Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para preparar carbonato de calcio precipitado (CCP) en un reactor de baja intensidad de energía de manera tal que la cantidad de sólidos en el producto de CCP puede aumentar a 35% o más sin llevar a cabo un paso de eliminación de agua. El proceso consiste en ejecutar, en paralelo y en dos o más recipientes de reacción separados, los pasos de poner en contacto hidróxido de calcio con un gas que comprende dióxido de carbono para permitir la formación de carbonato de calcio, y añadir óxido de calcio, cal o hidróxido de calcio deshidratado, o una combinación de cualesquiera de los tres, a una parte de la mezcla resultante de hidróxido de calcio y carbonato de calcio. La invención proporciona además un sistema reactor especializado así como el uso de este sistema reactor en la fabricación de CCP.
