Abstract

La invención proporciona una nueva clase de prepolímeros con contenido de silicona que contienen cadenas poliméricas con contenido de polisiloxano colgante. Esta clase de prepolímero con contenido de silicona es capaz de degradarse actínicarnente para formar un material de hidrogel de silicona con una permeabilidad de oxigeno relativamente alta, un módulo elástico reducido, y una permeabilidad iónica relativamente alta. La presente invención se refiere también a lentes de contacto de hidrogel de silicona elaborados a partir de esta clase de prepolímeros con contenido de silicona y a métodos para elaborar los lentes de contacto de hidrogel de silicona.
