Abstract

Se han descubierto métodos mejorados para la preparación de carbonos activados; con el fin de formar un carbón activado, un material precursor de carbón se recubre con una solución química basada en fósforo y se activa físicamente; un carbón activado también se puede formar al recubrir un precursor de carbón sin tratamiento con una solución química que reacciona químicamente con carbón, carbonizando el material resultante, y activando físicamente el material durante al menos una porción de la etapa de carbonización; un carbón activado también se puede formar por trituración de un material de carbón a un tamaño de partícula pre-determinado, después de la activación de las partículas trituradas; en otra mejoría, un carbón activado se forma al recubrir un carbón o precursor de carbón con nanopartículas, carbonizando si el carbón es un precursor de carbón, entonces la activación catalíticamente en aire y un gas inerte, y activación físicamente en vapor o dióxido de carbono; también se puede formar carbón activado mediante la activación físicamente de un carbón activado químicamente de manera previa.
