Abstract

Un proceso para producir un producto de ácido acético que tiene un contenido bajo de acetato de butilo mediante una reacción de carbonilación. La reacción de carbonilación se lleva a cabo a una temperatura de 100 a 300°C, una presión parcial de hidrógeno de 0.3 a 2 atm, y una concentración de catalizador de rodio de 100 a 3,000 ppm en peso, tomando como base el peso del medio de reacción. La concentración de acetato de butilo en el producto de ácido acético se puede controlar retirando el acetaldehído de una corriente derivada a partir del medio de reacción y/o ajustando por lo menos uno de temperatura de reacción, presión parcial de hidrógeno, y concentración de catalizador metálico.
