Definitions

  • the invention relates to a brake for fastening on a ski provided with a safety ski binding, which has at one end a brake spur and at its other end a protruding into the area of the ski binding, which can be brought into contact with a ski boot inserted into the ski binding and has a spring element which tries to bring the brake arm into the braking position.
  • Ski brakes with a pivotable brake arm are known in many designs. They are comparatively simple in their construction and essentially consist of a wire-shaped bracket carrying two brake spurs, which is rotatably mounted on the top of the ski by means of axles and also has a spring element such that it is capable of carrying out the in the bracket located in the rest position with the brake spurs when removing the ski boot from the ski binding into the braking position and holding it there with such a force that it can perform its braking function.
  • the known ski brakes of this embodiment have the Disadvantage that in the rest position a relatively large force is exerted by the spring element on the bracket and thus on the sole of the ski boot, while the holding force of the spring element is usually just about sufficient in the braking position. If you want to reduce the difference between the spring force in the rest position and the holding force in the braking position, these ski brakes require additional elements, which makes their production more expensive.
  • the object of the present invention is a ski brake in which the difference between the spring force in the rest position can be chosen as desired and a sufficient holding force is available in the braking position - without complicating the structure of the ski brake, but with a minimum of construction elements.
