Abstract
Description
本願は、2010年1月26日に、日本に出願された特願2010-014398号及び2010年1月26日に、日本に出願された特願2010-014399号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
そこで、バネ性、強度、導電率の優れた銅合金として、例えば特許文献1には、Beを含有したCu-Be合金が提供されている。このCu-Be合金は、析出硬化型の高強度合金であり、Cuの母相中にCuBeを時効析出させることによって、導電率を低下させることなく強度を向上させている。
このように、Cu-Be合金は、原料コスト及び製造コストがともに高く、非常に高価であるといった問題があった。また、前述のように、有害な元素であるBeを含有していることから、環境対策の面からも敬遠されていた。
そこで、Cu-Be合金を代替可能な材料が強く望まれていた。
また、Snは、Beよりは安価であるが、比較的高価な元素である。このため、やはり、原料コストが上昇してしまうことになる。
さらに、MgとSnとを共に含有することによって、これらの化合物である(Cu,Sn)2MgやCu4MgSnの析出物が、銅の母相中に分散することになる。これにより、析出硬化によって強度を向上させることができる。ここで、質量比Mg/Snを0.4以上とすることによって、Mgに比較してSnの含有量が必要以上に多くならず、低融点の金属間化合物が残存することを防止でき、加工性を確保することができる。
前述したMgとSnとを共に含有することによる強度向上の効果を確実に得ることができるとともに、Snの含有量がさらに抑えられ、加工性を確保することができる。
Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnは、銅合金の特性を向上させる効果を有しており、用途にあわせて選択的に含有させることによって特性を向上させることが可能となる。
Bは、強度及び耐熱性を向上させる元素である。しかしながら、Bを多量に含有すると導電率が低下することになる。よって、Bの含有量を0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下とすることによって、導電率の低下を抑えつつ、強度及び耐熱性の向上を図ることが可能となる。
Pは、溶解鋳造時において、銅溶湯の粘性を低下させる効果がある。このため、鋳造作業を容易とするために、銅合金中に添加されることが多い。しかしながら、Pは、Mgと反応することからMgの効果を低減してしまう。また、導電率を大きく低下させる元素である。このため、Pの含有量を0.004質量%未満とすることによって、前述したMgの効果を確実に得て強度の向上を図ることができる。また、導電率の低下を抑制できる。
この場合、強度及び導電率に優れており、前述の電子電気部品に適した高強度高導電性銅合金を提供できる。例えば、この高強度高導電性銅合金をコネクタ端子やリードフレームなどに適用することによって、コネクタ端子やリードフレーム等の薄肉化を図ることが可能となる。
この第2の態様に係る高強度高導電性銅合金は、0.1質量%を超えて7質量%未満の含有量でNiをさらに含有する第1の態様に係る高強度高導電性銅合金である。
しかしながら、Mg、Snを多量に含有すると、Mg、Snの偏析により、鋳塊内部においてMgやSnを含有する金属間化合物が不均一に生成することになる。特に、Snを多く含む金属間化合物は融点が低く、その後の熱処理工程において溶解してしまうおそれがある。Snを多く含む金属間化合物が溶解すると、その後の熱処理の際に金属間化合物が残存し易くなる。このような金属間化合物の残存に起因して加工性が悪くなる。従って、Mgの含有量を、1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満とし、Snの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満とする。
以上のことから、Niの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて7質量%未満とする。これにより、強度の向上、加工性の向上及び導電性の確保を図ることが可能となる。
Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snが0.2以上とされているので、Snの含有量が少なくなる。このため、低融点の金属間化合物の生成を抑制でき、加工性を確保できる。さらに、質量比Ni/Snが3以下とされているので、過剰なNiが存在せず、導電率の低下を防止できる。
P,Bは、強度及び耐熱性を向上させる元素である。また、Pは、溶解鋳造時において、銅溶湯の粘性を低下させる効果がある。しかしながら、P、Bを多量に含有すると、導電率が低下することになる。このため、P、Bの含有量を0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下とすることによって、導電率の低下を抑えつつ、強度及び耐熱性の向上を図ることが可能となる。
Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnは、銅合金の特性を向上させる効果を有しており、用途にあわせて選択的に含有させることによって特性を向上させることが可能となる。
この場合、強度及び導電率に優れており、前述の電子電気部品に適した高強度高導電性銅合金を提供できる。例えば、この高強度高導電性銅合金をコネクタ端子やリードフレームなどに適用することによって、コネクタ端子やリードフレーム等の薄肉化を図ることが可能となる。
