JOSEPH. W. FISKE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESiGN FOR ORNAMENTAL VASE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,427, dated May 12, 1874; application filed April 21 1874. [Term of Patent 7 years] CASE 1.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. \V. 'FIsKE, of New York, in the county oi. New York and State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Design for an Ornamental Vase, of which the following is a specification.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
This design is for an ornamental vase for pleasure-grouuds. The bowl of the vase is formed of an upper and lower member, the upper one, 1), having an outwardly-curved and scalloped edge, rapidly decreasing in diameter as it approaches the lower part E, which is swelled out around its center, so as to be considerably enlarged at that point. The part E is ornamented around its upper surface with light lines arranged to form ornamental figures, while its under surface is nearly covered with leaves in relief much heavier than those above. To the bowl are attached two highly ornamental handles, 0. The body on which the bowl is supported consists of a flaring fluted portion, A, connected to a rectangular base by an oval molding covered with figures in relief. Around the center of the body, at the upper termination of the fluted portion, is a beaded molding, a, and above this an enlargement, b, of much greater diameter, richly ornamented on its exterior by a scalloped border in relief, the whole constituting a highly ornamental design for a vase.
hat I claim as my invention is- The design for a vase, substantially as shown and described.
JOSEPH W. FISKE. Witnesses:
