DESIGN FOR A PARLOR-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,396, dated September 16, 1884.
Application filed June 17, 1884. Term of patent 1' years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ll. CLAY BASUOM, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of Bensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAS S. I-Imsrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Parlor-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, refcrence being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a stove having said design.
This design relates to the shape of the stove and to the ornamentation of its parts, as here inafter described, and shown in the accoinpa nying illustration One distinguishing feature of this design is the configuration and ornamentation of the main portion of the stove, consisting of the rectangular projecting top plate, A, having the outer border, 6, and inclined surface 6; the end B and front 0 of the upper section, each of a general rectangular form, and curved co ncavely outward at the upper parts, as shown at a a, and the part 0 being narrower at its middle than at its ends, and curved concavely along its lower edge; the projecting plate D,of a general rectangular shape horizontally, inclined on top and arched in front; the front E and end F of the middle secti0n,each of a general rectangular form, and curved concavely outward at the upper parts, as shown at b b, and extended upward under and to the plate I); the flat rectangular projecting top plate, G, of the base section; the rectangular front H and end plate, I, of the base section, and the flat rectangular hearth-plate J The configuration and ornamentation of the cover K consists of its rectangular outline, flat top 0, lower inclined border, 0, intermediate inclined part, c, and the front ornament, d.
The design for the top A consists of its rectangular form plane outer border, 6, inclined molded surface 6, end ornan1ents,f, and ornamented name part ,9.
The design for the end B of the upper section is distinguished by its concavely-curved upper part, and the rectangular panel having therein the central rosette and quadrilateral ornaments 71, the upper vine and leaf ornaments, '1', and the lower corner flaring orna ments, i.
The design for the front of the upper section is distinguished by its concavely-curved upper portion at a, its contracted middle part, the central ornaments, l.', angular end ornaments, Ir, and the intermediate vine-form ornaments, j.
The design for the plate 1) is distinguished by its arched front portion, Z, and straight angular end parts, Z, the central semi-rosette ornaments, m m, and the lateral rows of flaring ornaments a n.
The design for the ornamental plate L on the upper part of the front of the middle scction is distinguished by having its outline in the general form of a segment of a circle, and having the lower laterally-flaring ornaments, 0, the flaring top ornament, 0', the central quadrilateral ornamental part, p, and the vineform ornaments p.
The design for the front I) of the middle section consists of the two rectangular upper doors, M, each having four rectangular panes, q, and curved reverscly in the horizontal di rcction, the oblong rectangular lower doors, N, each having the two rectangular panes q, and curved rcversely in the horizontal direction, and the main plate 0, likewise curved revcrselyin the horizontal direction, and having the band 1' between said upper and lower doors, the concavcly curved upper corner parts, b, and the sub-circular top extension, 2''.
The design for the end F of the middle section consists of the upper flat rectangular door, P, having the four rectangular panes s, the lower flat rectangular door, Q, having two rectangular panes, s, and the generally flat and rectangular main plate R, having thehorizontal bandt between the doors and the concavelycurved upper part, b.
The design for thefoot-rcst S consists of the two reversely-curved ornamented brackets u, the intermediate rail, a, and the pointed extensions of.
The design for the front H of the lower sec tion is distinguished by the oblong rectangular doors T, having the compound bordcr molding 1', the series of veri icaltvoblong rectangular apertures v, and the intermediate rosette and seale-l'orm ornaments, 1*".
The design for theend plate, l, of the lower section consists of the outer rectangular tlat port ion, H, the raised pam-l-border w", and the compound panel ornament Yr.

\Ve claim as new-- 1. In a design for a stove, the configuration and ornamentation 01' the main portion, c011- sisting of the top plate, A, end B, and front (I of the npperscetion, plate 1), front E, and end 1* of the middle section, plate G, front H, and end plate, I, of the basesection, and the hearthplate J, as shown and described.
2. In a design for a store, the shape and ornamentation of the cover K, embracing the parts 0, e, r, and d, as shown and described.
3. .In a design for a stove. the shape and ornamentation of the top plate, A, consisting of the parts 0, c, f, and 5 as shown and described.