(第1の実施形態)
第1の実施形態に係る高強度高導電性銅合金は、Mg:1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満、Sn:0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnのうちの少なくとも1種以上:0.01質量%以上5質量%以下、B:0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下、及びP:0.004質量%未満を含み、残部がCuと不可避不純物からなる組成を有している。
そして、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4以上である。
第1の実施形態に係る高強度高導電性銅合金の引張強度は750MPa以上であり、導電率は10%IACS以上である。
以下に、これらの元素の含有量を前述の範囲に設定した理由について説明する。
Mgは、導電率を大きく低下させることなく、強度を向上させるとともに再結晶温度を上昇させる作用効果を有する元素である。ここで、Mgの含有量が1.0質量%以下では、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Mgの含有量が4.0質量%以上の場合、均質化及び溶体化のために熱処理を行った際に、Mgを含む金属間化合物が残存してしまい、十分な均質化及び溶体化を行うことができなくなる。これにより、熱処理後の冷間加工や熱間加工において割れが発生するおそれがある。
このような理由から、Mgの含有量を、1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満に設定している。
さらに、Mgは活性元素であることから、過剰に添加されることによって、溶解鋳造時に、酸素と反応して生成されたMg酸化物を巻きこむおそれがある。このMg酸化物の巻きこみを抑制するためには、Mgの含有量を、1.0質量%を超えて3質量%未満とすることが好ましい。
Snは、銅の母相中に固溶することにより、強度を向上させるとともに再結晶温度を上昇させる作用効果を有する元素である。ここで、Snの含有量が0.1質量%以下では、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Snの含有量が5質量%以上の場合、導電率が大きく低下することになる。また、Snの偏析により、Snを含有する低融点の金属間化合物が不均一に生成する。このため、均質化及び溶体化のために熱処理を行った際に、Snを含有する低融点の金属間化合物が残存してしまい、十分な均質化及び溶体化を行うことができなくなる。これにより、熱処理後の冷間加工や熱間加工において割れが発生することになる。また、Snは比較的高価な元素であることから、必要以上に添加した場合には、製造コストが上昇することになる。
このような理由から、Snの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満に設定している。なお、前述の作用効果を確実に得るためには、Snの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて2質量%未満とすることが好ましい。
MgとSnとを共に含有する場合には、これらの化合物である(Cu,Sn)2MgやCu4MgSnの析出物が銅の母相中に分散し、析出硬化によって強度を向上させることができる。
ここで、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4未満である場合には、Mgの含有量に比して多くのSnを含有することになる。この場合、前述のように、低融点の金属間化合物が生じ易くなり、加工性が低下してしまう。
このような理由から、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snを0.4以上とし、加工性を確保している。
なお、Snを含有する低融点の金属間化合物の残存を抑制して加工性を確実に確保するとともに、Snによる強度向上の効果を確実に得るためには、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snを0.8以上10以下とすることが好ましい。
Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnは、銅合金の特性を向上させる効果を有しており、用途にあわせて選択的に含有させることによって、特性を向上させることが可能となる。ここで、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素の含有量が0.01質量%未満では、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素の含有量が5質量%を超える場合には、導電率が大きく低下する。
このような理由から、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素の含有量を、0.01質量%以上5質量%以下に設定している。
Bは、強度及び耐熱性を向上させる元素である。ここで、Bの含有量が0.001質量%未満の場合、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Bの含有量が0.5質量%を超える場合には、導電率が大きく低下する。
このような理由から、Bの含有量を、0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下に設定している。
