Abstract

Un método para fundir un producto de acero al B/Ti, medio en carbono usando procesamiento en el medio, usando procesamiento de flejes compactos o fundición de desbastes delgados. El método puede incluir proveer una composición de acero que incluye boro y titanio, y fundir la composición de acero en un desbaste que tiene un grosor entre alrededor de 25 y 150 mm. El desbaste puede tener una composición fundida que incluye alrededor del 0.23 al 0.30% en peso de carbono, alrededor del 0.0010 a 0.0050% en peso de boro, alrededor del 0.010 a 0.050% en peso de titanio, alrededor del 1.15 al 1.50% en peso de manganeso, menos del O.35% en peso de silicio y una proporción de Ti/N mayor a 2.9. La cantidad de cada elemento está provista sobre la base del peso total de la composición de acero. El desbaste de acero puede estar libre de grietas y defectos significativos. Asimismo, el desbaste de acero se puede usar para productos soldados a tope por resistencia (ERW).
