Abstract
Se proporciona una célula microbiana para producir al menos un éster de ácido carboxílico funcionalizado en la posición omega de al menos un alcano, donde la célula es modificada genéticamente para incrementar la expresión con relación a la célula natural de (i) Enzima E1 capaz de convertir el alcano al 1-alcanol correspondiente; (ii) Enzima E2 capaz de convertir el 1-alcanol de (i) al 1-alcanal correspondiente; (iii) Enzima E3 capaz de convertir el 1-alcanal de (ii) al ácido alcanoico correspondiente; (iv) Enzima E4 capaz de convertir el ácido alcanoico de (iii) al éster de ácido alcanoico correspondiente; y (v) Enzima E5 capaz de convertir el éster de ácido alcanoico de (iv) al éster de ácido omega-hidroxialcanoico correspondiente, y donde la célula no comprende una modificación genética que incremente la expresión con relación a la célula natural de al menos una de las siguientes enzimas E20-E24 seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de: - E20 Acil-ACP tioesterasa, de EC 3.1.2.14 o EC 3.1.2.22, - E21 Acil-CoA tioesterasa, de EC 3.1.2.2, EC 3.2.1.18, EC 3.1.2.19, EC3.1.2.20 o EC 3.1.2.22, - E22 Acil-CoA: ACP transacilasa - E23 Policétido sintasa, y - E4 Ácido hexanoico sintasa.
