DESIGN FOR AN UNDERGARMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,811, dated December 25, 1900. Application filed November 24,1900. Serial No. 37,696. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GERALDINE OBRIEN COOK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bostou,in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for an Undergarment, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,
forming a part thereof.
The drawing shows an undergarment which illustrates my design.
Ihe leading feature of my design comprises an undergarment the bodyof which at its upper portion presents a front flap having its side edges upwardly converging from the bottoms of the arm-scyes, the central portion of the flap below the neck being relieved by a group or series of longitudinal and distinctive ornamental ribs at each side of and parallel to the median line of the [lap and extended downward to the bottom of the flap.
In the drawing the body A of the undergarment A presents a plain front flap A having upwardly-converging and slightly-scalloped side edges a springing from the bottom of the arm-scyes at a, the central portion of the flap being relieved by a group or series of distinctive and heavy ornamental ribs a below the neck 11 at each side of and parallel to the median line of the flap, the lower ends of the ribs terminating at the bottom of the flap substantially on a transverse line between the lower portions of the armscyes, the rectangular and well-defined group of ribs making a prominent and effective ornamentation sharply contrasting with the plain portion of the flap, the ornamentaland pleasing appearance thus obtained being enhanced by the sloping side edges of the flap.
Having fully described my design, what I claim is- The design for an nndergarinent substantially as shown and described.
