- the invention relates to a tensioning device for an anti-skid chain with a housing and an actuating member, which has at least one position in which a tension cord that can be pulled into the housing through a housing opening can be blocked against its tensioning direction, and a release position in which the blocking is released, and the tension cord within the housing is connected to a winding roller which is biased in the winding direction and is rotatably mounted about its axis, a ratchet wheel with an associated spring-loaded pawl which can be actuated by the actuating element being provided on the winding roller, and the actuating element about an axis the winding roller parallel axis is rotatably mounted.
- Tensioning devices of the type mentioned above are usually used in anti-skid chains in order to avoid undesired return of the tension cord against the tensioning direction after assembly.
- Such a tensioning device is presented for example in DE 29703 911 U1.
- a housing is provided in which the tension cord can be wound up on a winding drum which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a ratchet wheel.
- the winding drum is biased by a spring to wind up the tension cord in the winding direction.
- the winding of the tension cord can be triggered via an actuator attached to the outside of the housing.
- a disadvantage of this device is the relatively impractical handling of the actuator, which can also easily jam in the event of contamination or icing.
