l Specification forming part of Design N o. 10,686, dated May 21, 187B; application filed April 3, 1878.
[Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDK. R. SEIDEN- STICKER, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Design for Extension Lamp-Fixture; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent a side view.
The part called the harp extends from the center upward on each side in irregular curves, and Within which the lamp is set. The ornamentation of the harp is scroll-tracery, projecting at points each side the body or frame, so as to give an ornamented edge outside and in, as well as an ornamented surface, and as shown in the accompanying illustration. Above the shade, and at the top of the harp, there is a crown, consisting of a reeded base, a plain bead surmounted by a series of lancet-shaped tongues inclining outward. The boss or part which carries the pulleys and smoke-bell is of inverted conical form, its
surface fluted, and with intermediate tracery, and surmounted by a series of lancet-shaped tongues, and with a projecting crown-shaped part at the points Where the pulleys are attached, these parts also surmounted by the outwardly-inclined lancet-shaped tongues, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- 1. The design for extension lamp-fixtures, consisting of the harp-shaped frame extending upward each side from the central lampsupport in a succession of irregular curves, and ornamented by a tracery of scroll-work projecting over both the outer and inner edge, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
2. The design for boss for extension lampxtures, consisting of the conical-shaped body, uted, with intermediate tracery surmounted by lancet-shaped tongues, and crown-shaped pulley projections, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
FREDK. R. SEIDENSTICKER.
