) SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,225, dated April 16, 1895.

Application filed March 18, 1896. Serial No. 542,267. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, residing at New York, county of New York, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Pattern to be \Vrought into Wilton and other Carpetings in such coloring as may be designed; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet weaving and manufacture a clear understanding of the same, and is sutficient to enable such person to use my invention.

The design consists of a bodyA, and a border B.

The bodyA is decorated with groupingsof conventionalized flowers and foliage, together with scroll Work.

The border B, is similarly decorated with groupings of flowers, foliage and scrolls, with a shaded outer edge.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a design fora carpet, the body A, sub stantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border B, substantially as shown.

The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, and the border B, substantially as shown.
