PURPOSE:To provide coated superhard alloy material excellent in discriminating property after use and in cutting property, by coating super hard alloy material, which has been coated with one or more kinds of TiCN, TiN, TiCO, TiO, TiCNO, with TiC. CONSTITUTION:TiN, TiO, which are of gold color, and TiCN, TiCO, TiCNO, which have very bright reddish yellow color, have suitable wear resistance, thermal resistance require for coated super hard alloy material (coating tip), hence they are deposited in thickness of several mu on super hard alloy material by chemical depositing method etc. as an inner coating. The inner-coated material is coated in the same way with black, highly wear-resistant TiC as an outer coating. Use of the coating tip allows to distinguish used part from unused part during cutting under bad working environmental conditions by the difference in color tone of each coating material. If necessary, transparent layer of Al2O3 etc. may be deposited on the TiC layer without troubles.
