DESIGN FOR STREET-LAMP POSTS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,29 1, dated April 27, 1875; application filed April 10, 1875. [Term of Patent7 years] Case 0.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM TWEEDDALE, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Street-Lamp Post, of which the following is a specification:
The design is full represented in the accompanying print, to which reference is 'made.
The top of the lamp-post is an inverted frustum, m,of a concave cone, which rests on the fluted dome n, supported by a capital having the plain band 0 for the top, scroll ornaments 1) and heads (1 for the sides, and the bead 1', plain band .5, and fluted band t for the base. The capital surmounts the fluted and plainsided column 11, having the pendent scroll ornaments T at the top, head 10, band an, pendants y and 2, plain bands a b, and convex band 0 for its base, which is mounted on apedestal whose upper portion, between band I) and the plain band (1, is figured with the leaf ornaments c, with bulhsf'; and below the said hand the pedestal is ornamented by the heads 2, flutes 1:, leaf ornaments 1', heads j. acorn-shaped knobs l, and bird-legs m, while the base has the conical band n, plain bands 0 and p, and the llutcd conical band 1 I claim as a design for streetlamp post 1. The inverted frustum of a concave cone, in, and fluted dome in, as set forth.
2. The capital having the plain band 0 for the top, scroll ornaments p and beads q for the sides, and the head 0', plain band .9, and fluted band if for the base, as set forth.
3. The fluted and plainsided column u, having the pendent scroll ornaments 0 at the top, head to, band-pendants y and z. plain bands at b, and convex band 0 for the base, as set forth.
at. The leaf ornaments c and bulbs f, with the plain band (1' on the upper portion of the pedestal, as set forth.
5. The heads 2, beads j, leaf ornaments i, acorn-shaped bulbs l, and bird-legs m on the middle portion of the pedestal, as set forth.
6. The conical plain band a, cylindrical bands 0 and p, and the fluted conical band for the base, as set forth.