Pは、溶解鋳造時において、銅溶湯の粘性を低下させる効果がある。このため、鋳造作業を容易とするために、銅合金中に添加されることが多い。しかしながら、Pは、Mgと反応することからMgの効果を低減してしまう。さらに、Pは導電率を大きく低下させる元素である。
よって、Mgの効果を確実に得るとともに、導電率の低下を抑制するために、Pの含有量を0.004質量%未満としている。
さらに、Bを含有し、その含有量が0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下とされている。このため、導電率の低下を抑えつつ、強度及び耐熱性の向上を図ることが可能となる。
また、Pの含有量が0.004質量%未満とされているので、MgとPとの反応を抑制でき、Mgの効果を確実に得ることが可能となる。
第2の実施形態に係る高強度高導電性銅合金は、Mg:1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満、Sn:0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満、Ni:0.1質量%を超えて7質量%未満、P及びBのうちいずれか一方又は両方:0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnのうちの少なくとも1種以上:0.01質量%以上5質量%以下を含み、残部がCuと不可避不純物からなる組成を有している。
そして、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4以上であり、Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snが0.2以上3以下である。
第2の実施形態は、Niを更に含有していること及びPの含有量が0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下であることが、第1の実施形態とは異なる。
以下に、これらの元素の含有量を前述の範囲に設定した理由について説明する。
Mgは、導電率を大きく低下させることなく、強度を向上させるとともに再結晶温度を上昇させる作用効果を有する元素である。ここで、Mgの含有量が1.0質量%以下では、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Mgの含有量が4.0質量%以上の場合、均質化及び溶体化のために熱処理を行った際に、Mgを含む金属間化合物が残存してしまい、十分な均質化及び溶体化を行うことができなくなる。これにより、熱処理後の冷間加工や熱間加工において割れが発生するおそれがある。
このような理由から、Mgの含有量を、1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満に設定している。

このような理由から、Snの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満に設定している。なお、前述の作用効果を確実に得るためには、Snの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて2質量%未満とすることが好ましい。
Niは、Mg及びSnと共に含有されることによって、強度を向上させるとともに再結晶温度を上昇させる作用効果を有する元素である。また、Niは、鋳塊内部において偏析する金属間化合物の融点を高くする作用を有している。このため、その後の熱処理工程における金属間化合物の溶融を抑制でき、加工性を向上させる効果を有する。ここで、Niの含有量が0.1質量%以下の場合、その作用効果を得ることができない。
一方、Niの含有量が7質量%以上の場合、導電率が大きく低下することになる。
このような理由から、Niの含有量を、0.1質量%を超えて7質量%未満に設定している。
MgとSnとを共に含有する場合には、これらの化合物である(Cu,Sn)2MgやCu4MgSnの析出物が銅の母相中に分散し、析出硬化によって強度を向上させることができる。
ここで、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4未満である場合には、Mgの含有量に比して多くのSnを含有することになる。この場合、前述のように、低融点の金属間化合物が生じ、加工性が悪化してしまう。従って、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snを0.4以上とし、加工性を確保している。
なお、Snを含有する低融点の金属間化合物の残存を抑制して加工性を確実に確保するとともに、Snによる強度向上の効果を確実に得るためには、Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snを0.8以上10以下とすることが好ましい。
Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snが0.2未満である場合には、Niの含有量に比して多くのSnを含有することになる。この場合、前述のように、低融点の金属間化合物が生じやすくなり、加工性が低下してしまう。
また、Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snが3を超える場合には、Niの含有量が多くなり、導電率が大きく低下してしまう。
従って、Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snを0.2以上3以下とし、これにより加工性を確保するとともに、導電率を確保している。
