DESI-GN FOR POCKET-BOOK CLASPS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,051, dated June 12, 1877; application filed May 24,1877.
[Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LoUIs MESSER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have originated and designed a Pattern for Spring- Olasps for Pocket-Books, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, ret'- erence being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification, in which drawing the tigure represents a face view of a spring'clasp containing my design.
My design is intended for the cap-plate of springclasps for pocket-books; and consists in a circular base having acentrai head, which is ornalnented in imitation of a key-hole, and having radial ears, Afrom one to the. other of which extends a segment of a' ring, while between such ears is a perforated flange, as will he hereinafter pointed ont. Y
In the drawing, the letter A designates a circular base, which has a central head, B, ornaniented in imitation of a key-hole, as at a. From the base A project two ears, C C, iu a radial direction, and from the ends of these ears extends a ring, D, ot' segmental form, while they are joined together sidewise by a flange, E, which is perforated, as at c. Each of the radial ears C O is ornameuted with a head, d.
By these characteristic features I obtain a design possessing a very handsome and distinguishing appearance.
