Abstract
La presente invención es un proceso para la deshidratación de un alcohol que tiene al menos 2 átomos de carbono para hacer la olefina correspondiente, que comprende: a) introducir en un reactor una corriente (A) que comprende al menos un alcohol, opcionalmente agua, opcionalmente un componente inerte, b) poner en contacto la corriente con un catalizador ácido en el reactor en condiciones efectivas para deshidratar al menos una porción del alcohol para hacer una olefina, c) recuperar del reactor una corriente (B) que comprende: el componente inerte y al menos una olefina, agua y opcionalmente alcohol no convertido, d) opcionalmente fraccionar la corriente (B) para recuperar el alcohol no convertido y reciclar el alcohol no convertido al reactor de la etapa a), e) opcionalmente fraccionar la corriente (B) para recuperar el componente inerte, agua y la olefina y opcionalmente reciclar el componente inerte y opcionalmente una parte del agua al reactor de la etapa a), en donde, f) una cantidad efectiva de un componente capaz de neutralizar una parte del sitio activo del catalizador se introduce en la corriente (A) o directamente en el reactor de deshidratación y g) opcionalmente la temperatura del reactor de deshidratación se ajusta para incrementar la conversión de alcohol o el rendimiento de olefina o ambos. En otra modalidad en la etapa f) una cantidad efectiva de un componente capaz de incrementar la selectividad para la olefina correspondiente deseada se introduce en la corriente (A) o directamente en el reactor de deshidratación. El componente introducido en la etapa f) se puede elegir del grupo que consiste de amoníaco, sales de amonio orgánicas, hidrazina, nitrilos, aminas (que incluyen piridinas, pirroles, pirrolidonas y pirrolidinas), amidas, iminas, di-iminas, imidas, cianatos, isocianatos, nitritos y compuestos nitrosos, aldehídos, cetonas, ésteres carboxílicos, y sus tio-compuestos correspondientes (tioles, sulfuros, disulfuros).