B及びPは、強度及び耐熱性を向上させる元素である。また、Pは、溶解鋳造時において、銅溶湯の粘性を低下させる効果がある。ここで、B,Pの含有量が0.001質量%未満の場合、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、B,Pの含有量が0.5質量%を超える場合、導電率が大きく低下する。
このような理由から、B及びPのいずれか一方又は両方の含有量を、0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下に設定している。
Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnは、銅合金の特性を向上させる効果を有しており、用途にあわせて選択的に含有させることによって、特性を向上させることが可能となる。ここで、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素の含有量が0.01質量%未満では、その作用効果を得ることはできない。
一方、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素を、5質量%を超えて含有する場合には、導電率が大きく低下する。
このような理由から、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素の含有量を、0.01質量%以上5質量%以下に設定している。
さらに、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上を含有し、その含有量が0.01質量%以上5質量%以下とされている。このため、Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上の元素によって、導電率を著しく低下させることなく、銅合金の特性を向上させることが可能となる。
次に、第1,2の実施形態に係る高強度高導電性銅合金の製造方法について説明する。
(溶解鋳造工程)
まず、銅原料を溶解して得られた銅溶湯に、前述の元素を添加して成分調整を行い、銅合金溶湯を製出する。なお、添加する元素を含む原料として、元素単体や母合金等を用いることができる。また、これらの元素を含む原料を銅原料とともに溶解してもよい。また、本合金のリサイクル材及びスクラップ材を用いてもよい。
ここで、銅溶湯は、純度が99.99%以上の4NCuであることが好ましい。また、溶解工程では、Mg等の酸化を抑制するために、真空炉、あるいは、不活性ガス雰囲気又は還元性雰囲気とされた雰囲気炉を用いることが好ましい。
そして、成分調整された銅合金溶湯を鋳型に注入して鋳塊を製出する。なお、量産を考慮する場合には、連続鋳造法又は半連続鋳造法を用いることが好ましい。
次に、得られた鋳塊の均質化及び溶体化のために1次熱処理を行う。凝固の過程において、添加元素が偏析して濃縮することによって、金属間化合物などが生成する。鋳塊の内部には、これら金属間化合物などが存在している。そこで、鋳塊に対して1次熱処理を行うことによって、鋳塊内において、添加元素を均質に拡散させたり、添加元素を銅の母相中に固溶させる。これにより、金属間化合物などの偏析を消失又は低減させたり、また金属間化合物自体を消失又は低減させる。
この1次熱処理工程における熱処理条件は、特に限定されないが、500℃~800℃の温度にて、非酸化性又は還元性雰囲気中で1次熱処理を実施することが好ましい。
熱処理された鋳塊を切断するとともに、熱処理などで生成された酸化膜などを除去するために表面研削を行う。そして、所定の形状とするために加工を行う。
ここで、加工方法は特に限定されず、例えば最終形態が板や条の場合には、圧延を採用でき、最終形態が線や棒の場合には、線引き、押出、溝圧延を採用できる。また最終形態がバルク形状の場合には、鍛造やプレスを採用できる。なお、この加工時の温度条件は特に限定されないが、冷間又は温間加工であることが好ましい。また、加工率は、最終形状に近似するように適宜選択されるが、20%以上とすることが好ましい。
次に、加工工程によって得られた加工材に対して、低温焼鈍硬化及び析出硬化を行うために、又は、残留ひずみの除去のために、2次熱処理を実施する。この2次熱処理の条件は、製出される製品に求められる特性に応じて適宜設定される。
なお、2次熱処理の条件は、特に限定されないが、温度が150℃~600℃で、10秒~24時間、非酸化性又は還元性雰囲気中で2次熱処理を実施することが好ましい。また、2次熱処理前の加工とこの2次熱処理とを複数回実施してもよい。
このようにして、第1,2の実施形態である高強度高導電性銅合金が製出(製造)される。
例えば、第1の実施形態では、Mg,Sn以外の元素も含有するものとして説明したが、これに限定されることはなく、Mg,Sn以外の元素については必要に応じて添加すればよい。
第2の実施形態では、Mg,Sn及びNi以外の元素を含有するものとして説明したが、これに限定されることはなく、Mg,Sn及びNi以外の元素については必要に応じて添加すればよい。
また、第1,2の実施形態に係る高強度高導電性銅合金の製造方法の一例について説明したが、製造方法は本実施形態に限定されることはなく、既存の製造方法を適宜選択して製造してもよい。
純度99.99%以上の無酸素銅からなる銅原料を準備した。この銅原料を高純度グラファイト坩堝内に装入して、Arガス雰囲気とされた雰囲気炉内において高周波溶解した。得られた銅溶湯内に、各種添加元素を添加して表1に示す成分組成に調製した。次いで、銅合金溶湯をカーボン鋳型に注湯して鋳塊を製出した。なお、鋳塊の大きさは、厚さ約20mm×幅約20mm×長さ約100mmとした。
