Røret er laget av et stål bestående av, i vekt%, C: 0,05 til 0,45%, Si: 0,1 til 1,5%, Mn: 0,1 til 3,0%, P: 0,03% eller mindre, S: 0,01% eller mindre, sol.Al: 0,05% eller mindre, og balansen er Fe og forurensninger, med et løselig N irmhold på 40 ppm eller mindre. Stålet kan omfatte én eller flere valgt fra V, Ti, Nb, B, Cr, Mo, Ni, Cu og Ca.
