Abstract

Se enseñan composiciones y métodos para alterar el contenido de giberelina (GA) en maíz u otros cereales. También se proporcionan métodos y composiciones para alterar la expresión de genes relacionados con la biosíntesis de giberelina mediante supresión, mutagénesis y/o edición de subtipos específicos de genes GA20 o GA3 oxidasa. Se proporcionan adicionalmente células vegetales y plantas modificadas que tienen un elemento supresor o mutación que reduce la expresión o la actividad de un gen de GA oxidasa que comprenden niveles de giberelina reducidos y características mejoradas, tales como altura de planta reducida y resistencia al hospedaje incrementada, pero sin mutaciones.
