Description

011N 81. OR D22 @411 EX DESIGN.
E. OTBURTIS. WATCH CHARM.
No. 22,411. Patented May 9, 1893.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD O. CURTIS, OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY.
DESIGN FOR A WATCH-CHARM.
SPEGIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 22,411, dated May 9, 1893.
Application filed March 7, 1893. Serial No. 465,030- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD 0. CURTIS, a member of the band of the Twenty-fourth United States Infantry, and at present residing at Fort Bayard, in the county of Grant 4nd Territory of New Mexico, have invented and produced a new and original Design for \Vatch-Charms or Analogous Articles of Urnament, of which the following is a specification.
My design relates to a charm or other article of jewelry for personal wear, to be made of metal or other suitable material and it consists in the grouping of certain elements or emblems in an artistic and ornamental manner as will appear upon reference to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure I is a perspective view, and Fig. II is a bottom plan.
The design consists of a suitable frame 1, in which is mounted a representation of an hour-glass 2, while the frame is supported by a pendant formed of three links 3, 4 and 5 links 3 and 5 being attached at their lower ends to the frame, while the link 4 unites the links 3 and 5 at their upper ends and forms a convenient means for attachment of the charm to the watch-chain or other object from which it is to hang. In addition to these features and arranged around the hour-glass there may be mounted a ladder 6, and a representation of a palm tree and mallets 8, substantially as shown. The frame consists of upper and lower square parallel heads 9 and 10 between which the hour-glass 2 is mounted and which are spaced apart by means of the corner posts ll. Upon the upper square head may be mounted representations of swords 12 as shown in Fig. 1, while upon the lower head may be mounted acrescent 13 inclosing a star 14. It will be observed that the frame consisting of the upper and lower heads 9 and 10, and the corner posts 11, constitutes the frame of the hour-glass.
Having thus described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a watch-charm or analogous article of ornament, substantially as herein shown and described.
EDWARD O. CURTIS.
