Et stål for stålrør som på masse-% basis omfatter, C: 0,2 til 0,7%, Si: 0,01 til 0,8%, Mn: 0,1 til 1,5%, S: 0,005% eller mindre, P: 0,03% eller mindre, Al: 0,0005 til 0,1%, Ti: 0,005 til 0,05%, Ca: 0,0004 til 0,005%, N: 0,007% eller mindre, Cr: 0,1 til 1,5%, Mo: 0,2 til 1,0%, Nb: 0 til 0,1%, Zr: 0 til 0.1%, V: 0 til 0,5% og B: 0 til 0,005%, idet resten er Fe og forurensninger, hvori ikke-metalliske inklusjoner inneholdende Ca, Al, Ti, N, O, og S er til stede, og i de nevnte inklusjoner er forholdet (Ca %)/(Al %) 0,55 til 1,72, og forholdet (Ca %)/(Ti %) er fra 0,7 til 19, kan anvendes som et råmateriale for rørkomponenter innenfor oljeindustrien, idet de anvendes ved en større dybde og under strengere korrosive omstendigheter, som f.eks. foringsrør og rør for olje- og/eller naturgassbrønner, borerør og borekrager for utsjaktning, og lignende.
