DESIGN FOR AN'EAR-RING AND OTHER JEWELRY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,229, dated April 19, 1881.
Application filed January 25, 1881. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERBERT G. MAGKIN- NEY, of the city and county of Providence, and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ear-Ric gs and Similar Articles of Jewelry, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The said design is represented in the accompanying drawing; and it consists of the bowshaped or lyre-shaped pendant p, bordered by the scallops s, substantially as shown, and surmounted by the circular ornament 0, having its edge scalloped or indented. Said circular piece 0 is made with a plain surface, 0, in the center, or the center may be further ornamented with a precious stone or other appropriate ornament. The lower portion of the pendant p is nearly in the form of a semicircle, while the upper portion is elongated, the arms gradually approaching each other until near the top, where they curve outward slightly. A pendant or drop, (I, is hung Within the lyre-shaped pendant p, with or without a setting for a stone 2 5 or other addition, and the surfaces shown may be ornamented as indicated or otherwise, according to taste.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The said design for ear-rings and other jewelry, the same consisting of the lyre-shaped pendant p, with a pendant or drop hung within the same, and bordered by the scallops .9, together with the circular indented ornament 3 5 0, all substantially as herein shown and described.
