DESIGN FOR AN UPRIGHT OR SUPPORT FOR FURNITURE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,252, dated March 24, 1903.
Application filed February 24, 1903. Serial N0- 144,924. Term of patent 7 years.
To all who'nr/ it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH KEPPLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design forUprights or Supports for Furniture, of which the followingis aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof, and in which an upright or support showing my design is illustrated in a perspective view.
As shown in the drawing, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the shape or configuration of the upright or support combined with the surface ornamentation thereof.
As illustrated, the upright or support has an upper horizontal member a, which in its upper outline is of zigzag shape, a lower member or base I), and an intermediate memher or body 66. The surface of the member a is ornamented with zigzag'lines to representin Indian mythology clouds. It also has a central ornament d to represent in Indian mythology the head of an eagle. The base I) has intermediate of its sides a part (1 of a shape or configuration corresponding conventionally to the tail, the side parts 1) representing the claws of the mythological eagle. 0
When viewed in front elevation, the design represents conventionally a horizontal panel (1, representing the clouds supported by the head and wings of an eagle.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The ornamental design for an upright or support for furniture, substantially as herein shown and described.
