DESIGN FOR RANGES.

Be it known that we, GURDON G. VOLFE and FRANCIS RI'roHiE, both of the city of Troy, in the county ot' Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented a new and original ornamental Design for Cooking- Ranges, of which the following is a speeitication, reference being had to the accompanying out, print, or engraving of a cooking-range which embodies our said new design.
One part of this invention consists of theV design for the compound panel ornament for the oven-door, the same being composed ot' the central rosette b, the four vine branches e c c c, with leaves and tendrils thereon, and joined at cl (I, and with the terminal leaves and tendrils cfg, all shaped and disposed together, so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid cut.
Another part of this invention consists of the compound intaglio panel ornament for the warming-closet doors, the same being composed ofthe central rosette i, and the two pairs of vine-branches j j, with side bracts and tendrils thereon, and joined in tritd terminals k, with projecting tendrils l, all shaped and arranged so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part of this invention consists of the design for the panel-border M, the same being composed of the compound plain outer molding` n, surrounding the rectangular door, the plain at surface o, the ornamental edging p, formed of the alternate large rounded and small pointed projections q r, and the interior plain depressed surface s, all so as to appear as represented in the aforesaid cut.
Another part of this invention consists of the design for the door-panels, irrespective of the central ornaments thereon, the same be ing composed of the smooth oblong inner quadrilateral panel T, with rounded corners u, and surrounded by the ornamental bead c and circuit W, having a vertically-grooved surface, and with ornamental truncated corners X, and the surrounding higher, plain, fiat, oblong, quadrilateral surface s, all shaped and combined substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
Another part of this invention consists of the design for the lower front plate, composed otl the plain flat surface Z, the beadings a a, the overhanging inclined surface h, and the imposed waved edging m, with the upper ornaments t and lower ornaments w, all shaped and arranged together so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part of this invention consists of the design for the front parts ofthe side stainlards F F of the upper portion of the range, the same being composed of the compound capital moldings B B, the compound colulnu ornaments O C, the ornamental base portions D D, and the reverselycurved parts E E, all shaped and arranged as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part of this invention consists of the design for the side of' the standards F F, the same being composed of the plain flat surface G, and the panel therein surrounded by the molding J, and having the semicircular or arched top K, straight parallel sides L L of dili'erent lengths, and the straight inclined bottom N, and also having the surface O grooved vertically, all substantially as represented in the aforesaid cut.
What we claim as our invention is- 1. The design for the central panel ornament for the oven-door1 composed of the parts b, c, d, c,f, and g, all shaped and combined as described.
2. The design for the panel ornament, composed ofthe parts 1,), k, and l, shaped and arranged together as described.
3. The design for the panel-border M., composed ofthe compound molding a, plain surface o, ornamental edging 1J, formed of the parts q and Ir, and the plain surface s, all shaped and combined as shown and specilied.
4. The design for the door-panels, irrespective of the central ornament thereon, the same being composed of the smooth panel-surface T, with ornamental corners u and bead o, verticallygrooved surface W, with ornamentcd corners av, and the surrounding surface s, :lll shaped and arranged as described and shown.
