Abstract
Un catalizador poroso, activado de óxido de fósforo/vanadio adaptado para la oxidación catalítica de un hidrocarburo para producir un anhídrido a ácido carboxílico el catalizador comprende cuerpos conformados que tienen un área de superficie B.E.T. de por lo menos aproximadamente 15 m2/g, un estado de oxidación promedio de vanadio de entre aproximadamente 4 y aproximadamente 4.5, un volumen total de poros de por lo menos aproximadamente 0.15 cc/g, una densidad de cuerpos conformados, aparente, normalizada, entre aproximadamente 1.25 y aproximadamente 2 g/cc, y una resistencia a la trituración de por lo menos aproximadamente 1.816 kg. Por lo menos aproximadamente el 5 por ciento del volumen de poros de catalizador está constituido de poros que tienen un diámetro de por lo menos aproximadamente 0.8 micras, y por lo menos aproximadamente 4 por ciento del volumen de poros esta constituidos de poros que tienen un diámetro de por lo menos aproximadamente 10 micras. El catalizador se prepara mezclando un precursor de óxido de fósforo/vanadio en partículas, con un agente modificador de poros para producir una composición precursora de catalizador modificada, transformando la composición precursora modificada a una configuración predeterminada, y removiendo el agente modificador de poros substancialmente a una temperatura menor que 300°C.
