Abstract

 金属イオンおよびハロゲンイオンを含むガラスを溶解した後に、金属イオンおよびハロゲンイオンが分散したガラス内にハロゲン化金属粒子を析出させてガラスプリフォームを作製する析出工程と、ガラスプリフォームを所定温度で加熱延伸することにより、ハロゲン化金属粒子が延伸された延伸ハロゲン化金属粒子を含むガラスシートを作製する延伸工程と、延伸工程において作製したガラスシートにおける延伸ハロゲン化金属粒子を延伸金属粒子に還元する還元工程とを備え、析出工程において作製されたガラスプリフォームは、Gフィルターで透過される波長領域の光に対するhazeが0.3%から1.3%である偏光ガラスの製造方法が提供される。
