- 3 g / m 2 of the coating agent was applied on the surface of commercially available thermal paper (manufactured by KOKUYO Corporation) in terms of solid content using a wire bar coater.
- the coated surface was dried at 50 ° C. for 10 minutes using a hot air dryer to obtain a heat-sensitive recording material.
- the obtained thermal recording material was left in a room adjusted to 20 ° C. and 65% RH for 3 hours to evaluate the characteristics (water resistance and blocking resistance) of the overcoat layer of the thermal recording material formed by the coating agent. It was set as the sample for doing.
- the obtained film was cut into a size of 10 cm in length and 10 cm in width to prepare a test piece. After this test piece was immersed in boiling water at 90 ° C. for 1 hour, it was taken out (collected), the water adhering to the surface was wiped off with gauze, and the mass at the time of water swelling was measured. The test piece whose weight during water swelling was measured was dried at 105 ° C. for 16 hours, and then the weight during drying was measured. Here, a value obtained by dividing the mass at the time of water swelling by the mass at the time of drying was obtained, and this was taken as the degree of swelling (times), and was judged in five stages according to the following criteria.
- the swelling degree of the film of Example 1 was 3.8 times, and the evaluation was “A”.
- the obtained sample of heat-sensitive recording material was left in an atmosphere at 40 ° C. for 72 hours, and then cut into 5 cm square. Next, after dropping one drop (about 30 ⁇ L) of water on the overcoat layer, another sample on which no water drop was dropped was stacked on the overcoat layer so that the overcoat layers were in contact with each other and allowed to dry naturally. After drying, the samples were peeled apart, the state of how they were peeled off, and evaluated in three stages according to the following criteria. As a result, the blocking resistance of the heat-sensitive recording material of Example 1 was “A”. A: Separated naturally without any particular force. B: The surfaces were partially adhered to each other, but the sample was not broken. C: The surfaces were adhered to each other, and the sample was torn by peeling.
- Examples 2 to 26 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 Except that the PVA used, the compound (B) and the type of polyamide polyamine epichlorohydrin resin (C), and the content thereof were changed as shown in Table 2, the film and the heat-sensitive film were obtained in the same manner as in Example 1. A recording material was prepared. With respect to the obtained film and heat-sensitive recording material, the boiling water resistance of the film and the water resistance and blocking resistance of the heat-sensitive recording material were evaluated in the same manner as in Example 1. The results are shown in Table 2.
- the films (compositions) obtained in Examples 1 to 27 are excellent in boiling water resistance (water resistance) (Evaluations A to C). Furthermore, the viscosity average polymerization degree (P), saponification degree, content rate (S) of PVA (A), product (P ⁇ S) of viscosity average polymerization degree (P) and content rate (S), and PVA (A) /
- the coatings of Examples 5, 8, 9, 14 to 16, and 22 have slightly reduced boiling water resistance. This is because the viscosity average polymerization degree (P) and saponification degree of PVA (A) are decreased, the product (P ⁇ S) of the viscosity average polymerization degree (P) and the content rate (S) is small, the compound ( This is because the blending amount of B) is small or large, or the blending amount of the polyamide polyamine epichlorohydrin resin (C) is too large.
- the heat-sensitive recording materials of Examples 3 to 9, 11, 12, 14 to 16, and 22 have slightly reduced water resistance and / or blocking resistance.
- the details of Examples 11 and 12 are not clear, but due to the difference in the structure of the monomer units, the viscosity of the coating liquid is increased and the water resistance and the like are slightly decreased due to difficulty in penetrating into paper. It is thought that.
- composition of the present invention can be suitably used as a coating agent for producing a heat-sensitive recording material, an ink jet recording material, a release paper base paper or the like.

A:5.0倍未満
