IMPROVEMENT IN BONE-POCKETS FOR CORSETS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 215,655, dated May 20, 1879; application filed March'21, 1879.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. NETTLE- TON, of Bridgeport, in the State of Connectiout, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bone-Pockets for Corsets and similar articles, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view, and Fig. 2 is a crosssection, of my improvement in bone-pockets.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both figures.

My invention relates to a new construction of the bone-pockets of corsets; and consists in forming and ornamenting a pocket between the two thicknesses of cloth by means of a zigzag stitch, perforating the cloth at regular intervals at the sides of the pocket, so as to define and form the pocket, and crossing the pocket in zigzag lines, so as to impart an ornamental appearance.

In the drawings, the letters (6 a designate the two thicknesses of coutil or other cloth;
