  • the cargo space is completely closed by sides 7, roof 9, a closed front side 11 and a back side closed by an elevating door 13 and a lift 15.
  • the sides 7 and the roof 9 of the cargo space are constructed upon a framework in which side profiles 15 connected to the chassis extend to the corner connection at the roof 9.
  • the connection consists of a corner profile 17 extending along the the length of the cargo space and welded to the side profiles 15 and the roof profiles 19 respectively.
  • an angle profile 21 is welded to the ends of the side profiles, the one outer surface of which abuts the side profiles 15 while its other outer surface faces the inside of the cargo space and extends vertically upwards.
  • more roof profiles 19 are provided than side profiles 15.
  • the side profiles 15 are rather flat, U-shaped and provided with flanges or wings 22.
  • Sideplates 23 are made of plywood and fastened to the side profiles 15 and an external covering plate 25 is attached to each profile 15.
  • each pawl 31 is at the under side provided with a notch 35, see fig. 7, in such a way that the pawl 31 cannot by accidental horizontal movements be brought out of engagement with the edge of the hole 32.
  • each intermediate floor 27 a steel wire 37 or a similar flexible connection means is provided close to, or as shown in figs. 5 and 6, is connected to each guide 29, which connection means extends inside the side profile 1 through a hole in the angle profile 21 up to the corner connection where a roller 39 rotably mounted on a roof profile 19 leads the wire 37 on to a coil- ing axle 41.
  • the profile 21 has cut-outs for the roller 39 and the roof profile 19.
  • the axles 41, of which there is one for each intermediate floor 27, are supported in holes 43 in the roof profiles 19 and are connected with the four wires 37 for each floor 27 in such a way that the turning of an axle 41 results in the floors 27 being raised or lowered simultaneously.
  • the principle is shown in fig. -4.
  • Each axle 41 is driven by a hydraulic motor 45 mounted on the front side 11 of the cargo space. Pressure oil is supplied by the hydraulic system of a (not shown) truck (or tractor for a semitrailer).
  • the cargo space 1 When the invention is in use the cargo space 1 is loaded from the back end while all the floors 27 except the frontmost floor are raised to just below the roof 9. When the space upon and under the front- most floor 27 is filled up, the loading of the next floor can begin, and so on. Hereby a great utiliz ⁇ ation ratio of the loading space can be obtained.
  • the cargo space according to the invention can be designed in many ways different from the hereindescribed, both as regards the suspension of the intermediate floors, the elevating system and the side guides.
  • the cargo space can f.inst. be provided with several loading gates at the sides instead of one at the end as shown, whereby direct access could be obtained to each intermediate floor from the side which may result in quicker loading and unloading of the cargo space.
