will enable others skilled in the art to whichit appertains to make and use the same, refer ence being bad to the accoin 'ianying drawings,
and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, and in which Figures 1 and 3 are views of the chair and its. blank, and Figsil and 4 are views of the sofa and its blank.
This invention has reference to the manufacture of toy articles of furniture; and it consists in the construction and adaptation of the blank for the intended purpose, substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.
Referring to the accompanying drawings by the'way of illustrating my invention, I will describe its application to the following among other tolv articles of furniture.
A is the chair, which is made from the blank A as follows: fold at F, bringing E and G together, then bend at O, downward again "at B and K, bringing K over A and the two ends together, and again at E and G, forming the front legs; next bend at H and B upwardly, forming the back of the chair and finishing the operation of making the chair.
B is a sofa, which is made from the blank B in the following manner: commencing at A bend downward, and again downward at G, then upward at D and downward at F, again bending at G, which. brings H and B together, forming one arm of the sofa; then bend at I downward, again at K downward, and at L, when the other arm of the sofa will he formed finally bend at 0 upward, folding it over A, which will bringthe two ends A 0 together, thus completing the operation of making the sofa.
It will be noticed that the configurated-ap ertures indicated by letters in the blanks add an ornamental appearance to the several articles of furniture, in addition to facilitating and preventing the least possible distorting of the tin while bending the same. Having thus fully described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- As a new toy article of manufacture, the blank having a series of continuous apertures which indicate the points at which it is to be bent into the intended shape, and bent and folded upon itself continuouslyin the formation of the seat, legs, and back of the article, as shown and .described.
