ここで、鋳片Mn偏析度とは、(Mn偏析部のMn濃度の最大値)/(鋳片全体のMn濃度)であり、次のような手順で測定した。
鋳片の幅方向に沿って、10箇所、均等に分割した位置から、鋳片厚み中央部を中心に50mm×50mmのサンプルを採取し、このサンプルの表面を研磨した後、鋳片厚み方向にX線による線分析を実施し、Mn濃度のピーク値を測定し、Mn偏析部のMn濃度とした。鋳片全体のMn濃度は、溶鋼段階で分析、測定した値を用いた。
(1)鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロールの一方(上側)のみが軸方向中央部に大径部を有し、かつこれを支持するバックアップロールを有する場合、
(2)鋳片押圧ロールが軸方向中央部に大径部を有さないが、これを支持するバックアップロールを有する場合、
(3)鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロールの一方(上側)のみが軸方向中央部に大径部を有するが、これを支持するバックアップロールを有さない場合。これらケース(1)、(2)、(3)の概要を図14、図15、図16に示す。同図内に各ケースにおける圧下荷重を示す。
また(1)と(3)の比較により、鋳片押圧ロールを、剛性の高い板状フレームに配設したバックアップロールで支持することで、鋳片押圧ロールのたわみ変形を6分の1程度まで抑制可能であることが確認された。なおケース(1)と(2)の比較、および(1)と(3)の比較において、対になる鋳片押圧ロールの他方(下側)のみが大径部を有するとした場合でも、それぞれ同様の効果が得られる。
(4)鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロールの一方(上側)のみが軸方向中央部に大径部を有し、バックアップロールの軸線と鋳片押圧ロールの軸線とが引抜方向で一致している場合、
(5)鋳片押圧ロールが軸方向中央部に大径部を有さず、バックアップロールの軸線と鋳片押圧ロールの軸線とが引抜方向で一致している場合、
(6)鋳片を挟んで対になる鋳片押圧ロールの一方(上側)のみが軸方向中央部に大径部を有し、バックアップロールの1つが引抜方向下流側に配置された場合。これらケース(4)、(5)、(6)の概要を図18、図19、図20に示す。
また(6)のようにバックアップロールの1つを引抜方向下流側に配置した場合、(4)の場合に比べ、引抜抵抗を支持する箇所が増えたため、鋳片押圧ロールのたわみ変形を8分の1程度まで抑制可能であることが確認された。なおケース(4)と(5)の比較、および(4)と(6)の比較において、対になる鋳片押圧ロールの他方(下側)のみが大径部を有するとした場合でも、同様の効果が得られる。
ここで、内部割れ発生率は、無作為に抽出した鋳片の鋳造方向断面のエッチプリントに、1箇所以上の内部割れが目視で確認された確率を示す。実験条件と内部割れの発生率の結果を表2に示す。

Claims (6)
- 鋳型から引き抜かれる鋳片を圧下する鋳片圧下装置であって、
前記鋳片を挟持して押圧する一対の鋳片押圧ロールと、この鋳片押圧ロールを支持するバックアップロールと、互いに対向するように配置された一対のフレームと、を有し、
前記フレームのそれぞれに、前記鋳片押圧ロール及び前記バックアップロールの組が、鋳片引抜方向に3組以上配設されており、
前記一対のフレームには、前記一対のフレーム間の距離を近接離反させる圧下手段が2箇所以上設けられている、
鋳片圧下装置。 - 前記鋳片を挟んで対になる前記鋳片押圧ロールの少なくとも一方は、軸方向中央部に、径方向外方へ突出した大径部を有する、請求項1に記載の鋳片圧下装置。
- 前記バックアップロールは、前記鋳片押圧ロールの軸方向において複数に分割されている、請求項1に記載の鋳片圧下装置。
- 前記バックアップロールが、前記鋳片押圧ロールに対して前記鋳片の引抜方向下流側に配設されている、請求項1に記載の鋳片圧下装置。
- 前記バックアップロールは、前記鋳片押圧ロールの軸方向において分割されており、少なくとも一つのバックアップロールが前記鋳片の引抜方向下流側に配設され、少なくとも一つのバックアップロールが前記鋳片の引抜方向上流側に配設されている、請求項1に記載の鋳片圧下装置。
- 前記鋳片の厚さtとした場合に、前記鋳片押圧ロールの前記大径部によって圧下されない前記鋳片の幅方向端部領域が、前記鋳片の幅方向端部から60mm以上であり、かつ、鋳片の幅方向端部から1.5×t以下の領域とされている、請求項2から5のいずれかに記載の鋳片圧下装置。
