DESIGN FOR CHANDELIERS.
Specication forming part of Design No. 9,407, dated July 25, 1876; application filed July l, 1876. [Term of Patent 7 yeara] l brackets mounted. also with ornamented surfaces, and with pro- To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, PARTRIOK J. CLARK and JOSEPH KINTz, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and original Design for Chandelier, of which the following is a specification Our design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
The suspending-rod A has an inverted coneshaped top,B,ornamented on its surface with the vertical flutes D, branching figures E, plain circular band F, ribbed band G, oval figures H I, and the pointed and figured inclined flange J. Below the top of said rod it is ornamented with the basin K figured on its surface with leaves L, and the flnted and pointed margin M, and on the top with the faces N, and horns O, and over said basin P with oruamented surfaces are Below these are other brackets Q,
jecting ornaments R, S, T, U, and V, in imitation of carved work, said brackets resting at the lower end on the arms W, and near the upper end against the rod A. Inside of said brackets is a bell-shaped figure, X, on the rod A, with leaf ornaments on the surface, and below the bell is a vase, Y, with iluted sides c, figured base b, and top flange d. Below these arms and above another set, W', are similar brackets Q', with similar ornaments, and inside ofthe brackets Q' the rod A is ornamented with the inverted cone g, boss h, iiuted and pointed section i, figured cone-sec tion j, standard l, and the upper base-plate m, to which, together with the lower baseplate n, the lower arms are connected. From the lower baseplate is an ornamental pendant, consisting ofthe sections p, g, and r, with oruamented surfaces, as shown. The arms W and W', for the support of the lamp-holders t, have top ornamental figures u c, bottom figures a', b', and c', and side ornaments d' e', and the lamp-holders k are fluted at j", plain at g', and have open top section h'.
We claim as a design for a chandelier- 1. The inverted cone-shaped top B, having its surface figured with the vertical fiutes B, branching figures E, plain circular band F, ribbed band G, oval figures H I, and the pointed and figured inclined flange J, as set forth.
2. The basin K, figured on its surface with leaves L, fluted and pointed margin M, faces N, and horns O, as set forth.
3. The brackets P, having the ornamented surfaces, as shown, in connection Vwith the basin K and the rod A, as set forth.
4. The brackets Q and Q', having the ornaments R, S, T, U, and V, as set forth.
5. The bell-shaped ligure X, with leaf ornaments Z, vase Y, with iluted sides a, figured base b, and top flange d, as set forth.
6. The inverted cone g, boss h, tinted and pivoted section i, figured cone-section j, standard l, and the upper base m, as set forth.
7. The lower base n, with pendant p q r, as set forth.
8. The arms W and W', having the top ornaments u c, bottom figures a', b', and c', and side ornaments d' e', as set forth.
9. The lamp-holders t, having inted portions f', plain portions g', and open-top section h', as set forth.
