Definitions
- the invention relates to a ski brake for compounds withand ⁇ skis provided with a brake bar, the vertical about a horizontal axis in a socket for Skilhacks ⁇ axis is pivotable and at the * one side of the axis of at least one brake arm and on the other side of the axis a Has tread arm and is under the action of a spring force pivoting the brake bracket into the brake pad.
- Ski brakes with a brake bracket are known in various designs.
- the brake bracket can be pivoted about an axis running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ski.
- the brake bracket On one side of the pivot axis, the brake bracket is usually shaped as a step bracket, while on the other side of the axis the brake bracket is provided with one brake arm or two brake arms.
- the brake bar is under the action of a spring force so that when the kick bar is released it is automatically pivoted into the braking position and held there.
- the spring force is applied by a torsion spring, whose axis lies in the swivel axis of the brake bracket.
- a disadvantage of this embodiment is the relatively large difference between the spring force exerted by the torsion spring in the driving position and in the braking position, it being difficult to avoid that either the force for holding the brake bracket in the driving position is too great or that Preload is too small to hold the bracket in the braking position.
- the invention has for its object to design a ski brake of the type described above so that the difference in spring force in the driving position and in the braking position is relatively small and at the same time a lower design is achieved, so that the ski brake can also be used with safety ski bindings whose binding wedges had a relatively large swivel range.
- a tension spring acts on the step arm at a distance from the axis, the force direction of which in the driving position is oblique to the step arm lying approximately parallel to the upper side of the ski. Because the direction of force of the tension spring changes during the transition from the driving position to the braking position, the accommodation of the tension spring takes up relatively little space, so that two tension springs can also be accommodated when two brake arms are arranged.
- FIG. 1 is a plan view of an inventive Skibre se
- Fig. 2 is a side view of the ski brake of FIG. 1 in the driving position
- FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 1.
- a ski 1 part of a ski 1 is shown, on which a ski brake 2 is attached.
- the ski brake 2 is composed of a brake bracket 3, a base 7, in which the brake bracket 3 is mounted, and two tension springs 9, the latter being accommodated in two channels 12 arranged in the base 7, which are approximately in the direction extend the longitudinal axis of the ski. 1, is approximately U-shaped and can be pivoted about an axis 8 arranged close to the upper side 6 of the ski and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ski.
- the brake bracket 3 On one side of the pivot axis 8, the brake bracket 3 is designed as a step arm 4, which has the shape of a step bracket.
- the brake bracket 3 On the other side of the axis 8, the brake bracket 3 has two brake arms 5, at the ends of which a brake shoe 13 forming a braking surface is attached.
- Each tension spring 9 is fastened at one end at the end of the channel 12 to a base 10, while the other end 11 of the tension spring 9 is attached to a holding arm 18 of the brake bracket 3.
- the holding arm 18 is parallel to a pivot shaft 17 formed by part of the brake bracket 3 in the axis 8 and is at a distance a from the pivot shaft 17.
- the channel 12 has a support saddle 14 which is arranged above the pivot axis 8 and on which the tension spring 9 is supported. It is thereby achieved, see FIG. 3, that with the tread arm 4 arranged approximately parallel to the upper side 6 of the ski, corresponding to FIG.
- the tension spring 9 is directed obliquely against the ski surface 5 and thus assumes a sufficiently large angle with respect to the tread arm 4 so that when the tread arm 4 is released, the tension spring 9 can reliably pivot the brake bracket 3 into the braking position B.
- the support caliper 14 In the braking position B, which is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2, the support caliper 14 only influences the direction of force of the tension spring 9 to a small extent. The difference between the spring tension of the spring 9 in the driving position F and in the braking position B is relatively small.
- the brake arm 5 with the brake shoe 13 lies a certain distance above the upper side 6 of the ski, which is achieved by means of a bent intermediate arm 21 which directly contacts the base 7 in a bore 19 in the base 7 mounted pivot shaft 17 connects.
- the guide links 20 are connected to a base cover 15 covering the channels 12, which is fastened by means of screws 16.
- the connection of the guide links 20 to the base cover 15 has the advantage that the guide links 20 can be " easily replaced by a correspondingly suitable base cover 15 to adapt to the respective ski width.
- a base 7 below Straightening tape 25 is arranged, which serves as a gauge for the central position of the base 7 on the ski, making assembly work easier.
- the base 7 can be kept relatively low, so that only a little space is required above the top of the ski 6 and accordingly the pivoting range of binding parts is not impaired.
- the tension springs 9 can have a sufficient length so that they can be mounted with a relatively large preload and accordingly exert a sufficient holding force on the brake bracket 3 in the braking position B.
- the brake bracket 3 lies within the width of the ski in the driving position F, there is no hindrance during the journey, even if the skis are inclined very much to the side of the road.
- the brake bracket 3 is expediently formed from spring steel wire, while the base 7, the brake shoes 13, the base cover 15 and the straightening band 25 are expediently made from a plastic.
- the tension springs 9 are made of spring steel wire.
- the springs 9 can also be arranged at a greater distance than in FIG. 1, so that there is space in between for the arrangement of a part of the safety binding, for example the automatic heel unit. In this case, the tread arm 4 must also be widened and the bearing of the pivot axis 8 must be moved accordingly against the edge of the ski.
