DESIGN FOR STREET-LAMP POSTS.

Specification forming part of Design No. 8,295, dated April 27, 1875; a-ppiicmtion filed April 10, 1875. [Term of Patent 7 years] CASE D.

To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that LwiLLmu TWEEDDALE, of Brooklyn. in the count of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Street-Lamp Post, of which the following is a specification My design is fully represented in the accompanying cut, to which reference is made.

The top of the lamp-post is constructed in the form of a globe, with the circle q, vertical triangular points I, surrounding the upper portion, the plain band an, and head a, surrounding the middle and the oval ribs oon the bottom portion. This bulb rests on a capital having a concave conical top portiomp. with plain base q, and a lower portion, on which are the scalloped edged and beaded ornaments r. The shaft or column has the plain bands 8 t and groove 11, with disk-shaped figures r in the bottom of the groove, and points 20 and circles .12 below for the ornamentation of the upper end. On the middle portion of the column are parallel zigzag bands a, with diskshapcd projections 1), between projecting figures c on the upper points and pendants d from the lower points. The lower portion of the column is ornamented by the plain bands 0, vertical oval ribs f, round figures g, fig ures h, scalloped band i, and the figures j and It. The base of the column is ornamented with plain bands I, concave bands m, conical band a, with figures p, and bars q, and the convex band 0'. The pedestal is figured with the zigzag band a", pendants s and t, scrolls u o w, bars as y, and the figures z. The base has the top and bottom plain hands a b, conical plain band 0 points ri and circles e I claim as a design for a street-lamp post 1. The globe-shaped top of the lamp-post, with the circle of vertical triangular points I, surrounding the upper portion, the plain band m, and head a, surrounding the middle and the oval ribs 0 on the bottom portion, as set forth.

2. The capital having the concave conical top portion with plain base q, and a lower portion ornamented with the scalloped and beaded figures r, as set forth.

3. The plain baudsst, groove u,disk-shaptal figures r in the bottom of the groove, points to, and circles 01', for the ornamentation ot the upper portion of the column, as set forth.

4. The parallel zigzag bands a, disk-shaped figures b between said hands, projecting ligures c on the upper points and pendants (l from the lower points, as set forth.

5. The plain bands 0', vertical oval ribsf, round figures g, figures h, scalloped band 1", and the figures j and It, as set forth.

6. The plain bands 1, concave bands m, conical band a, figures 1;,hars q, and the convex-band o, as set forth.

7. The zigzag hand '2', pendants s and t, scrolls a r 20, bars .t" y, and the figures s, as set forth.

8. The plain hands a D conical plain band 0 points (l and the circles 0 as set forth.