熱処理後の鋳塊を切断するとともに、酸化被膜を除去するために表面研削を実施した。これにより、厚さ約8mm×幅約18mm×長さ約100mmの素体ブロックを製出した。
この条材に対して、Arガス雰囲気中にて、表1に記載した温度で1~4時間の熱処理(2次熱処理)を実施し、特性評価用条材を作製した。
加工性の評価として、前述の冷間圧延時における耳割れ(cracked edge)の有無を観察した。目視で耳割れが全くあるいはほとんど認められなかったものをA(Excellent)、長さ1mm未満の小さな耳割れが発生したものをB(Good)、長さ1mm以上3mm未満の耳割れが発生したものをC(Fair)、長さ3mm以上の大きな耳割れが発生したものをD(Bad)、耳割れに起因して圧延途中で破断したものをE(Very Bad)とした。
なお、耳割れの長さとは、圧延材の幅方向端部から幅方向中央部に向かう耳割れの長さのことである。
(引張強度)
特性評価用条材からJIS Z 2201に規定される13B号試験片を採取し、JIS Z 2241の規定に従って、室温(25℃)での試験片の引張強度を測定した。なお、試験片は、引張試験の引張方向が特性評価用条材の圧延方向に対して平行になるように採取した。
特性評価用条材から幅10mm×長さ60mmの試験片を採取し、4端子法によって電気抵抗を求めた。また、マイクロメータを用いて試験片の寸法測定を行い、試験片の体積を算出した。そして、測定した電気抵抗値と体積の値から、導電率を算出した。なお、試験片は、その長手方向が特性評価用条材の圧延方向に対して平行になるように採取した。
評価結果を表1~3に示す。
また、Mg及びSnを含有し、Mgの含有量が1質量%未満である比較例1-2については、引張強度が735MPaであった。
さらに、Mg及びSnを含有し、Mgの含有量が1質量%未満であり、かつMgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4未満である比較例1-3については、引張強度が645MPaであった。
また、Mgのみを含有し、Mgの含有量が1質量%以上である比較例1-4では、引張強度が663MPaと低かった。
また、Mgのみを含有し、Mgの含有量が4質量%以上である比較例1-6では、長さ3mm以上の大きな耳割れが発生した。
さらに、Mg及びSnを含有し、Mgの含有量が4質量%以上である比較例1-7については、耳割れが激しく圧延途中で破断した。
また、Niの含有量が7質量%以上である比較例2-4においては、導電率が9.6%IACSと低い値を示した。
また、Niを含有していない比較例2-6では、圧延時に大きな耳割れが発生し、圧延の途中で破断した。
さらに、Mgの含有量が4質量%以上である比較例2-9,2-10についても、冷間圧延時に大きな耳割れが発生した。比較例2-10では、圧延の途中で破断した。
以上のことから、本発明例によれば、引張強度が750MPaであり、かつ導電率が10%以上である高強度高導電性銅合金を、耳割れ等による加工トラブルなく、製出(製造)できることが確認された。
Claims (11)
- Mg:1.0質量%を超えて4質量%未満、及び
Sn:0.1質量%を超えて5質量%未満を含有し、
残部として、Cu及び不可避不純物を含み、
Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.4以上であることを特徴とする高強度高導電性銅合金。 - Mgの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Mg/Snが0.8以上10以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上を更に含有し、その含有量が0.01質量%以上5質量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- B:0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下を更に含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- P:0.004質量%未満を更に含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- 引張強度が750MPa以上であり、導電率が10%IACS以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- Ni:0.1質量%を超えて7質量%未満を更に含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- Niの含有量とSnの含有量の質量比Ni/Snが0.2以上3以下であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- P及びBのうち、いずれか一方又は両方を更に含有し、その含有量が0.001質量%以上0.5質量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- Fe,Co,Al,Ag,Mn,及びZnから選択される少なくとも1種以上を更に含有し、その含有量が0.01質量%以上5質量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
- 引張強度が750MPa以上であり、導電率が10%IACS以上であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の高強度高導電性銅合金。
