DESIGN FOR A STAlR-GARPET BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,353, dated December 1, 1896. Application filed October 30,1896. Serial No. 610,639. Term of patent 7 years.
To a whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, ROBERT II. WARREN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stair-Carpet Buttons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In said drawings, Figure 1 is a plan, and Fig. 2 is a cross-section, of the newly-designed stair-carpet button.
The leading feature of the design consists in the stair-carpet button having an annular series of petal ornaments disposed around the center perforation of the button, the said button being concavous where ornamented by said petal-shaped ornaments, and toward the periphery of the button ornamented by flower-shaped ornaments inclosed in circular figures between which are outWardly-pointed ornaments.
In said drawings, (1 indicates the button; Z), the central perforation; c, the petal-shaped ornaments disposed around said central perforation in a concavity of the button.
(I is a circular ornament surrounding the petal-shaped Ornaments.
:3 care flower-shaped ornaments inclosed in small circular figures, and fare scrolls ornamenting the button between said flowershaped ornaments, said scroll having the appearance of being rolled up and forming points which project outward, the periphery of the button being correspondingly pointed at said scroll-shaped pointed ornaments.
