Abstract

【解決手段】 表面被覆工具は、基体と、基体の表面に設けられ、TiとWとを窒化物または炭窒化物として含む被覆層とを具備する。被覆層は、マトリックスと、マトリックス中に分散する分散粒子とを具備する。分散粒子のW含有量はマトリックスのW含有量よりも多く、かつマトリックスと分散粒子におけるW含有量の差が他の成分の含有量の差よりも大きい。そして、この表面被覆工具からなり切刃を有する切削工具を準備し、切削工具の切刃を被切削物に接触させ、被切削物を切削工具により切削加工する。
