DESlGN FOR ORNAMENTAL VASE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,41 1., dated May 5, 187 1 application filed April 21, 182 4.
[Term of Patent 7 years] Case I).
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. N. FIsKE, of New York, in the county of New Yorlr and State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Design for an Ornamental Vase, of which the following is a specification:
This is a design for an ornamental vase and its nature is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
It has a circular base, A, which supports a body, 13, ornamented around its exterior by figures of cranes and acanthus leaves, as shown in the illustration. At the top the body B terminates with a projecting circular molding, ornamented around its exterior by an overhanging scalloped pendent border, b. The bowl 0 of the vase consists of a lower portion in the form of a flattened spheroid, ornamented with figures in relief around its under surface; the upper part of the bowl flaring or curving rapidly outward near its top, and terminating in an ornamented or scalloped border, curved slightly downward at its extremity. On opposite sides of the bowl 0 are attached handles D, the upper central extremity of which terminate in an ornamental scroll or boss, 6. At the top these handles are ornamented by a projecting leaf, f, stand in g nearly vertical, their lower extremity terminating in an outwardly-curved point, (1, having a similar lea-t pointing inward and downward. These handles, as shown in the photograph, are composed of two separate curved portions united near their center, at which point they are ornamented by a pendent drop, (1, resembling an acorn in form.
What I claim as my invention is-- The design for a vase, substantially as shown and described.
JOSEPH \V. FISKE.
