Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un agent approprié pour refroidir de l'huile et/ou de la graisse chauffée ou surchauffée et/ou éteindre un feu provoqué par de l'huile et/ou de la graisse ayant pris feu, à savoir dans des situations typiques de feux provoqués par des friteuses, au moyen d'une solution alcaline aqueuse. Cette dernière entraîne une saponification partielle de l'huile et/ou de la graisse, accompagnée d'une formation d'une couche de séparation flottante, visqueuse et non inflammable, qui interrompt l'arrivée d'oxygène de l'air vers la matière en feu. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que cette solution alcaline aqueuse est introduite, c'est-à-dire injectée, dans l'huile et/ou la graisse en feu, en étant liée de manière chimique et/ou physique à un liant, sous une forme compacte enveloppée, de manière à ce qu'elle soit immergée sous l'huile et/ou la graisse, et de sorte qu'elle se libère de l'enveloppe pour permettre l'évaporation lente de l'eau, tout en évitant des explosions provoquées par la graisse et tout en permettant la saponification de l'huile et/ou de la graisse.
