Abstract
Et vedhengende beskyttende belegg (9) av et ildfast materiale produseres på overflaten av karbonholdige, ildfaste, keramiske, metalliske eller andre materialer som tjener som komponenter for elektrolyseceller som arbeider ved høy temperatur, ved på slike overflater å påføre et velvalgt mikropyretisk reaksjonslag fra en oppslemming, hvilket når det er tørret, antennes for å igangsette en selvunderholdende mikropyretisk reaksjon, langs en forbrenningsfront, for produksjon av kondensert materiale som danner et slikt ildfast beskyttende vedhengende belegg. Oppslemmingen blir fortrinnsvis påført i flere lag, det eller de første lag for å lette vedhengning og det eller de siste lag for å gi beskyttelse, og kan inneholde en del på forhånd dannede ikke-reaktantmaterialer.
