Abstract

 ハロゲン化銀含有ガラスを出発材料として、青を含む可視光領域の光に対し優れた透過率および消光比を有するガラス偏光子を提供すること。  本発明はガラス偏光子を製造するために、熱処理によってハロゲン化銀粒子を分散析出させた硼珪酸ガラスを還元し、少なくとも一部のハロゲン化銀から金属銀粒子を生成した後、加熱延伸することにより、ガラス中に配向、伸長された金属銀粒子を生成する事を特徴とする製造方法である。
