The wiring length (wiring routing) of the clock signal line is increased inside the DAC IC.
- the clock signal CLK is likely to be subjected to band limitation due to parasitic components (parasitic capacitance, etc.) of the clock signal line, and the high-frequency clock signal CLK is simultaneously applied to many D flip-flops D-FF with high quality.
- the conversion speed of the digital / analog converter DAC is increased, the deterioration of the retiming accuracy in the current switch cell becomes more remarkable.

It is easy to ensure accuracy, and therefore, a higher-speed D / A conversion operation can be realized.
- the digital input signal is separated into half-rate signals by the D flip-flop D-FF which latches the digital input signal and outputs it after retiming. Therefore, the bandwidth requirement of the digital signal wiring system from the D flip-flop D-FF to the switch circuit has been eased, and the flexibility of the routing of the digital signal is given due to the circuit layout of the digital / analog converter. Can be increased.
- the half-rate signals that are output separately are multiplexed by the select signal in the current switch cell
- the half-rate signals between the half-rate signals are somewhat different as long as the timing of the select signal is given accurately. Skew (deviation on the time axis) can also be allowed.
- the current switch cell itself is not large-scale and can be realized in a small area as a circuit layout. Therefore, it is relatively easy to adjust the timing of the select signal supplied to the current switch cell. it can.
- the D flip-flop D-FF and the switch constituting the current switch cell are compared with the conventional current switch cell and digital / analog converter.
- the number of D flip-flops, D-FFs, and switches can be increased to a much smaller number compared to interleaved digital / analog converters, enabling downsizing. And an increase in power consumption is also suppressed.
- the characteristic difference between the sub-digital / analog converters and the nonlinear characteristics of the mixer which are problems in the interleaved digital / analog converter.
- the quality (linearity) degradation of the analog output signal due to the above will not occur.
- the current switch cell according to the present invention and the digital / analog converter to which the current switch cell is applied can suppress the increase in power consumption and maintain high quality while maintaining the conversion speed of the conventional digital / analog converter.
- the speed can be increased to about twice that of the analog converter.
